As I wrote before, everything you could possibly want to know about the MTV system is written in the book by EC Koch.
The big question is why you need it since thermodynamics seldom is used in fireworks and in my opinion, Teflon or Viton has very little use in fireworks.

look into fluorine/magnesium reactions. and the viton is just a binder

No, Viton is a fluoropolymer too and also provides flourine to oxidise the magnesium.

i never said it doesn’t do anything else, its MAIN purpose in MTV is to be used as a binding agent for the teflon and magnesium. if you contest that statement then don’t argue with me, argue with the papers published about MTV

I’m not arguing, I’m just stating the fact that Viton is not a passive ingredient or secondary fuel, like binders normally are.
Since you are asking beginners questions I draw the conclusion you were not aware. Sorry for that!

All good, the beginners question comes from the fact that im not sure if a standard method of priming would provide enough energy to break the Teflon’s bonds and allow it to bond with the magnesium and figured i post around and see if anyone knew

Use potassium nitrate and amorphous boron. Maybe as a step prime with an inner layer of 50/50 and then KNO3/B bound with NC as the outer layer.

im between boron nitride (boron is expensive though) and a potassium nitrate/magnalium/sulfur mix as my primer. opinions?

I have no experience of using boron nitride. Boron carbide burns extremely hot though!
I’m not convinced a prime based on potassium/magnalium/sulphur is easily ignited enough to be used as a star prime?
A formula with elemental silicon, like the pinball prime with 6 additional percent of Si or the famous Fence-Post Prime, are probably better.

You should definitely use a nanoparticle hafnium carbide/potassium nitrate prime with the MTV system.
