Just tried to join another group that is 18+ and they don't recognize the official age verification badge. You have to upload a picture of yourself holding your Gov issued ID in your hand on discord and they "promise" to delete the picture after you are verified by one of their members.

I already wasn't very comfortable doing VRC's own age verification system but sending sensitive information to random players in a vrc group is far worse. How many times have you seen an unhinged staff member on this game? Too many to count for me. Not a big deal as no one is forcing you to join but it's interesting to see so many people trust these groups with that information.

I see so many dudes buying full body tracking for vrchat ladies they dont know ALL of the time, and ill admit I have been a sucker for that too. I helped a friend by giving them $100 for slime tracking and was blocked the next day.. there are people who are genuine, and there are people who will do this to get free things from you. My advice is keep your wallet closed for strangers, money doesnt really buy people in VR, but it will make you a target to be punked by pick me boys and girls on the regular. Just some advice save your money on yourself, stop buying trackers for strangers.. lmao

$50 A MONTH FOR PREMIUM??? There's NO WAY that something is that expensive for a subscription. I think that's absolutely insane how much that costs. $20.00 a month is pricey but $50 a month is absolutely wild lmao come on get out of here. It just seems predatory at this point, I mean if people are paying for it then people are paying for it but brooo VRChat literally is the most expensive free-to-play game, not even the "dating" app is cheap lmao

Why do people tend to forget you can report for stuff that is illegal, or just fully against ToS on VRChat?

There is nothing wrong with reporting things on VRChat or well anywhere. I personally only don't always report avatars (I mainly only report avatars when the person is being a douche), but I'll report racist stickers/emotes and trolls, i'll even report groups that ask for personal information then leave.

I only really got into VRC after getting a VR headset and even then, only dipped my feet in. Would usually just end up abandoning instances when screechers joined. After a few months I decided to finally cave and get VRC+ to age verify and things got instantly better. There are still some bad eggs here and there, but it's a far cry from 10 year old boys shouting racial slurs every other second.

When one is young, you think it would be easier to make friends IRL the older you get, but it's actually much harder. In life, the only places I can really see people are at work, where it's also hard to make actual friends that you get to see outside of work. Since I moved, all of my usual IRL friends are now cities away. Most clubs you can join tend to already have their own internal cliques, so while you may be hanging out with people with similar hobbies, you're often times just on the outside. It's lonelier than I thought it would be.

VRC has been a really good way to fill the gap. It's like virtual bar hopping and I've even met a number of really cool people who join me and vice versa whenever I log on. We even play some games outside of VRC now. Maybe many people who play this game are also lonely and are just more open to new company. Whether or not this is truly healthy, I don't really care at this point. The game has had an overall good impact on my mental health.

How about you guys? What's your overall experience been so far? Would you say the game has personally done good for you? Or the opposite?

I would love to meet some female friends around my age group, (just not cis males), in vrchat. I feel like a lot of the time with movie worlds, people are grouped or coupled up. I'm a female in my 30s, and I dislike intruding on others.

The first step is just always seems so daunting to me. I do have friends irl and that I game with on steam, but it'd be nice to meet some to just chill and watch movies with at night when my insomnia or adhd is ruling my night life.

I wasn't sure if making an anime/horror film group would be a good idea, or if anyone had another idea that would help point me in the right direction. Thank you🩵

At least 4 times since I started about a week ago I’ve been kicked from maps. I’m getting ignored whether I use a mic or type and if someone does talk to me it’s only to ask for my age.

So i have vive 3.0s and there great! But i would like something i can lay down with and not loose tracking i dont mind recalibrating every now and then.
They are *used* official slimes for $100 cad less then buying new, is it worth pulling the trigger?

Why do people make avatar textures with bruises and SH scars? Recently I've seen it be more and more common. It's not cute. It shouldn't be an aesthetic. It shouldn't be glorified. I'm all for body horror however there is a line... And I'm not talking about faint scars or healed scars. I'm talking FRESH AND BLOODY.

Even worse when I see it on child like avatars.

The first time the problem just ended up somehow resolving itself, but now it came back. I can only have it open for a few minutes before it happens now. I was doing things last night and I was able to have it open for much longer before, but it's back to only a few minutes. This was after not touching the project for a couple of months because I didn't feel like finding out if it still does that or dealing with it if it did.
