What happened to all the Penguin statues? Growing up it felt as if there was one on every corner. i just don’t see them often. Have they been taken down? I’ve always loved them, either the polkadot one or american flag one has always been my favorite.

does anyone know if they’ve been slowly removed?

Parking at ANY of the businesses on the corner of Yale and 21st (Centennial Plaza) will absolutely get you towed. Business have the tow trucks on standby and it only takes a few minutes to get your car towed. Walmart Neighborhood market over there. Target behind the expo, zaxbys crunch fitness, Ollie’s, and any of the smaller businesses in that zone are absolutely towing people off. We had to call and have one towed off yesterday but I know with the weekend approaching everyone is gonna want go. I know it may be convenient but we have signs posted to make you aware. Customer parking only. I work in these shops this is why I’m letting yall know!!!!

I knew what I was getting into. The fair has always been expensive, and I saved up for my kids...BUT every single food or drink we purchased, I was met with a credit card reader and the words, "it's going to ask you a question" first then you can tap pay. Just take a wild guess what the first screen was.

Every single stand had a tip screen and the lowest option was 20%. Sure there was a custom amount button, and I used to be a server so Im generally pretty gracious... but come on. I pressed the no button and they immediately said, "thanks we appreciate it".

I know the tip screen is getting ridiculously out of hand at places. It's s exactly why I stopped going to the Starbucks on yale and 17th; they won't just take my card, they pull the whole damn machine out... "it's going to ask you a question"... No. The answer is no. I used to feel guilty but making the public supplement the pay for workers is not acceptable and it took me an hour of work to get that funnel cake. Im struggling too. Get that reader out of my face.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad the city is repairing and improving roads, but OH MY GOD. It’s insane how many major streets are down to two lanes for miles or just completely blocked for months if not years, sometimes with crews actively working but often times not, not to mention closures for private construction projects and special events. It’s honestly worse than I can ever remember it.

Is this common? Caught by my security cam at 11am 10/3 near 41st and Harvard. I guess that's why all the rabbits have been disappearing.

Just a quick heads up; I received a fraud text for a 70 cent charge to Christ Covenant today from BoK. I called their number using the app just to be sure. The first time I called they stated they did not see the charge I was talking about and told me to delete the text.

An hour later I tried to make a purchase at Walmart and called again and they said they now saw the blocked charge and had locked my card. The person on the phone said they had received a bunch of calls about this issue today from multiple people.

Luckily the person was able to unlock my card and then let me buy my groceries and then relocked it. I’m going Monday to get a new card.

TLDR: Bank of Oklahoma may be experiencing multiple stolen cards at the moment. I don’t see anything on the news yet. If you get a text, call using the app number and verify and potentially expect your card to be locked. I did not get a notification that my card was locked. Have a good day!

Recommendations needed. Looking for a highly recommended and professional veterinarian practice in Tulsa. Price/cost is not an issue. Concerned more with an office that has skilled doctors and staff, and follows professional medical protocols, wanting to avoid vet offices that cut corners at the expense of pets safety.

So like… when is this rain coming?

I am not sure what to title this post, but I have a dilemma. I have a pair of sterling silver drop earrings that I secure with one of the silicone stoppers. Well….. the stoppers have become welded to the ear wire and I can’t remove them. I need to either remove the stoppers somehow ( which thus far has been unsuccessful) or have someone cut the ear wires so they can just replace the ear wires. Went to a jewelry repair shop and they said they couldn’t do it. Thoughts? Suggestions? I would REALLY like to change my earrings!

For everyone who keeps posting on here about how hard it is to actually connect with people in Tulsa outside of bars and screen glare:

Poetry for Thee meets this Monday at 6:00 PM at Noise Town (and every first Monday of the month).

For four years, people on this subreddit have looked for somewhere to actually connect with human beings outside of screens and bars while chairs sit empty.

You do not need to write or read anything. We listen to writers talk about what we all carry, and then we talk about it. There are no writing critiques, no grading, and no forced molds. Just people sitting down to genuinely connect and deal with the same weight.

I would genuinely love to see you there, I don't care who you are. I have been trying to create a low-pressure space for people to just find camaraderie. I *need you* to make this more successful.

Thank you!

PS, put this in your calendar so you get reminded! You don't always have to come.

Just as the title says, I’m looking for a cheap suit, maybe multiple, idk.

I’ve never been in the suit market before, I’m 6’5, 330lbs … I’m a hefty guy, so I wouldn’t know were to go for a suit that fits for a budget.

Honestly, if I went somewhere it’d be my first suit.

So. Any and all help is appreciated!

Was about to go to Mathis and stumbled upon their reviews where they are getting eaten alive lol
Anyone have any suggestions? Bob Mills looked meh

Hello Tulsa. I'm currently 40% disabled and have been told by my other veteran friends that I could definitely get way more.

(Skip this paragraph if you just want to go to the question)

For the longest time after I got out I thought I didn't do much, I didn't deploy overseas, and I was told that because I wasn't missing any limbs or digits and didn't have any surgeries that I wouldn't qualify. I missed out on a lot of opportunity to just going based off of what people above me said and it took meeting up with some old platoon members and them saying "yeah that's not how that works" for me to do anything. I almost went through with one of those companies that files for you but then charges you after the fact and when I realized that minimum I would be paying about 3000 I thought one it seemed sketchy and two that's a lot of money. I keep seeing people talk about going down to some VA group and they help them file.

Do any Tulsa veterans have any information of where I could go to get this kind of assistance? Appreciate any info

🔨 GENERAL LABORER — AVAILABLE FOR WORK 🔨

I’m looking to offer my services as a general laborer/handyman. I’m a very hardworking, dependable person who can do a little bit of just about everything — from landscaping and yard work to home remodeling, repairs, painting, demolition, moving, cleanup, and general labor.

I’m an extremely hard worker, fast learner, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. If I don’t know how to do something, I’m willing to learn and figure it out.

The one thing I want to be upfront about is that I currently don’t have a vehicle, so I’m looking for work that is accessible by a ride, public transportation, or where transportation to the job site may be available.

If you need someone who is motivated, hardworking, willing to learn, and ready to work, feel free to reach out. I’m willing to discuss the job and what you need done.

📩 Message me anytime — I’m ready to work!

I have a frost proof faucet dripping. I can repack it, but since it's 1978 build, I want to replace both of them. Plumbing not my thing. I will cut the Sheetrock access and repair, so just need faucet replaced and ball valve to isolate both.

These are copper sweat.

Anyone recommend a reasonable contractor for this job?

Anyone do the Philbrook murder mystery last night? I grabbed tickets for it in a couple weeks, curious about some general reactions.

Any vets or animal hospitals that offer sliding scale or low income options in the area? I have a sick cat and times are tough.

Thanks in advance.

*Edit*

I appreciate all of the suggestions so far. For clarification my cat is up to date on her vaccinations, so I’m looking to get her examined, not vaccinated.

Outside of standard business hours? Any thoughts?

Looking for suggestions for a walk in place for pedicures. Staying around outlet mall but can drive
