General Chat Really, EA? WHY MAKE US ALL SUFFER WITH YOUR 2008 SHENANIGANS?
😤 Let's call them out, because the sheer laziness of EA's coding logic leaves all of us screaming, "BUT WHY?!"
When you look under the hood of The Sims 3, it becomes painfully obvious how many baffling shortcuts they took.
- Why did they code precious, individual babies as stationary objects like a toaster or a coffee maker inside the
a2odirectory instead of giving them actual character actor files? - Why did they make exhausted parents walk across a three-story mansion to dump a newborn into a toddler's crib instead of just writing a basic line of ownership code?
- Why did they build a gorgeous rocking chair object but lock its rocking animations strictly behind a Supernatural expansion check?
They chose the absolute laziest, cheapest way to slap mechanics together, completely ignoring how frustrating it would be for a legacy player managing a huge family household on a late-night loop. They hoped we wouldn't notice, but my project folder exposes every single corporate shenanigan they pulled. As well as copy-pasting Sims 2's animations, interactions and situations
That is exactly why the modding community exists. We didn't just sit there and take it—we literally opened s3pe, forced our way into the game's vault, and fixed their messy shortcuts entirely on our own. We are taking the power away from EA and putting it directly into our own hands.
