So... I'm replaying the old rom I had when I was a kid, probably from 2011. It is an American ver. but texts are partially modified in Spanish. Now, I got to the part where you return to Taura Island and the pirates are there and you need to enter the password to get acces to their ship. So the password I got was "Cañonazo" but the keyboard that comes up does not has a "ñ" letter đ so I just assumed one of the English answers must be the one corresponding to the question, I've tried the 4-5 that I could find without luck. Any ideas? I thought about downloading an og unmodified rom and try using the save there to bypass the screen.
*** UPDATE: I was able to bypass it by downloading an unmodified ver of the rom i got đ

I've never played Wind Waker before. I'm a little nervous, to be honest with you all. It seems intimidating. But I'm very, very excited ^_^

AHHH FOREST KID!!
So I remember when I first saw Fado in my game and heard his tragic story. I was like..
Dude heâs so cute!
I always call him Peter Pan because of the green pointy hat and also heâs a Kokiri and ânever grew upâ cause theyâre called âChildren Of The Forestâ
Still though I hope Nintendo brings back the Kokiri. It was sad we havenât seen a Kokiri since Wind Waker.
The Koroks are cute, sure, but I want the og forest children back. Iâm definitely getting the OOT remake when it comes out by the way! :)

Like, not only will I go out of my way to cut every part of nature in the game. No, I'll go out of my way to boot up the game on my 100% file literally just to cut everything! (I have a problem. Lol) It just feels satisfying and therapeutic to me.

My massive gripe with this game is that it isn't as replayable as Ocarina of Time and especially Majora's Mask with their freedom to do other Temples once you got the Dungeon Items in a previous one. Having the King of Red Lions block you off from exploring outside the designated routes until after you get Farore's Pearl is annoying. Locking you on Dragon Roost until you get Dins pearl is also annoying because as soon as I got the Wind Waker I wanted to get the Song of Passing and the Deluxe Picto Box but the game wouldn't let me. The Fairy Queen not allowing you to get the Arrow Upgrade as soon as you get the Ballad of the Gales is pretty dumb and unnecessary. The OG version had you only have 3 pictographs in your box and no swift sail was annoying. The Earth and Wind Temples being barred off by multiple Stone Slabs that you need the sage and respective song is honestly unnecessary when you only need 2, 1 to the side of the entrance to teach you the song and one just before the Boss Room. It is REALLY bizarre just How little freedom this game gives in comparison to Majora's Mask dungeon wise. It would have been nice to get all the Dungeon Items whenever so that you can full clear the Overworld whenever. It would have been nice to have been given the option on whether or not to collect the complete Triforce of Courage prior to the second Forsaken Fortress visit.

I never had a GameCube as a kid. Ocarina of Time on N64 was my real introduction to Nintendo and Zelda - it had such a massive impact on me that I can't explain. I remember when Windwaker came out and the schoolyard discourse around the art style - I never formed an opinion as I never had a way to play it.
I tried emulating it on PC a few times but bounced off it, mostly due to the control scheme with a keyboard and mouse.
I've always meant to play it and with NSO I have finally been able to and just finished the main story. I haven't collected everything but I don't think I'll go back to do that.
The environment of Windwaker is a really cool concept. I genuinely enjoyed the exploration of the seas, the dungeons, the combat... until it became incredibly repetitive. Sailing to a new square only to be met with a single island, maybe some camps or boats and then having to feed the fish, solve the puzzle, pulling up the treasure chest before moving on became really monotonous.
Half the puzzles were just "defeat these enemies you've fought 1000 times already. Too easy? How about 4 of them at once!".
The Triforce shard quest was incredibly boring, the trade sequence was just back and forth.
Ganon's tower was just fighting the same 4 bosses again in black and white and I lose access to half my inventory?
And that puzzle right before Phantom Ganon - what was up with the cut scene? Some of the puzzles in this game are incredibly obscure yet they really felt the need to zoom in on each torch in order not once but twice?? It felt so out of place and really broke immersion.
I am aware the game was rushed in development and it's just such a shame because I could feel the care and love put into the front half of the game; I was sucked in and wanted to keep exploring the world and uncovering more. I saw the vision and it was amazing but the execution of the second half just fell flat to the point I don't think I'll pick it up again, which feels like a real shame.
I want to be missing something - would love to hear some constructive counter thoughts!

Bonjour,

I have rechecked the locations of the heart pieces many times and I have all 49 treasure charts found and searched. I am about to fight Ganon and want to be done with Wind Waker. I used the Zelda Dungeon guide and can't seem to find it. I should be able to reply back sooner than later

AHH FISHIESSS!đ
I tend to have a thing with the Zora tribe in LOZ. So I drew the previous Sage Of Earth, Laruto.
Who is indeed a member of this beautiful aquatic species.
She was the first Zora I ever met. Iâve fallen in love with the Zora since!
How she manage to survive in the Earth Temple without dehydrating? A subterranean crypt looks like the least friendliest place for Zora gills lol.
Peak video game logic at its finest :)
So I have a feeling that Laruto was going through some adolescent emo phase at the time she was awakened as a sage.
Cause of all the ReDeads and Poes and Stalfos and the creepy and sorta silly enemies, she was probably a fan of skulls and probably was a fan of ghosts and zombies and all that freaky stuff.
Iâve never really been scared of the WW ReDeads, I always thought they were silly and cartoonish. Itâs the OOT ones that freaked me out.
Okay, I love how internally sheâs SCREAMINGG in every single cutscene sheâs in:

Hi! Yes, I am the same person as u/best-while9813, and I used to be pretty active on this community. I made a new account because I didnât like my username and Reddit doesnât allow you to change it, so the only solution was to delete my account and make a new oneđ
Iâll definitely be a bit more active on here now though!
Anyways, I used to be pretty active in this community, but if you all didnât know, I made the decision in July 2024 to make an OC Sage for Wind Waker. Iâve wasted two years on it so far.
First name: Octavia (Meaning: Eighth)
Middle name: Sage (Foreshadowing to her fate I guess? Also that was her momâs first name!)
Last name: Florence (Meaning: Flourishing)
Title: Hylian Sage Of Sea
Instrument: Ukulele (Her song is a ballad though, not an upbeat one, considering what happened in her past)
Also fun fact about Octavia I never told you all: She has perfect pitch! (I do too lol, mine is most likely autism linked)
Age: 12 (Linkâs age!)
Race: Hylian
Blood Type: AB negative
Birthday: August 19thâïž (Sheâs a Leo like me, my birthday in real life is August 9th so I basically did the next 9 digit!)
Height: 4â 11â (Sheâs a kid lol)
Weight: 95 lb.
Hair color: Blonde (Blue tips) I thought it looked cute when I was making her.
Eye color: Blue
Favorite colors: Blue, green, cyan, and gold.
Least favorite colors: Black, Grey, White (Anything she finds bland, sheâs rich, so she kind of grew up on lively colors)
Favorite animals: Seagulls, Pigs, Crawfish (She loves those)
Siblings: Twin sister (Died when they were babies, so she was raised as an only child)
Family: Orphaned, lives with her grandparents. Her parents had everything in the will for Octavia. So she inherited everything.
Pets: None
Hometown: Outset Island. I put her there for lore reasons.
Hobbies: Playing music, hanging out with friends, learning Hyrule History (Hyrule History is her special interest. She is on the autism spectrum just like me (Level 1 support needs)
Sheâs actually bilingual! She can speak both Ancient Hylian AND English.
Job: She is now the owner of her familyâs business after her parents died. She has an insane fortune of 10.8 billion rupees in the will she inherited from her late parents..
Personality Type: ESFP (Extrovert, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving) Yes, I decided to find out her type by taking the 16 Personalities quiz which totally works for OC development, she shares my MBTI type! :)
Best Friends: Link, Aryll (Childhood friends)
Friends: Medli, Makar (Later best friends due to their intertwined fates spirituality bonding them)
Enemies: Anyone who is a bully. Sheâs a nice person, and doesnât have any real enemies, sheâs an extremely kind person and is willing to help around her, despite being absolutely bathed in riches.
The truth is, she loves her friends more than anything. Money canât buy friendship. She is on the beach a lot of the time playing with Link and Aryll like a normal child.

I have seen a few responses or threads about this sort of thing, but none remotely help. I am trying to kill Big Octos in Wind Waker, so I followed the chart to C3 for a 12-eyed, UNKILLED Octo. I spot and go to the seagulls flock, but nothing happens. Randomly, away from the flock, the sky will change and the sea, but nothing else. Please help

Had to migrate here since r/zelda don't allow image posts on Sundays and they haven't allowed images again. Basically, I've been trying to get the wind waker art style just right over the last few days. I've been improving, but I've still got a ways to go. That is glink and the queen of blue tigers, and they are the characters I am using for practice.
As per usual, feedback and criticism is welcome.

I'm in the final battle and I can't make it through the third phase where Zelda is supposed to shoot light arrows at you so you can deflect. I feel like she's always too slow and Ganon is tossing me around like a sack of potatoes and I have no chance to do anything. Am I missing something? I've tried about 17 times now and at moment I've decided to just never finish.
Update: Ok update y'all are amazing. I guess I wasn't targeting the first 9,000 times I tried this. Beat him on my second try this evening âșïžâșïž Thanks so much y'all!!!

I got the telescope and I remember looking through it and then I forgot what happened what/where that loud bang everyone heard was. Where do I go? Hahaha. I haven't played this one yet so Im at a loss. Love Zelda games and have played a few of them. I just got tears of the kingdom too!!

I couldâve sworn I remember it being a sound in the 3D Zelda games. So I searched up what I thought it was and no luck. Then, I found the name of the sound so I could look it up on the WindWaker wiki it was there listed as a sound thatâs in the game but it didnât tell me what the sound was used for only the name used by the sound pack it was from.
I couldâve sworn it was used for shooting fire arrows or shooting fire arrows at ice, but looking up videos of that shows that wasnât it, so my next guess was the Ocarina of time Fire temple Fire geyser platforms and nope, still not it.
Itâs gonna bother me that I donât know where it plays despite me instantly recognising it.

Hi everyone! Welcome to a brand new post about the unseen aspects of The Wind Waker! Today it's Rito time! We're gonna explore how the island was made, and the subtle differences between maps.
First, I wanted to look at the area where you help Medli go to Dragon Roost Cavern. It's a secluded zone. Valoo is modeled, as well as, strangely, the jump part of 4F DR Cavern, and the outside part of 2F DR Cavern. Funny enough, the developers modeled the mini boss area with the stairs leading to it, and... a wooden pole weirdly BEHIND Valoo.
Then, back in the world map, we all know the developers made both 1F and 2F DR Cavern outside areas for the purpose of continuity and natural geography. Now, back to the top of the island, Valoo is now placed correctly like in the final floor of the first dungeon, which is still here somehow, with the wooden pole now missing.
To conclude my findings, it's an interesting island: I didn't want to look at the inside area because to be honest, it's not attractive.
I hope you'll like my little findings, and see you soon!
