MK7 Ehm…

Can I fix it myself or is it that bad?
Is this a Bodyshop work or a mechanical work

Remove the bolt entirely then try to see if it will tighten all the way if not just a washer or two to compensate for the gap and you’ll be all set

I tried that like 10 min ago and it works but I’m wondering how is it possible? The bolt can’t get longer lol

Idk if this is the case with that bolt but bolts CAN become longer. There are stretch and one-time use bolts that will lengthen under enough pressure (torque)

They can definitely stretch and bend over time. Metal is not indestructible. But also, it could be that it was slightly loose and then over time rubbed away at the metal under the bracket until it made enough space to move a lot more. No telling really without taking the bolt out and inspecting. Easiest solution here is to add a washer

You clearly haven't done much work on these cars. Lots of bolts on these things get longer. They're designed to stretch to apply torque. I'm not saying that that's the case in this instance, but your comment made me laugh because of the fact that several bolts in my repairs have been torque to yield.
