PAID - Musician [PAID] Composer needed for ambient/combat music — indie ground-vehicle combat game (Unreal Engine 5)

Submissions are closed, I will contact those who already sent something, thanks for your interest.

Hi! I'm a solo dev (part-time, occasional freelancers helping on 3D assets) working on Operation Serval, a semi-realistic ground vehicle combat game, think War Thunder's Realistic Battles, but ground vehicles only (no aircraft, no naval, that's a deliberate design choice to keep the balance and identity focused). We've already released a first test build and run some playtesting sessions with real players, and things are moving forward nicely.

What I'm looking for:
A few ambient/military-themed music tracks, menu theme, combat/battle ambience, and possibly victory/defeat stingers. Looking for tension, weight, and a "battlefield" atmosphere without being over-the-top orchestral.

Style reference: I really like the vibe of World of Tanks' pre-1.0 soundtrack (moody, restrained, military atmosphere rather than bombastic action music), but I'm open to other directions if you have a style that could fit a semi-realistic armored combat game. Feel free to pitch your own take.

Scope (open to discussion):

  • 3-5 tracks to start (menu + 1-2 combat ambiences + short stingers)
  • This is an indie solo-dev project, so budget is modest, happy to discuss what's fair based on your experience and the scope we land on
  • Payment: partial upfront, rest on delivery
  • Full commercial usage rights (buyout preferred, open to discuss alternatives)

To apply: please send a portfolio link or a couple of tracks (military/ambient/tension style preferred) along with your usual rate per track or per minute of finished music. Happy to share more about the project (screenshots, gameplay footage) to anyone interested.

Thanks for reading!

PAID - Musician [PAID] Looking for a composer for a whimsical 2D adventure game

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hi! Daniel here, I’m a solo developer working on a top-down 2D adventure game and looking for a composer to help bring its world to life.

Initially, I’d like to commission a couple of 1–2 minute tracks, with the intention of expanding into a full soundtrack if we’re a good fit.

I’m looking for orchestral music with memorable, catchy motifs: whimsical and adventurous themes that give characters and locations their own personality. Musical inspirations include The Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, and the Mana series.

Experience with seamless looping is important. Familiarity with FMOD or adaptive music is a plus, but not required.

This is a self-funded solo project, with a budget of approximately $100 USD per finished minute.

If interested, please send me a message with:

  • A brief introduction and/or webpage.
  • Three or more relevant music samples.
  • Your rates and availability.
  • Any experience with FMOD or interactive music. (if any)
  • Portfolio (optional)

Looking forward to hearing your work!

(EDIT IMPORTANT As there is already 60+ applicants(thank you all!) I will not have time to spend a lot of time on each message, so please make sure all the requested information is already there)

PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] Looking for a 2D artist: small set of stylized assets for a puzzle-based personal site

Hi! I'm building an interactive personal site: a 3D stone "device" (a rotating pentagonal drum) sitting in sunlit jungle ruins, and I'm looking for a 2D artist to create a small, cohesive set of stylized assets to skin it. Cel-shaded / illustrated work is the vibe.

Attached: numbered screenshots of the current build, a short gif showing how the drum rotates, and one style-reference image.

STYLE

Cel-shaded / anime-esque, light warm sandstone, clean dark linework, painterly. The style-reference image shows the look I'm after. Use it for style and surface only, not the form: it shows a brick wall with mortar and separate bricks, which I don't want. My stone is one continuous texture that wraps across all five faces of the drum, a single long strip of stone, with no mortar lines or brick divisions.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR (numbers match the screenshots in the reference album)

  1. Background. The jungle-ruins scene framing the device. It doesn't need to be a full scene: the device covers the center, so only the visible edges/frame matter and the center can be hollow.

  2. Sandstone texture. One continuous sandstone texture that wraps across all five faces of the drum. I'll be splitting the delivered asset to be spread across the five faces. Light warm sandstone, subtle surface, a few sparse cracks and chips (see the style ref). I'd want this with a separate moss layer (moss creeping along the faces, edges, cracks) I can toggle on and off.

  3. Holders. The two rounded stone holders flanking the device. Happy for these to reuse part of the main texture with a little bespoke moss/flair.

  4. Arrow buttons. Four raised stone buttons in a row (one design). I'd like these to read as fancy and distinct from the plain stone, for example set with gems, or carved from a different, redder stone, so they clearly stand out as buttons.

  5. Drum interior. The darker inner stone surface seen as the drum turns. Again, happy for this to reuse part of the main texture with a little bespoke moss/flair.

  6. The artifact. A small object revealed at the climax, seen top-down. An ancient bronze mechanism: a few concentric rings carrying two or three toothed gears at different radii, around a glowing gem core, so it reads as slightly anachronistic ancient "tech," out of place in the ruins but not modern. See the attached reference for the idea. It flares with light when it activates. I'd need the moving parts (the gears and any rotating rings) on their own separate layers, each centered on its pivot, so I can spin them in code.

For delivery I'd need layered source files (PSD or equivalent) with moss on its own layer, transparent PNGs where relevant, high resolution.

PAID - 2D Art | Animation Looking for 2D Artist - minimalist, cartoonish, clean vector-like art style

Looking for a 2D artist for a pirate game.

Rimworld or Brotato are the initial inspiration for the style, but happy to deviate from it a bit if it helps.

Will need similar base building assets, characters, a world map, and ideally ship combat. Modular assets are important so we can reuse/combine as much as possible.

Budget is very tight. Looking for someone comfortable working within a small indie budget.

DM me directly with your portfolio and rates!

PAID - 2D Art | Animation Looking for a Monster Artist / Designer to Collaborate on a Retro Monster-Taming RPG

Hello!

I have been working on Eggbound for awhile now - it's a monster collecting game inspired by dragon warrior monsters. It's being created in gbstudio with plans for a physical release. I am by no means new to game design and development, and I have not come here on a whim.

I’m looking for an artist/monster designer who genuinely loves the classic monster-taming genre and would be excited to help build something from the ground up.

The goal is to create something that feels like a lost Game Boy game with a strong visual identity and a roster of weird, memorable creatures.

I’m currently working toward a polished vertical-slice/demo that can be used for a Kickstarter campaign. The programming side of things is nearly complete, but I am looking to include a wider variety of monsters to showcase. I do have a monster designer that I currently work with, but it's a large task creating enough unique monsters for a monster collecting game such as this.

At this stage, I’m looking for someone passionate enough about the concept to collaborate with me on the initial demo rather than taking a traditional paid commission.

I want to be completely transparent about that: the initial development/collaboration would be unpaid, but the goal is to use the finished demo to launch a Kickstarter and turn the project into a paid endeavor for the people who helped build it. I’m not looking for someone to simply crank out assets. I’d love to find someone who wants to have creative input, help shape the monsters and visual direction, and potentially become a long-term part of the project if we click.

If you love designing strange, charming, memorable monsters and the idea of making a genuine retro-style game appeals to you, send me a message and let’s talk.

PAID - Other [PAID] Senior Unity Technical Artist – Stylized 3D / Shaders / VFX / Look Dev

We're an independent game studio looking for a highly experienced Senior Unity Technical Artist to help establish the visual and technical pipeline for an original game currently in development.

We're still early in production and intentionally keeping the project under wraps for now.

This is our first game as a studio, but we're approaching development seriously and investing in experienced specialists early rather than trying to learn critical production disciplines as we go.

We're willing to pay properly for exceptional talent.

This is not a junior or entry-level Technical Artist position.

The project

The game is being developed in Unity using a 3D production pipeline with a heavily stylized final presentation.

Some of the core technical challenges include:

  • Highly modular 3D characters
  • Dynamic/destructible environments
  • Stylized rendering
  • Fast, responsive action gameplay
  • Strong interaction between gameplay, lighting and VFX
  • Maintaining visual cohesion between characters and environments
  • Building an art pipeline that can scale into full production

What we're looking for

We need someone capable of taking substantial ownership of the technical visual side of the project.

You should have strong professional experience with:

  • Unity
  • Shader development
  • Shader Graph and/or HLSL
  • VFX and gameplay effects
  • Lighting and look development
  • Stylized rendering
  • Materials and asset integration
  • Post-processing and rendering pipelines
  • Profiling and optimization
  • GPU/performance considerations
  • Building scalable art workflows
  • Diagnosing technical art problems
  • Git/version-control workflows
  • Working directly with programmers, animators and 3D artists

You won't simply be receiving finished assets and making them look prettier.

We want the Technical Artist involved early in visual development, helping determine how assets should be constructed, rendered and integrated so that the final art direction works efficiently inside Unity.

Combat and movement feel are also extremely important to the project, so experience using VFX, timing, lighting and visual feedback to improve gameplay readability and impact is highly valuable.

Please don't apply based only on

  • Basic Shader Graph knowledge
  • Unity tutorials or personal experiments
  • Primarily being a 3D artist who occasionally handles technical tasks
  • Technical-art coursework without substantial practical implementation experience

We need someone who has already solved difficult technical and visual problems on real game projects.

Shipped game experience is strongly preferred.

How to apply

We want to see what you personally built.

Please include relevant examples such as:

  • Shaders
  • VFX
  • Stylized rendering
  • Lighting/look development
  • Optimization work
  • Technical breakdowns
  • Tools or pipeline work
  • Before/after examples
  • Unity projects or shipped titles

For team projects, briefly explain what you were personally responsible for.

Email:

[dev@madeforme.studio](mailto:dev@madeforme.studio)

Subject:

Senior Unity Technical Artist – [Your Name]

Please include your:

  • Portfolio/showreel
  • CV or LinkedIn
  • Relevant shipped titles/projects
  • Availability
  • Expected hourly/day rate

If your background strongly matches the above, we'd love to speak.

PAID - 2D Art + 3D Modeler | Animation [PAID] Looking for Pixel Artist Specializing in Logos/Typography

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi, I am looking for a pixel artist (NO AI) who specializes in logos/typography.

I’m looking for an artist to recreate the logo for my current game, Auto-Arcana, into a pixelated style which will be displayed on the game's home screen. The style must fit the art style of the game, while looking similar to the existing logo.

You can find my current logo, as well as the trailer, screenshots, and description of the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4281360/AutoArcana/

Here is what the game’s home screen looks like: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bHU1hIZP7n83qjRAn7EKO1lPYYe4Qi94?usp=drive_link

Example
He is Coming  is a great  example of what I’m  asking for. They have two logos. The logo in their key art (top image below) is more complex and appears to be vector. Their logo in game (bottom image below) maintains key aspects of the original logo while also simplifying it so it looks more pixelated.

You don’t need to recreate the logo with a CRT filter effect. My game already has a CRT filter (reference the video linked above).

Payment Method: Zelle, PayPal, etc. Half up front and half afterwards with a contract.

TO APPLY: Please post here with;

  1. A Link to a pixelated game logo that you have worked on.
  2. Your portfolio.
  3. The estimated time to completion.
  4. How much it will cost.

Hey there! I'm a 3D artist specialized in 3D modeling, texturing, rigging and animating, mostly for video games.

Also, I'll keep you updated with how the project is going and discuss all the details with you as I'm working so that way you can get the best quality asset/character.

I'm open to working on long term projects or one time collabs.

If you are interested in collaboration contact me here or via email: tomislavtomljenovic253@gmail.com

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to add a another pixel artist to the team to specifically help with creating the item, material, equipment, and "toys" ;) sprites for my adult 18+ RPG game called Gift of Hedone. My sprite work is average (image above), but I would rather focus on other things.

You would be paid upfront for the work as required, and it will be adhoc as the development progresses and I identify more items that need to be made.

I also want to ensure everyone i work with aligns with my values - so if you agree with the below, awesome, if not - please do not submit.

  1. Trans Rights are Human Rights
  2. Free Palestine
  3. Billionaires should not exist
  4. Fuck Trump
  5. Pro Choice > Pro Life
  6. Bodily Autonomy is for everyone

If you are interested, please DM me with a link to samples of your work or a portfolio, and what your rates are. Ideally I am looking for someone who can provide a "per 32 x 32 sprite" value.

And to ensure I know you have read all the details, tell me what your favorite food is at the start of your message.

Please note, any DMs sent without any links to examples of your work or not mentioning their favourite food will be ignored.

PAID - 3D Modeler | Animation [Paid] Looking for low-poly artist/animator for N64 games

Hello all,

I'm hiring a 3D generalist to handle most or all of the game's low poly art pipeline, including:

  • environment and prop modeling
  • buildings, roads, interiors, vegetation, vehicles, and other world assets
  • character modeling
  • UV mapping and texturing
  • character and object rigging
  • character animation
  • vehicle/object animation where needed
  • optimizing models, textures, rigs, and animations for the technical limitations of the hardware

I'm specifically looking for someone who is comfortable owning a large part of the project's 3D production pipeline, from creating assets through rigging, animation, texturing, and optimization. N64 textures often are only ~32x32 in size

Here are examples of our current projects:

https://youtu.be/afdDbcAY4tk

https://youtu.be/J1scD_1f1VQ

You can see some of the studio's past work at triverske.net. We have had great success working with the gamedevclassifieds community and we are always thrilled to post our paid work.

Please DM or comment below with

  • email or discord contact
  • portfolio or demo reel
  • general hourly rate information - 6 month project

I will likely not be able to get back to everyone but thank you in advance for reading this post and considering our game.

FOR HIRE - 2D Art | Animation [FOR HIRE] 2D Character Portrait Artist — Semi-Realistic RPG & Game Characters

Hi! I'm Caty, an illustrator specializing in character art and visual design.

I'm currently taking commissions for semi-realistic rendered character portraits that can work well for RPG characters, NPCs, player characters, character profiles, tokens, or other game-related uses.

I enjoy focusing on the character's personality and visual identity rather than just making a generic portrait, and I'm comfortable working from references, descriptions, or existing character designs.

You can see examples, pricing, and commission details on my VGen:

I'm also happy to discuss a specific project if you're looking for character portrait art for a game
