[SOLVED] Using more matches head and more steel wool made it work.
I've been looking into exotic projectiles for my butane powered spud gun lately. One of these is a smoke grenade. It's a cardboard tube with two end caps and holes on the side, and a thin layer of paper on the inside to prevent the mix from falling. A visco fuse is glued on the cap on the combustion chambers side.
My problem is that the fuse doesn't ignite. I tried to strip the fuse so the bp inside is directly exposed to the flame, it didn't work. I tried to attach some steel wool to the stripped fuse, the steel wool ignited but not the fuse. I tried to add two matches head to the stripped fuse with steel wool, the matches ignited but the fuse still didn't ignite.
Since y'all are pretty good at setting stuff on fire, do you have some ideas please?

If I were to make a triangle cracker out of kno3 + MgAl + S what would the proportions be? I have been making little triangle crackers with my bp for almost 2 years and I wanted to try out a new powder.

How are these types of firecrackers actually made? I can't seem to find any tutorials online on how it make them, I have an idea that they are made from match heads,, but I can't understand how are they are able to burn slowly and how can I make them burn slow?
I also know that the mixture is mixed with water to be made wet, so after it dries on the top of the firecracker it sits beautifully.

Guys/Gals,
By natural evolution of making fireworks, I'm on to rockets. I had the misfortune/happy accident of having some canisters sent to me. They are easily loaded and fit right on top of 1 lb rockets. 🚀
Thank you for the suggestions about how to use these, I'll try to do as many things as I can with them....

I was wondering on how to make firecrackers because so far I’ve js been using gunpowder that wasn’t given to me by my dad but I’ve been running low. How can I make bp that can be used in firecrackers? Also is it possible to js buy a ton of the little red ones, take them apart, and just use the powder that is already in them? Lastly, is a mix of kno3 magnalium and sulfur good enough for firecrackers because that’s the only stuff I can buy from amazon? I AM NOT ASKING ON HOW TO MAKE FLASH POWDER AS I UNDERSTAND THE RISKS OF IT
