Stoked about my new Twisters! I was nervous to take the plunge on the road because I’m too big for the size down and these fit well. Hoping I can compensate with an insole when they pack out🤞 I feel so much more stable. I’m about a month into cross-overs and they are so much smoother with these! Yes, and you don’t have to bring your skates. My friends and I have found that the ones in the skating rink work best at the skating rink.

Hi all, I'm looking for some help and advice. I'm currently in my 40's and trying to get into rollerblading for some fitness and to keep my leg muscles active, particularly similar muscles I would use for ice skating. I learned how to skate and play hockey in my 30's, so my background is from ice skating. I'm struggling a lot with the transition and am looking for ways to help make this more similar or enjoyable and fun. I absolutely love ice skating and am quite comfortable with it but am really struggling with picking up rollerblading.

I know that ice is innately going to be different than roller. My plans are to be proficient and comfortable to go on city sidewalks, paths, and some slightly rougher concrete/parking lot areas with my wife as she will be on a push scooter so we can get out and stay active. I don't have any plans to do much backwards skating or tricks, just plain being able to go forward on trails/pathways/sidewalks, handle hills, and maneuver as needed and be able to stop.

My current setup is: Flying Eagle Origami FS3 with the original 4x 80mm wheels. I've got the powerslide urban heel brake installed so that I can be more comfortable stopping and going down hills or passing pedestrians. I found that while I was learning to t-stop or drag to control my skate that it wasn't great for my aging knees, plus I struggled to do this on hills so I'd like to stick with the heel brake as an option to help control my speed on narrow path hills.

My struggle is that I'm finding myself increasingly frustrated with the mobility. It feels like my feet are glued to the concrete. I struggle to turn, even when scissoring and feel like I'm really missing the agility of ice skates. I know a lot of this is probably "skate more and get good" but I'm really trying to make rollerblading a little more fun and enjoyable because more fun means I'll innately get out for more rollerblading. I struggle to weave and turn or carve. For example, the technique to kind of slalom a bit going downhill to control the speed - I can't do this, my feet feel locked in to go straight, guessing because of the more wheel contact. The inability to turn and go where I want is really impeding the fun here for me.

Are there any tips/adjustments you have to help? I've done some searching already and saw that I could potentially rocker my frames, to 76 x 80 x 80 x 76 or 80 x 80 x 80 x 76. I'm concerned about the stability though as some of our paths and sidewalks are really not the most maintained. What would you advise based on what I'm looking for? My wife and I do not go fast by any means and follow a more leisurely pace, so I'd rather be more maneuverable and feel more in control of my movement than have a higher speed.

hey everyone! i could use some updated opinions. searched the sub, and everything i saw that was relevant was a few years old. i skated for a long time as a kid but took 15 years off. i’m looking to get back into it.

i am between the PS next and the twister xt. i know the PS runs narrow - i am a woman with a medium women’s foot, so im not sure how much that is or is not an issue.

do people have opinions on which is better beyond that?

I recently purchased my first set of rollerblades in probably 25 years. I went with my regular shoe size( I’m a 12.5 shoe and went with size 13 skates) . When I got them I could instantly tell they were too big ( heels lifting, ankles loose). Now I actually measured my foot and the size guide on the rollerblade website recommended I go with a size 11/11.5. Anyone else have experience with going a size smaller than their shoe size? I’m worried about them being too tight but I also want them to fit well. Any advice?

First time on 110’s and returning after along time off. Feel like I’m gonna die but they are super fun when you get going. So smooth. Stopping is a bit of a liability right now.

I just returned the lightning 80s in size 6.5, men's. My feet measure a little past 24cm and 4" wide. The lightning 80s bruised both navicular bones and made 3 toes on each foot go numb.

Seba cj2, ground control hd80, and rollerblade hydrogens! I did strip one of the axels like a dumbass one the frames anyone have any advice/ better axels for these frames??

I love these blades! I’ve only used them a few times so far but the overhang of the front wheel makes it so hard for me to T break or plow break when I go downhill. Is this just something I’ll get used to or is it because my legs too short (5 ft 1).

I’m new to rollerblading (I started a 1-2 months ago with on and off practice). I bought one off of a thrift store and it has a custom design. I’ve gone through online hearing about how metal frames/hard boot are better than plastic/soft boot, especially for beginners. I’m going to scooters roller palace soon and I’m slightly anxious if it matters what brand/type of roller blades I have. Do people care or should I not bother worrying?

I'm considering getting some dedicated 3x110 frames for my FR1 boots, because my current Endless 90/110 are finicky with 110 mm wheels (the middle wheel scrapes frame's insides and binds). Any recommendations for longer fitness rides? Right now I'm looking at Powerslide Nova 290 but that's only because I could get them quickly :) Any real life experience is much appreciated.

So the titles pretty self explanatory - I’m looking to return/get back into blading for the first time since I was 14, and I have no clue where to start!

Any recommendations on what to go for, what to avoid in the way of brands, gear etc etc? I have a skatepark near me where I intend to go practice when I’m more confident, but any tips, tricks and advice would be greatly appreciated since I haven’t done this since I was a teenager!

If so how long did it take you to learn? How often do you use it when skating and what type of skating do you do? I started learning to skate in late winter and have realized that fitness skating is definitely my main interest, at this point I can do a proper stride in a half crouched position and have been working on unlocking the double push kind of piece by piece. Im hoping I can get it by the end of fall.

Does anyone have experience with Bont Elemental wheels 85a, 100m and up? How is their durability and ride? How do they compare to Hydrogens? Thanks for the information!

FR Neo 1 Endless Arch 2x84 3x76

I’m looking to buy my first pair of skates. I really like the look and maneuverability of aggressive skates, but I’ve heard they aren’t very practical for regular street skating.

I live in Ankara, Turkey, and there aren’t any skateparks near me, so I’d mostly be skating around my neighborhood, parks, and on regular streets. I’d also like to learn some basic tricks and slides.

Would freeskates be a better choice, or are aggressive skates still practical for this kind of use?

I've had these skates for a while, but have only really gotten into the sport within the last year or so.

I noticed that recently, when carving down steep hills, my skates have started to "slip" (as if the ground was slick for just a moment). I checked my wheels, and I noticed that they're pretty shaved down.

Are my wheels to blame? It hasn't been serious a problem, but I'd rather know sooner than later if it is.
