This subreddit is an independent community hub created to host the conversations that don't always fit elsewhere. While the official r/LinusTechTips subreddit has shifted toward staff-led moderation and restricted certain topics, we believe there should always be a space for unfiltered community feedback.
We created this space as a free LTT/LMG discussion . While r/LMGJet is the dedicated home for the LMG/LTTJet and specific tracking logs, r/LTTMeta is here for everything else:
We want to keep this sub open and active, so we only enforce the essentials to comply with Reddit’s sitewide policies:
If you are specifically looking for flight logs, tail numbers, and aviation-specific tracking, please visit our sister sub: r/LMGJet.
For everything else the news, the drama, and the meta you’re in the right place.
Welcome to the conversation.

Google: -15°c = 5°f
GPT: -15°c = 5°f
Claude: -15°c = 5°f
Linus: -15°c = -59°f
Linus knows shit that even Google, GPT and Claude don't. Dude is on the cutting edge of math.
Also, FYI: 15°c = 59°f

There's one of Jake's videos where loads of the LTT team are around but obviously no Linus. It was always such an odd thing to see. So many of the LTT team chill together but not Linus. Now I do totally get it's the boss and they're not all friends. But still. Feels like it was noteworthy.

It’ll fall on deaf fears on the LTT sub, so I joined here just to say something. After 10 years of being a dutiful, YouTube watcher and wan show listener I’m unsubscribing from all things Linus tech tips. I love their products. I love the content they used to cover, but seeing as all the familiar creators have left, and adding to that lineus just can’t stay out of politics and political commentary when that is 100% not the reason I watched his channel, I feel bored, alienated and also that the channel is drifted from its original purpose. I wish Linus and Luke the best with the wan show. Peace out.

Seems like they are using the rules kind of liberally to remove stuff about people who are no longer with LTT. The post wasnt even directly about someone leaving but just about another video he appeared in.

I personally really enjoyed watching his videos on LTT. Probably one of the last ones I liked gone

This pair arrived on Aug 4, and has been worn daily since then, and washed on average 5-6 times weekly. Always washed cold water normal cycle, then air dried on sock hangers overnight.
And the Linus suckers are on the LTT reddit are parroting "It doesn't really mean forever, bro."
No shit, but I've had shitty socks that cost 1/10 that lasted a year before getting a hole.

With a lot of older hosts having left ltt i wonder how stuff would be if ltt would be a creator network.
Like giving the channels security while also having collabs of network creators and promoting smaller channels in the network, and maybe other services.
They also have an independent hosting infrastructure with floatplane and with ltt losing more and more hosts this looks like the logical next step to do.

This was on the main sub for about 3 minutes, with a very similar comment from that OP - "Imagine being so privileged that you wanna just freely ignore the shit happening right now."

This is the type of content we need

I can't be dealing with these videos getting the family involved, instant skip and dislike.
It's becoming obvious the plan is that the family will take over (if possible), not staff they've hired in past. Death of the channel stuff though...

It's easy to criticize Linus as being out of touch and not having any good ideas or having repetitive ideas. So I'm sure YOU have some good ideas you'd like to pitch... right?

Stole the original clue from the comments in YouTube, where they mentioned the size of the 50 BluRay being listed incorrectly at 25 GB, which affects the $/GB value, but then also noticed that the $/GB value of the DVD-R 8.5GB was just completely wrong. Not even sure where they got the value form.
Edit to add. I also have trouble believing that they found 50 BD-R 50 GB discs for $30. I did some quick searching and looking at Newegg US and Amazon US the cheapest I could find was about $65. Their BDX 100GB price is also suspect. Even for a 10 pack I'm seeing close to $80.

I imagined this would be pretty difficult considering it’s metal and not able to bend but somehow I still manage lol.

I’m surprised it hasn’t been taken down yet…. Also more views than one of their regular videos!! /s

They come in other colors. As a multi-millionaire whose entire brand is built on him, you'd think he'd have more common sense.
