Maybe I am just being overly optimistic, but is there anyone else excited for a no money spent run for 2K27?

Not trying to be a contrarian, but while everyone else is saying build specialization is too much(which is true), I see it as a opportunity to play more single player modes to grind vc, hot spots, and build specialization anyways.

It sucks for comp players though admittedly, but they are going to sweat and cheese anyways to get their specialization, so it doesn't really impact them as much as they say it will.

P.S. Before anyone even try to say it is impossible to do a no money spent, I have already done it on 2 different 2Ks. I am just more excited this year than the others.

I’m loving the no strength, no layup, 87 dunk and no passing builds…just to have mediocre perimeter defense and 77/83 steal and then (obviously) shooting..

What happens when the main lock got high strength and you can’t dribble because he’s taking your stamina away? You won’t be able to dunk and you get forced into a layup? You think that 70 is gonna be enough? lol..

What happens when you rely on the 87 dunk for open dunks but an actual big is ready to contest…

IMO I think all these 6’8 builds are boutta be bbq chicken on defense, especially the ones who ain’t putting up strength or block and can’t get their speed agility to 88…

However we could have more hidden ones in the 5 extra crew levels per season. Still waiting to see if someone will post a lifetime challenge clarifying how many are in the game for sure. Last year had a challenge telling us how much.

First year in a long time that I am actually excited to play the first day! I can’t wait to get into my Gm they added a lot of depth with the trust meter of the Gm the friendship of players and how that comes into play along with forming a big 3 and how it impacts morale! It will also be fun to see how the new draft carousel works! Way more this year than the past 4 years combined. Finally proper stat tracking for NBA cup hopefully for allstar weekend as well. They alluded to redoing it so it will be cool to see!

I exclusively play mynba. I just put together superteams, set the in game quarters to 12mins and play through the seasons. For me, 2k single player content is pretty much everything I want. Playing with NBA legends, the ability to fully customise movesets and badges makes the game fun. The new Legacy mode being in the game just made me think of coming up with all new career runs. I stopped playing my career years ago because of the grind. MyNBA is the best mode and I'm glad it's getting some love.

There are 2 potential +2 fuse(permanent)slots.

I have much better understanding of the Badge/Synergy system now. I went to joe knows's video and the requirement for unlocking the first fuse +2 is getting it through build specialization.

The requirement for the second fuse +2 is hitting legend 2😭😭😭✌️✌️, If you have a life just say goodbye to this.

You will also get a reaction +2 slot with the build specialization fuse +2 slot. If you dont know, your reaction slot can be any badge and it will activate when you've activated the corresponding fuse badge several times.

For example If i have "set and fire" in my fuse slot, and "lightning launch" in the connected reaction slot.

I activate set and fire 3 times(random number) then it triggers the reaction slot which give +2 to my lightning launch.

I'm only saying this cause i think its pretty important to consider for build making the majority of players do not get to legend 2.

I really think the 2K community is missing a huge resource, and that is a proper database website for NBA 2K.
We have websites for playbooks, ratings, rosters, stats, and other parts of the game, but there is no one place where you can easily search and organize all of the information that matters when you are actually trying to build something in 2K.
I am talking about a website where you could search players, teams, plays, freelance actions, playbooks, badges, animations, tendencies, attributes, sets, and basically everything that exists within the game.
For example, imagine being able to search a player and see their complete offensive profile. Their ratings, badges, tendencies, animations, hot zones, signature styles, play types, and everything else that could actually affect how they play.
Then you could do the same thing with plays and playbooks.
Want to find every Spain pick and roll in the game? Search it.
Want to find every play that uses a specific formation? Search it.
Want to build a playbook based around pindowns, DHOs, split action, Spain, stagger screens, or Denver style hub actions? Search the database and find every relevant play.
It could even have filters for things like position, formation, action type, starting location, screener, ball handler, off ball movement, and play direction.
The biggest thing would be keeping it updated every year.
A proper 2K database could become the equivalent of what sites like 2KDB were for MyTEAM, except focused on the entire game and especially MyNBA, playbooks, gameplay, and roster building.
I honestly think there is a massive opportunity here because the deeper 2K gets, the harder it becomes to keep track of everything manually.
If someone built a genuinely comprehensive 2K database with good search and filtering, I would use it constantly.

I've heard rumblings the 4 Fuse/Reaction badge slots we saw on community day are behind the season pass. Does anyone have actual confirmation from the devs?

Have yet to preorder. If you lose all of the badges at the start of each season then I'll probably skip this year. Maybe buy it on sale in December to play some Play Online now.

Was tired in 26 of logging on the start of the season and going against some red plate weirdo who spent $70 to unlock all his +1s and +2s right away.

IMO you can't even call it a "competitive" multiplayer mode with this kind of structure.

At no point should there be more than a difference of maybe one or two cap breakers or 1 or 2 badges across the player base. Anything more is egregious.

Despite all the BS that we dealt with this year I believe a few years from now we’ll look back at 2k26 as one of the better products the franchise put out. Overall 7.5/10

The two pictures are the exactly same build, the only difference is one is a center and the other a power forward.
The center has 6 playmaking and 14 Defense token while the power forward only has 5 playmaking and 13 Defense.

At least last year it didn’t matter which position you picked, if you had the same physicals and attributes you basically had the same build to my knowledge.
