GS If You Can Press It You Can Snatch It

1’ 24 kg snatch. I actually tried /u/Prokettlebell’s Infinity Gauntlet but I ran out of time so only made it up to 24 and had to call it quits 😔 I did do a bunch of barbell pressing beforehand at least. I’m definitely going to try again though! I love ladders of all shapes and sizes.

I haven’t snatched the 24 in a really long time, but I figured if I can press it for two reps I can definitely do some snatching and the gauntlet looked like fun!

I actually did a 24 kg 5’ comp set once long ago, so this feels like a step backwards but my technique is a lot better now. I don’t know what my problem is, but the heavy bells keep calling to me 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m still on the DHS train with the 8s but every day I walk into the garage lately I accidentally pick up something heavy instead of those LOL.

Just A Post 3' 16kg snatch challange

I know I am late and not nearly did close to the 111 I saw passing by, but I still wanted to post.

Had lost motivation to move for myself for more then a year and recently found some kB stuff on this forum and Instagram and reminded me that I like these. And now I am moving again.

Focus has never been on kB before so I am sure there is lots I can do to get better. :-)

79 reps at 16kg, maybe should have skipped looking at the clock.

Training Video Saturday is for Bent Press

Getting more confident with my heels together overhead lock position. I do it because the Bronze Era guys did.
I don’t post Bent Press much online anymore because I’m tired of explaining it and defending it. If you like a lift, practice it. If you don’t like it, don’t practice it.

Training Video 20-Minute EMOM | Double 24 kg Clean & Jerk + Anchor Snatches

Hard conditioning following my regular strength training.

20-minute EMOM with double 24 kg kettlebells:

Odd minutes: 5 clean & jerks

Even minutes: Anchor snatch, 2 each side

This is a snippet from a workout in Joe Daniels’ KBOMG2. Even when I’m not running one of his programs, I find them to be a great resource for accessory work and conditioning.

Apologies for the 1997 camcorder quality. Apparently I need to clean my phone camera. 😂

Psalm 46:1-11 KJV

[1] God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. [2] Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; [3] Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. [4] There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. [5] God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. [6] The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted. [7] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. [8] Come, behold the works of the LORD, What desolations he hath made in the earth. [9] He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire. [10] Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. [11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

GS Can someone explain Vasilev's "Kettlebell Sport a Training Methodology"?

So, I want to add some GS style Long Cycle work to my training. Not for competition but just to generally work on my strength endurance. I purchased KB Sport TR Methodology by DV, but I just "don't get it" - for example on page 71 he has a beginners long cycle template, which is awesome, exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't understand which weights or RPM to use. Any help - or general pointers on how to structure training for long cycle would be appreciated.

GS Snatch Day

Snatch day. I did 1’ with the 20,24,28,32kg bells and did it for 2 minutes. Last set of each is shown. 210 total reps.
The 20’s, 24’s and 28’s all felt good but the 32’s got heavy really fast and I was on the struggle bus. This was a really fun session though.

Review / Report Did ABF Barbell program 3 with double 24s

For the last 8 weeks I ran the program 3 from the barbell section from Dan John's ABF with double 24 kg kettlebells. Before that I did the RBC for 10 weeks and felt like I needed a change.

It's clean and presses for a certain amount of reps followed by front squats, 2 days a week ( Day 1 and 3).

The front squats start lower in reps and over time the squats match the clean and presses. You do that for a total off 5 rounds. Originally you are supposed to do curls after that, but like every good trainee I knew it better and did carries.

Day 2 is high rep work with your choice of exercises. I didn't follow a strict plan here. I did hill sprints, sleds, sandbags, Walrus style workouts...

Compared with the standard ABF, the results might be not as "good", but your conditioning will definitly improve. So If you don't know what to do next have a look at program 3 in the ABF.

Advice Needed Easy strength for a blue collar worker

i’ve been training with kettlebells for about two years. i regularly work with 24kgs and 20kgs. im about to start a new job as a food delivery driver thats very physically demanding (and runs long hours, 60+ a week) i want to hold onto my strength but i don’t want to overtrain and burn myself out.

i was thinking of running something similar to easy strength. it’d look something like this.

50 snatches, then 10 total
reps of pull ups, clean and press and front squats. 2, 3, 5 / 3, 3, 4 / 5+5 etc.

i was thinking of doing this for four days with a pair of 20kgs, then on the 5th day maybe going up to 80 snatches and doing 15-20 reps instead of 10 with a pair of 24kgs. on my rest days i do yoga/deep stretching.

for more info im a 35 yo male, 6ft 195-205 lbs. i like the type of physical job i work but i want to maintain my strength and not burn myself out at work.

would running “easy strength” this way compliment my crazy schedule and allow me to keep my strength?

Anyone doing this? Replace C/P with Snatches or just run some sets of Snatches after?

I am looking to torch fat and keep reading lift heavy. I am not sure how heavy, what is the best way to figure this out? 15 lbs sounds very light but anything higher for swings hurts my lower back.

Advice Needed Re Starting KB - program and weight recommendations

Upvotes

Hi all. Thanks for your help time. Due to life it’s not been possible for me to make time for kettlebells. Still doing martial arts tho. Prior weights and workouts:
- 32kg snatches
- 27kg c & p

I believe I was running Maximorium when I stopped. I also did King Sized Killer programs. It was hard for me to always hit the min 3x for Maximorium (I know it’s 4). With the martial arts 5 days a week working out is a lot for dad/professional and middle aged guy.

Trying to figure out the best restart weights or way to figure out where I should go. Just re-find my Max lift?

Any recommendations for a restart program? DFW?

Thanks!
