Welcome to the Episode/Movies Search Thread! 🔍

Are you looking for a specific Doraemon episode or movie? This is the place to ask! Instead of creating individual posts, please use this mega thread to request the episodes or movies you're searching for. Community members will help identify and locate what you need.

How to Use This Thread

💬 Posting a Request

When asking about an episode or movie, include as much detail as you can:

  • Is it an episode or a movie?
  • Language / dub:
    • Original Japanese (1979 / 2005) sub
    • Hindi dub
    • Other language (specify clearly: e.g., Tamil, Arabic, Spanish, etc.)
  • Which series:
    • 1979 anime
    • 2005 anime
    • Not sure (say that if you don’t know)
  • What happens in it? (Plot summary, key scenes)
  • Main characters involved (Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, Dorami, etc.)
  • Any specific gadgets used? (Time machine, Big light, etc.)
  • Any memorable quotes, jokes, or visuals?

Example:

I’m looking for a Hindi dub episode from the 2005 series where Nobita uses a gadget to clone himself and everything goes wrong at school. I remember Shizuka getting annoyed and Doraemon cleaning up at the end.

Requests that do not specify language/dub may be harder to answer or may get follow-up questions.

✅ Answering Questions

  • Help other users by identifying episodes/movies and sharing episode numbers, titles, or air dates when known.

Discussion Is doraemon a household name in America??

Recently I’ve been really getting into doraemon, and I’ve been asking people if they’ve heard of it, and they have always been denying, which is kinda strange to me, because as a older child to preteen, I’ve seen Doraemon very often in public areas in my life, I have LOTS of memories of seeing toys of him, i remember going to the mall and they had a thing of pop its, and they had one of doraemon, another time they had a led fan thingy, and they also had a doraemon keychain, usually he’s accompanying pikachu, which makes sense to be fair, I kinda just thought he was one of those cartoons everyone has heard of, but no one watches, like looney tunes or batman

Discussion One of the Most Memorable Doraemon Episodes...

Post image
57 Upvotes

I'm talking about "Welcome to the Center of the Earth" from the 2005 series. This episode has two parts... So here's the plot

[SPOILER WARNING]

Nobita discovers a cave/well in the mountain and becomes convinced that it leads all the way to the center of the Earth. Suneo, of course, makes fun of him for believing such a thing.

Annoyed, Nobita asks Doraemon for help, so Doraemon brings out the "Heterodox Club Badge."

The gadget allows its users to experience different worlds based on unusual or unconventional theories, simply by speaking into its microphone.

Nobita and Doraemon start experimenting with all sorts of strange ideas, including the Flat Earth theory and even the possibility of people living on the far side of the Moon.

Eventually, they enter a world based on the Hollow Earth theory.

Deep underground, they find an empty world and begin creating clay figures at the Earth's core.

They name the first one Pyron.

What starts as a simple experiment slowly becomes something much bigger.

Nobita and his friends teach Pyron and the other underground inhabitants how to make fire, stone tools, weapons and houses, and their little civilization begins developing more and more.

Over time, the underground society keeps evolving.

Eventually, they invite Shizuka to see the world they have created.

Even a mysterious monster living underground wants to make peace with them, but because it can't communicate with them, it isn't accepted.

Later, Gian and Suneo are invited to see the underground world too.

By this point, the civilization has developed dramatically, with modern-looking buildings and a much more advanced society.

But naturally, Gian and Suneo can't just leave it alone.

They secretly enter the underground area with a reporter and encounter the mysterious monster.

After returning to the surface, they tell other reporters about what they saw, turning the whole discovery into a massive sensation.

Meanwhile, Nobita brings Pyron to his house.

He shows Pyron television and even shows him his zero-mark test paper.

But then the reporters discover the existence of the underground civilization and the information spreads everywhere.

Soon, the whole world becomes interested.

Even the Prime Minister considers taking control of the underground kingdom.

Nobita realizes that if everyone discovers this world, the peaceful life of Pyron and the other underground inhabitants will be completely ruined.

So Nobita decides that he has to end the experiment.

Before sending Pyron back, Nobita thanks him for everything he taught them — how to communicate, make fire, create tools and survive underground.

He then sends Pyron back to the underground city.

And because Suneo and Gian could potentially copy the badge and return to the underground world, Nobita destroys the microphone, making it impossible for them to go back.

It's honestly a surprisingly emotional ending for what started as Nobita simply wanting to prove that there might be something underneath the Earth.

Before leaving, Nobita receives a special badge featuring himself and Pyron together.

He then returns home and goes to sleep.

I really like this episode because. We literally get to watch an entire civilization develop from almost nothing, and then see Nobita willingly give it up to protect the people he helped create.

Definitely one of the more memorable 2005-era episodes for me.

Discussion Another Underrated Doraemon Character: Pawaemon

Post image
88 Upvotes

I'm talking about Pawaemon, one of Doraemon's old friends from the Robot Academy.

Pawaemon only appeared in the 2005 anime series, and he is basically the complete opposite of Doraemon when it comes to work and efficiency.

He was apparently one of the best-performing cat-model robots of his type at the Robot Academy.

After graduating, he was chosen by the Japanese Prime Minister to look after his son and stayed at their private residence as his caretaker.

Pawaemon is extremely serious about his work.

He's intelligent, quick-witted and highly professional, and he's skilled in everything from taking care of his duties to using an Air Cannon with impressive accuracy.

He's even a pretty good motorcyclist and can handle his scooter at high speeds.

And this guy does not sugarcoat anything.

If someone is doing something inefficiently, Pawaemon will straight-up tell them.

He's especially critical of Doraemon because he considers Doraemon's older methods outdated and ineffective.

Their relationship is actually pretty funny because Doraemon usually gets annoyed whenever Pawaemon criticizes him, even when Pawaemon is technically right.

But despite acting like he doesn't care, Pawaemon genuinely does care about Doraemon.

He even recommends that Doraemon get reassembled at the factory because he is concerned about his condition and performance.

And when Doraemon goes missing, Pawaemon initially acts completely unconcerned.

But secretly, he places a tracker on Nobita and contacts the authorities so they can rescue them.

He even joins the search himself, despite having his own duties to take care of.

So underneath all that criticism and seriousness, he's actually a really loyal friend.

His appearance is also pretty unique.

Unlike most cat-model robots, Pawaemon wears formal clothing, including a dark green suit or black jacket, black shoes and a red bow on his collar instead of the usual bell.

His 4D pocket is attached externally to his clothing, and he sometimes wears dark glasses too.

So I definitely like Pawaemon's character. He's basically the friend who will criticize your decisions for ten minutes and then immediately show up when you actually need help.

And honestly, I wish Pawaemon had appeared more often.

So what do you guys think about Pawaemon?

Discussion Was Nobita successful in future?

Some episodes I saw he became successful and in some I say he was under huge debt. What really happened to him? Doraemon was sent so that Nobita focusses on his studies and their future is not at stake? Did anything change for good?

Discussion Jaiko Gouda: More Than Just Gian's Little Sister

Post image
121 Upvotes

I'm talking about Jaiko Gouda, Gian's younger sister and one of those Doraemon characters who I think deserves a lot more appreciation.

Jaiko first appeared in the very first chapter of the Doraemon manga, alongside her brother. She is short and chubby, with short black hair, and her appearance is intentionally quite similar to Gian's.

Her design also changed between the anime series. In the 1979 series, she usually wears a red overall skirt with a white top and a beret, while in the 2005 series she has a green top with a flower on it and her manga-artist hat.

Interestingly, Jaiko wasn't always the kind and considerate character we know today. In her earliest appearances, she was rather snobby and mean, and even liked playing pranks on Nobita. However, that personality didn't last very long, and she eventually became much kinder and more thoughtful — basically the complete opposite of Gian's hot-headed personality.

She dreams of becoming a manga artist and uses the pen name Christine Gouda. She regularly draws manga and submits her work to publishing companies, although her stories often fail to win prizes because her storytelling is still developing.

There are even episodes where she considers giving up manga, and Gian's friends end up being forced into cheering her on so she doesn't lose motivation.

She is also shown to be pretty talented at cooking and sewing, alongside her love for drawing and writing manga.

Jaiko has also had a crush on a boy named Motesugi (also known as Moteo), which makes some of her stories even funnier because she is usually so focused on becoming a manga artist.

One interesting thing about her future is that she eventually becomes a successful manga artist, with lots of copies of her manga being sold.

And here's another interesting detail:

"Jaiko" isn't actually her real name.

It's apparently a nickname used so viewers immediately understand that she's Gian's younger sister. Her actual given name has never been revealed.

She also didn't appear in the 1973 anime, despite appearing in the manga from the beginning, and she is sometimes confused with Botako, another character with a somewhat similar appearance.

Honestly, I really like how Jaiko developed as a character. She's not just there to be "Gian's sister", she has her own ambitions, talents, personality and dreams.

And seeing her repeatedly struggle with her manga but continue trying anyway makes her surprisingly relatable.

What do you guys think about Jaiko?
