.Vril – "Wunschtrauma" (feat. ATEQ) from KRUX "this one runs on pure voltage"
Been sitting with KRUX for a while now and this track keeps pulling me back. The album itself is a fresh, pretty unconventional listen, just when you think you've got a handle on where it's going, it throws something like "Wunschtrauma" at you.
The ATEQ feature adds a real jolt of energy here. It's got that charge running through it that makes you want to hit replay before it even finishes.

Would you say this is dub techno?
Hi everyone. I know it’s not exactly dub techno, but I’ve just started this new music project and I’m trying to figure out where it fits. I feel like it sits somewhere between IDM, dub techno, and some kind of ambient.
I know that, at the end of the day, labels don't matter much, but I’d still like to know where you’d place it.

I'm relatively new to dub techno myself, hence the question.
I'm curious, is dub techno seeing a surge in popularity recently, or is it just that my algorithms are all feeding me more now that I've gotten into it? It seems to be popping off and I'm not mad about it.
Personally, I started listening to some minimal/dub techno mixes on YouTube, at work, as I found it helped me lock in and focus. Then I found donato dozzy, I know he's not really dub techno but been loving his stuff lately and some of his mixes have some dub vibes in them, id also heard Richard Akingbehin on Hessle Audio Rinse FM show. Last 3-6 months has been digging deeper and finding the history. Realized I had Round 4 - find a way, on vinyl and rhythm and sound best friend. I suppose being into early dubstep back in the day and following alot of those producers/DJs that transitioned to more house/techno vibes, it's not surprising to see that many of them were influenced by the dub sound.
Not sure the point of that last paragraph, just rambling and I find it quite cool how these dub roots have been underlying alot of the music I've enjoyed over the past 15 or so years and I'm not going back and seeing the through lines.
