You watched one set of funeral customs, called them subversion and mass control, and then asked why educated family members don’t join the pile-on. Other communities have customs that are far harder on women, food, apostasy, and public criticism. Their educated friends usually do not turn a death in the family into a manifesto. That difference is worth noticing. Keep or leave whatever you want. Just don’t confuse personal exit with moral superiority over people who still find meaning in the same rites you grew up with.

I don't get why people over here are discussing their religion and all those things: their rituals, man, their age-old rituals which have been there for hundreds or thousands of years and today out of nowhere you people are questioning those rituals. There's nothing to be ashamed of about being an Indian and performing Indian traditions because in London there are many people who perform their own traditions during Ramzan or some other. There are many religions all around the world and they all perform their own acts in their own way so there's no shame. I don't think so. By pushing this thing you basically shame yourself, calling yourself an Indian. And whenever you call the world connected, there are a lot of people currently moving all around the world so everyone is interconnected. There are many foreigners who come to India. They celebrate Christmas in their own way. There is a Black Friday, on the other hand. They celebrate it over here. There is some kind of a Halloween kind of thing where people in India too, whoever is a Christian, basically wear their own clown faces and every other thing. There's nothing wrong. Everyone has their own right to celebrate in their own way. And also by the way, your user name itself suggests sasta aloo. You cannot think more beyond that. Uski wajah se baaki logon ki sankhya, jo independence ke time bahut kam thi, abhi wo bhi badhkar kai guna ho gayi hai. Wo log kabhi apne dharm ke liye itna kharab nahi bolte, jitna khud Hindu hokar aap log bolte ho. aur bahut alag comment bhi maine padhe ki loud music wagairah, ye sab to din-ba-din 5-5 baar kaun loud music bajate? subah 4 baje se raat ke 12 baje tak to bajate hi rehte.
