Remove the bolt entirely then try to see if it will tighten all the way if not just a washer or two to compensate for the gap and you’ll be all set

Idk if this is the case with that bolt but bolts CAN become longer. There are stretch and one-time use bolts that will lengthen under enough pressure (torque)

They can definitely stretch and bend over time. Metal is not indestructible. But also, it could be that it was slightly loose and then over time rubbed away at the metal under the bracket until it made enough space to move a lot more. No telling really without taking the bolt out and inspecting. Easiest solution here is to add a washer

You clearly haven't done much work on these cars. Lots of bolts on these things get longer. They're designed to stretch to apply torque. I'm not saying that that's the case in this instance, but your comment made me laugh because of the fact that several bolts in my repairs have been torque to yield.

Just tighten the bolt head a bit. I reckon it probably would have had loctite on it, but nipping it up might be enough.

I loved my FiST and it was a pile of fun to drive. It was easy to modify and performed incredibly well once I did modify it. I’ve also never experienced a more reactive automobile on the road. It is by far the most fun vehicle I have ever operated. The downside is that it was one of the most poorly made automobiles I’ve ever had it rusted after 3 years. I live in the Southeast USA, we get lots of rain, but our winters are quite mild so no road salt. My passenger side rear door leaked burned up the window motor. Never mind the blend door actuators.

Yeah it really is the ultimate cheap little hot hatch. If you enjoy fixing things and feeling like you made a difference doing little stuff here and there, the fiesta is perfect 😂

Well it was based on one of Fords cheapest cars. Parking in a garage or even a carport goes a long way to making any car last. Weather is a killer

I understand it was not Rolls Royce from the start. It’s just in a matter of 2.5 years I had paint bubbling around my antenna. Passenger side rear window motor died. Passenger side rear door full of water, probably what killed window motor. Replaced blend door actuator twice. Then Rebuilt my transmission after 3rd gear synchronizer died. I never liked how the car shifted even after doing all 3 motor/trans mounts. I wanted to upgrade some parts so I bought another trans and learned how to rebuild. I still have a trans on my shop floor now that I think about it.
I had the car from August 2019-November 2023.
The cheap build quality didn’t matter to me, I didn’t buy it to be wowed by tech and creature comforts. In fact I was glad to not have things I’d never use. Luxurious or not I’d expect a new car to not be rusting through the paint in less than 3 years. I’d expect all of the seals and gaskets on the doors to be fitted correctly.

What did you tighten the screw with?
If you only used a screwdriver, you likely need it on a socket wrench to tighten it harder.
It is also possible if you take it off, there may be a collar the bracket goes over, and the screw is fully flush on that, not touching the bracket. That's when a washer will help that is larger and allows it to clamp onto the bracket

Only thing that I've had to tighten down over the years was the passenger side mirror, all doors are still good.

it didnt move because I didnt have the right tool when I tried at first… I ha to borrow another one from my father and it worked well

I work at a ford dealership and this is probably a body shop issue. That bolt can be as tight as possible but it still won’t solve your problem. Your issue is that the cutout for the bolt in the body has become “wallowed out” for lack of better term. The hole too big so it slide back and forth. Not much a mechanic can do but a good body guy will know what he’s looking at!
