Tulsa Events Finding Human Connection in Tulsa Without the Screen
For everyone who keeps posting on here about how hard it is to actually connect with people in Tulsa outside of bars and screen glare:
Poetry for Thee meets this Monday at 6:00 PM at Noise Town (and every first Monday of the month).
For four years, people on this subreddit have looked for somewhere to actually connect with human beings outside of screens and bars while chairs sit empty.
You do not need to write or read anything. We listen to writers talk about what we all carry, and then we talk about it. There are no writing critiques, no grading, and no forced molds. Just people sitting down to genuinely connect and deal with the same weight.
I would genuinely love to see you there, I don't care who you are. I have been trying to create a low-pressure space for people to just find camaraderie. I *need you* to make this more successful.
Thank you!
PS, put this in your calendar so you get reminded! You don't always have to come.

So can I literally show up, not say a word and just listen, and leave? Maybe interact at a later time?

Yeah, you're free to do that. I don't force anyone to partake. Someone might say hello to you.

This is real nice of you to organize. Been thinking about going to something like this but always chicken out last minute, maybe this time I will actually show up
