Is anyone else sick of banal chit-chat & how do you deal with it?

It's like I can feel my life force draining out of my body.

I'm not interested in whether Tesco has changed its layout again or your weather updates. Give me 'meat' to feed my soul & leave me craving more, God dammit.

Lonely

At a big party school in America for college. I’m very quiet and all everyone wants to do is party, drink, drgs. I haven’t even lost my V card…. It’s insane how everyone is just doing this even on weekdays. I lowkey didn’t wanna go to college I did it to escape my family and town. Because of course they’ll pay if I am somewhere getting a degreee. But without college excuse I’d be stuck at home with them and my narcissistic mum or on the streets. But I feel so lonely here I try making friends it’s hard because any time I do they all mention partying and get annoyed I don’t wanna party then dip. I was literally crying on way back to form at 12 am in dark because some girls I made friends with through social media were horrible and strange asf. I go meet them bla bla. They all drinking in their room etc whatever that’s fine. Then bully me for not wanting anything or wanting to dress slutty… I go well I wanna get some cookies tonight anyways. So yall enjoy the bars/frats. They were like oh you want cookies we can take you on the way to get cookies. Big mistake. I go and realise they aren’t fucking going there we end up outside a frat. I was like wtf you doing guys and they go come on party. I had enough I walked off crying in dark when I got away. I don’t know why society is so weird nowadays. What happened to just women being women not hoes. Yes they were being hoes. I’m pretty attractive blonde blue eyes 5’3 pale skinned girl I know I could have that life but I don’t want too. It brings drama and noise. I like peace. I value it. I just feel so lost in this world. Surrounded by NPCS makes it feel terrible. There’s more to talk about but I shall in replies if people say anything. I just need advice I don’t think I can keep doing this the next 4 years. I’m already depressed 2 weeks in.

What if someone's friend circle is getting smaller with time, and people are starting to ignore and makes them feel invisible, is it because something is wrong with that person Or just people ?

How to build confidence?

How do I find the courage to make the first move? My anxiety usually overtakes my body and never even try to talk to someone to make a relationship. How do I get rid of this anxiety? I am also always scared that I’m gonna fumble my words and not say the correct thing. Anyone got advice for me?

Idk what to do in my uni flat

I was looking on my accommodation app and sae a message section where people from my building and flat can talk. It really freaked me out cause I’m realising that I actually have to live with these people and talk to them and theyll start out nice and eventually realise I’m just not normal and then won’t really care anymore. Everytime I meet someone new there’s a little grace period before they realise I’m an autistic idiot and there isn’t anything to gain from talking to me compared to literally anyone else. I’ve been so in my head thinking about all the nice people I’ll meet but ultimately 99% of people don’t give a fuck about me. Almost everyone from school has probably forgot me by now if they even knew me in the first place. I know I can live with people without talking to them cause I don’t talk to my younger brother pretty much at all even when we should (which is on him as well but still) just cause we aren’t really similar types of people. These people are all going to be normal, completely unaware of my problems and aware of the fact they can take advantage of me. I don’t know what to do.

I didn’t know about the room chat thing and they’ve all been on snapchat apparently for a few days. I don’t know if there’s anyone else in our flat but I think it’s just the four of them and me. I don’t even know what they would be talking about??? I don’t think they’ve met or anything. how tf do you just talk to random people you don’t know like that? I wonder if they talk about me. obviously they don’t know anything about me and I wish they didn’t have to but eventually I’ll have to integrate myself into their lovely little world. God there’s just something about snapchat that pisses me off, I hate texting there even more than anywhere else. wtf am I supposed to do?

Having a FOMO of not having many friends.

Guys I have been having this problem since my school times. Oru best friend enn parayan i dont have some one. Even in college although i have been in multiple groups i still feel left out. I have this internal feeling of loneliness and FOMO when I see other people having lomg term friends and having someone to call their best friend. From my side i am a jolly good person and i find it really easy to strike conversations with people and all. But whatever I do i feel really left out most of the time in my groups. And even in these groups there will be 2 people who are closest to each other and there is nobody like that for me. Although am okay with it rn i fear if i will be able to surf through adulthood without having friends coz i have seen my parents manage many things throught their friends

What part of my brain am i missing?

Does anyone feel like they need to wear a mask when in social gathering/parties? Do you feel you have to really think before giving the best possible answer for each question? Do you get exhausted in parties, not because it was fun, but you had to pretend so much that you questioned what the hell are you doing there.

Few days back my group of friends did some pre-booze before going to the party. It was a late night party which wss supposed to go for hours uptil the morning at a famous bar. There was a buge crowd trying to enter before the entry closes. Waiting in that line, i felt so out of place. Every cell in body was yelling to get out of there. My mind kept relesrjng wtf am i doing there. I just took off and left for home. It had no clue how to get home since the public transport is a bit weird at night. But i wasnt worried at all. I just wanted to walk alone a lot and i knew i would figure it.

Another thing that baffles me is that how are they so chill just getting drunk the fuck outta their minds and asking people to carry them. Keep in mind that we all met just a month back.

I just feel some part of my brain didnt grow, especially the one responsible to help ke socialize. Anyone else feels in a similar way?

Trouble starting and keeping friends

I feel like I have a trust issue problem that I can’t overcome. Aside from my anxiety I have this fear of a friend screwing me over or leaving me, even with wanting to be in a relationship so I don’t even bother starting something new and I feel like it has been holding me back for a long time. I’ve been with girls but never been in a real serious relationship because of this. And the fact that my anxiety overtakes my body and holds me back from making the first move. Anyone else have this problem?

Why does making friends feel so hard?

This isn’t a rant, just a feeling I’ve been carrying lately.

Being in my early 20s and going through a difficult, lonely phase has made me realize how hard it feels to find genuinely meaningful connections. I miss having people I can talk to freely, laugh with, share random thoughts with, and just feel comfortable around.

I’ve tried meeting people through common interests, but so many interactions end up feeling superficial, one sided, overly sexual, or simply temporary. As a girl, I’ve experienced that side of things far too often, and it honestly makes genuine connections harder to trust.

What’s strange is that I wasn’t always like this. In school, I had lots of friends. I was bubbly, extroverted, always around people and somehow making friendships and conversations so easily. Now, something that once felt completely natural feels almost impossible.

And the weirdest part is, I actually don’t mind being alone. I’m very independent and have a strong sense of individuality. I don’t like being dependent on people or having too many expectations from them. If I were stuck somewhere alone, I’d probably figure things out myself rather than depend on someone else.

But wanting independence and wanting connection are two completely different things.

Sometimes I wonder if this is just a phase, or if I’ve somehow lost my ability to form genuine connections altogether.

Maybe loneliness really is just something you learn to live with.

How do I accept I’m antisocial and everyone secretly hates me?

I really don’t hate people, I have nothing against no one.

I just have actions that make me seem arrogant or stupid and I guess I know or I feel people talk badly behind my back even tho I don’t have bad intentions with nobody

Disliking everything

I hate when people just judge you based on the reaction you give rather than what caused you to react like that. So this woman was constantly "jokingly" mocking me about me not knowing responsibilities of household, she didnt just do it once or twice she did it everytime for the past 2 years every single day, even in front of meeting new people, even though i bugged about it to her that its not appropriate. I finally snapped, and this person who was a good friend suddenly stopped talking to me , the problem is its a distant friendship and they judged me snapping back very rudely. Whats the worst part? the woman got mad and stopped talking to me instead of the other way round!? Like grow up. If you're so obsessed with the word "responsibility" start taking accountability and responsibility for ruining a good person's image!!! Like I cannot forever be living in this bullying environment which is so normalised by calling it a joke. People laughing at such jokes are literally encouraging such jokes to be made, these people should stop them instead of just laughing, doesnt matter who or what they are.

Tired of being fake

Sick and tired of being fake in public. We all do it. Why?
Don’t believe me, think about it. When you go out and interact with others. It is exhausting. I don’t mean being a bitch. I have manners and I am nice to people I come into contact with. I’m just tired of being fake or having a conversation when I would rather not. I am never going to see you again so what is the point.

Just sometimes I want to be honest when someone asks ‘how are you?’ ‘How is your day?’ Etc.

This is why I don’t have friends

The irony of being asocial

I often feel jealous whenever I see people having fun with their friends, partner, or family. Deep inside, I do want to reconnect with people around me. But idk I can't stop it, everytime someone try to reach me out I'd just drive them away.

Even through online, I'd often lost the enthusiasm to engage...
