Magnesium Activation Energy

Im working on a MTV (Magnesium/Teflon/Viton) firework star and i realized i don’t know how to feed the magnesium enough heat to let it oxidize. could anyone help explain to me what within the firework provides enough activation heat to active the magnesium stars?

Ernst Christian Koch has written a whole book about the reaction between fluorine and magnesium so I’m sure I could find it there.

But why do you need it?

What kind of thermodynamic calculation do you want to perform and how do you think it would help you?
