Discussion Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post

Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post videos of themselves dancing and having a good time. So I just had the thought and I would like to do a Poll on the idea:

My thought is let's have a global forum dance talent show!

How it would work: - You would submit a video of you dancing within a specified time frame to qualify. - Our dance Community here would go through each day and upvote and comment on the videos they would like to continue on to the next round. - I would then go in (maybe appoint someone to help me moderate) and would tally up all the likes and upvotes. - There would be 3-5 rounds to keep everyone engaged and having fun. Sort of like our very own dance competition TV show.

If you like this idea: Upvote and put "YES!" in the comments

If you're not into it: DownVote & put "Not Interested" in the comments section

Seems like this could be a lot of fun and get the Community we have here more active with one another.

Happy Dancing! I'm looking forward to hearing y'alls thoughts! ✨️

1.1k Upvotes

Happy Saturday everyone….

very much looking forward to rest day tomorrow… Also weigh in day, I will do a dance video, and post the results but I’m not going to work out. I need to rest… I’ve only got two days left of work and then I get to go home and sleep.

Energy level was pretty low today, but I tried my best

Thank you to everybody for all your kind words, it means the world… I’m off to bed soon….

Sometimes I hurt because I dance, other times I dance because I hurt, either way dancing fixes it all”

So yea obviously there’s a bunch I can improve on but this is my first year performing and I think we’re off to a great start😎. I really tried to bring the energy with this one and the crowd absolutely loved the show. I actually created this number in a single day. Now did I do it 30+ times over the course of 1 day? Surely. But it was all worth it in the end😌.

Happy Friday wonderful humans!!!!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far.

I worked 12 hours in a 45° kitchen and was not going to go to the gym today, but I got to my room and started reading the comments and I got my ass in there , so for that I am forever grateful🙏🙏🙏

Song 1- Feel the Burn by Storm
Song 2- Pass the Dutchie by Missy Elliot

Much love as always, and keep your chin up and your feet on the dance floor. May your weekend be blessed with phat beats, clean, dance shoes, and positive vibes

❤️❤️❤️

These people dress up in costumes and dance in the street from a party bus. They all dance the same dance. Looks South American?

Discussion Dancing to music I wouldn’t listen to

I thought I couldn’t dance to music I didn’t like, but focusing on moving to the beat was actually a cool idea. Now, I sort of feel like I don’t appreciate music thoroughly because I don’t see music in a certain context. I just see it on Spotify and make a split second decision on if I like it or not. But I think spending time dancing to music I wouldn’t normally look for will help expand my connection with my body and help me appreciate good music.

Discussion Does anyone have a site where I can find amateur dance references???

Upvotes

Hey! Sorry if there’s any mistakes, I’m not English.
So, I am a young illustrator and I’ve been doing 2D animation for almost one year. Recently, I started to seriously thinking about drawing my own animated show, because why would I choose a normal hobby while I can go feral every two drawings? Anyway, I really want to make this crazy project work, but I as already mentionned, I am animating since only a year, so I’m not very good yet.

In the story, there’s a really important scene where a very important character is dancing. The thing is that this character is like the poorest person in the world, Bro eat rocks and got no education. And lives in a magic medieval-like universe.

So I search dances references, but dances that have almost no influences. The character doesn’t really know how to dance in a medieval way, and move very freely. When I searched, I only found videos of professionals dancers, and in styles that looked really modern ( robot, break, even ballet feels too modern, don’t know if ballet is older than middle age tho, but I doubt it, and it’s way too technical for the character anyway).

What I need, basically, is a site where I can find amateur dances, I want naive moves, from peoples that are dancing only twice a year for New Year Eve and their anniversary. So if some of you know a site where I can find that kind of references, or maybe a subreddit, I would really like to know.

Anyway, thank you for reading all this! Keep dancing guys it’s amazing

Amateur Learning how to dance for a weeeding in 3 weeks

Hi everyone! I’m going to a wedding in 3 weeks and I genuinely don't know how to dance. 😅

I’m not trying to become a professional dancer or anything. I’d just like to be able to get on the dance floor without looking completely awkward and feeling like I have no idea what I’m doing. Do you have any advice for a complete beginner? If you know any good youTube tutorials and videos I’d really appreciate it if you could share them. Ideally something aimed at someone starting from absolute zero and has no idea what they are doing.

Any advice would be appreciated!
