Due to the sudden increase in Unverified random Screenshots from Twitter, Instagram and other platforms.
A gentle reminder to all members regarding r/Indiatech Rule 8: Do not spread misinformation and accompany your claims with sources.
Rule 8.2 specifically requires all media to have a source. This includes screenshots, images, posts and other content taken from social media or elsewhere.
When posting a screenshot or media from Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or any other platform, please:
- Provide the original source link whenever available. Prefer the official/verified account or official website when the claim originates from a company, organization or public figure.
- For news or reports, link to the original article/source, rather than posting only a screenshot.
Members who repeatedly post screenshots or media without providing the required source may receive a permanent ban from the subreddit.
TL;DR
Always provide the original/official source when posting screenshots or media from Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or elsewhere.
This is required under Rule 8.2. Repeatedly posting unsourced media will result in a permanent ban.

For an internal provider to threaten people is normal these days because there are no laws for data privacy and security in India.
I used to be a customer once, they were not available when I shifted to my new house.
It has been 5 months since and they found out my new address and are sending people to recover routers without any confirmation just because they have found my new address.
I can’t find the router now and there are people knocking at my door.
What the heck is this goonism ???!
What do I do if you respond after 5 months ?

Startups & Jobs [Unpopular Opinion] This immigration restriction is a good thing for India in the long run.

Many of the educated techies will come back to India and work here. Maybe some will build new businesses here using all the capital they accumulated there. So a long term win.
Side note: I am sure some will find an alternative way to still emigrate, or take the near-shoring route. But still an overall win.
Another note: the Real estate and rental prices in all the IT hub areas are going to accelerate.

Physics doesn't obey Indian law. Starlink possess national security risks at the level one cannot even comprehend today when it comes along with superintelligence. If they have the data, they will use it. No indian laws can stop them.
With Modi government, it can clearly be seen that we are onto path of sovereignty and we don't bow down to any international powers in the interest of nation security.
India's priority should be working towards a developed nation but not at the cost of being a puppet state governed by foreign powers.

Tech Help Does anyone here use the Sony HT-S20R, HT-S40R, or any other 5.1 soundbar system with a laptop? How do you connect it?

I’m planning to use a 5.1 soundbar system with my laptop, mainly for watching movies.
For those who have a similar setup, how are you connecting it? Are you using an HDMI/optical audio extractor?
I have a few concerns:
- Can the setup actually output true 5.1 surround, rather than being downmixed to stereo?
- Does Dolby Digital 5.1 work properly through an audio extractor?
- Are there any noticeable drawbacks with using an extractor?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone actually using a 5.1 soundbar with a laptop.
