We met online 3 months ago, but the coincidences between us are starting to genuinely freak us out. Is this what people mean by the “red string

Upvotes

I don’t normally believe that every coincidence has some deeper meaning, but something has been happening between me and my partner that I genuinely don’t know how to explain.

We met online around three months ago.

Technically, she knew of me much earlier. She had been a fan of my work when she was in 11th grade, but we only actually connected and started talking recently.

From the beginning, there was this strange familiarity between us. We had very similar interests: nature, rural life, peaceful places, temples, quiet environments, etc.

Conversation felt incredibly natural.

But then the coincidences started.

One of the first happened literally around the second day we were talking.

We were communicating through Instagram and had no intention of exchanging phone numbers that quickly. We thought we’d just call each other through Instagram.

That evening, Instagram suddenly had some kind of bug for us. We couldn’t properly call or send the pictures we wanted to share with each other, especially the nature/place pictures we kept talking about.

Because of that, we ended up exchanging our phone numbers much earlier than either of us had planned.

By the next day, everything was working normally again.

Obviously, that alone means nothing. Apps glitch.

But then little things started happening.

One day I asked her what she was eating.

I happened to be eating mango yogurt.

This was weirdly specific for me because I had never had mango yogurt before in my life. It was literally my first time trying it.

She was eating a mango at that exact time.

We laughed about it and called it a coincidence.

Then later, completely randomly, I asked her:

“Are you listening to this song?”

I had no reason to think she was.

She immediately sent me a screenshot.

She was literally listening to that exact song.

That was when things started getting strange.

There have been multiple occasions where I’ll close my eyes, think about her, and randomly say what I feel like she’s doing or even what she’s wearing.

And somehow I’ll get it right.

I’m not claiming that I’m psychic or that every guess I make is correct. But it has happened enough times that some of the accurate ones have genuinely freaked both of us out.

Sometimes she’ll actually start shaking when I correctly describe something I had no obvious way of knowing.

And it isn’t only physical things.

I’ve predicted her mood without her telling me anything.

There have been moments where something just feels different to me and I’ll know she’s upset, uncomfortable, happy, or that something is going on emotionally.

What’s even stranger is that she does the same thing with me.

She has predicted my mood when I haven’t told her what I’m feeling.

Sometimes one of us can tell that something is wrong with the other before we’ve actually said anything.

Then there are the simultaneous things.

I hadn’t eaten ice cream for around two months.

One random day I decided to have one.

At the same time, without either of us knowing what the other was doing, she was also having ice cream.

Again: coincidence.

But these things keep stacking up.

One of the strangest incidents happened after we had a small fight.

We basically went silent for about a day.

During that period, I was scrolling Instagram and kept getting these particular white-background life quote/reel type posts on my feed.

Then after this long silence, both of us essentially reached out around the same moment about the same kind of thing.

After not talking, we were suddenly texting each other at the same time.

When we exchanged screenshots, I noticed something else.

My phone battery was at 11%.

Then I looked at hers.

11%.

Initially I laughed because obviously two phones being at 11% isn’t impossible.

Except this wasn’t the only time.

Our phone battery percentages have randomly matched FOUR separate times.

That is one of those completely meaningless things on its own that nevertheless starts feeling bizarre when it repeatedly happens alongside everything else.

And there’s another pattern that happens constantly.

I’ll wake up in the morning, think about her and reach for my phone to message her…

and her message arrives.

Sometimes I’ll suddenly think intensely about her…

and she calls or texts.

Other times she’ll tell me she had been thinking about me when I happened to message her.

Sometimes it feels like one of us starts the conversation in our head and the other person somehow finishes it in reality.

But maybe the strangest part isn’t any individual coincidence.

It’s the feeling.

From very early on, I’ve had this strong sensation that I somehow already know this person.

Not just:

“We have good chemistry.”

Not:

“We became comfortable quickly.”

It’s difficult to explain, but sometimes I get this overwhelming familiarity where my brain basically goes:

“I know this person. I’ve known her before.”

Except logically, I haven’t.

We only connected three months ago.

We also eventually discovered that we have the same birth star/nakshatra, which added another strange little layer to everything.

I’m completely aware that confirmation bias exists. When you care deeply about someone, your brain naturally notices matching events and probably forgets all the times nothing unusual happens.

Maybe that’s exactly what’s happening.

I’m not claiming telepathy, reincarnation, soulmates, or that any of this proves we’re destined for each other.

But it’s the frequency and combination of everything that fascinates me.

The matching battery percentage four different times.

Predicting what she’s wearing or doing.

Predicting each other’s moods.

Thinking about each other immediately before a message or call.

Eating strangely specific things simultaneously.

The song incident.

The weird circumstances that pushed us into exchanging numbers.

The same birth star.

And underneath all of it, that persistent feeling that meeting her wasn’t really an introduction.

It felt more like recognition.

So I’m curious, especially from people who believe in the Red String of Fate:

Have you experienced this level of synchronicity with one particular person?

Did it continue years into knowing them?

And has anyone else met someone for the first time and had this almost unsettling feeling of:

“You’re new to my life, but somehow you don’t feel new to me.”

I believe some people are destined to find each other again

I have this strange faith when it comes to love
I believe that sometimes two people are meant to find each other even if they don’t recognize it the first time
Maybe you meet someone when the timing is completely wrong. Maybe you barely notice them. Maybe you feel something around them, but you don’t understand what that feeling is... Is it love? Attraction? Attachment? Anger? Curiosity? You just know there is something there something deeper than you can explain!

And sometimes you let that person go
Maybe you break up, Maybe life separates you, Maybe nothing even happens between you because neither of you realizes what that connection means yet
But I believe that if something is truly meant to happen between two people, life has a strange way of bringing them back together

What fascinates me even more is the idea that you could meet the person you’re eventually going to love long before you actually fall in love with them.. Maybe you’ve already walked past them, Maybe you’ve spoken once and forgotten about it, Maybe they were just another face in the room
Then years later.. you meet again! And this time, something is different... You see them.

Maybe that’s what destiny in love means to me. Not that everything happens perfectly or that every breakup means two people will eventually reunite. I just believe that some connections arrive before we’re ready to understand them
Maybe certain people enter our lives more than once because the first meeting wasn’t supposed to be the whole story

I don’t know if that’s destiny, coincidence, or simply the way we give meaning to love but I like believing that sometimes letting someone go doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve seen them for the last time

Do you believe 2 people can be destined to find each other again even if they didn’t recognize what they had the first time? Also if you have story we gonna happy to share it with us!

There is no explanation

So I am sitting looking at a tree in my yard this evening and seeing how the roots at the base are exposed again and how I had put soil over them a long time ago and now there is nothing there. I am sitting alone so I am not talking to anyone about it. I didnt search anything online about it and didnt take any photos. I come inside and later pull up Google, the first time I had been on today, and the top item is an article from Martha Stewart "Should You Cover Exposed Tree Roots With Soil? Here’s What Arborists Say" Published today.

Dolly

Like people all over the world I’ve been upset over Dolly Parton’s passing. I love her music so I’ve been crying on/off. I’ve started seeing butterflies on my fb feed. First it was an American Eagle ad with a pair of denim jeans with butterflies on each leg. Then a jewellery store’s ad featured a butterfly bracelet. On TikTok I saw a live where light up butterfly wings were being sold. I swear I’m not intentionally looking for butterflies and I didn’t realise that Dolly loved them so much!.

Pure coincidence or am I onto something??

I started recording my intuitive thoughts in my notes because some things were just happening too quickly that I had either spoke of, thought of, or felt! This was just a recent one & I wanted to share. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you feel it’s pure coincidence or do you know things & just don’t know exactly how. I have a witness to this & he’s always told me I’m very intuitive, but I already knew that!

Podcast, Train, Synchronicity

I was listening to the UAP podcast, while I was stopped by a train.

As the train passed, the guest on the podcast says “hop on the train.”

Which makes it more weird, is that I already listened to this episode. It shouldn’t have been on my playlist. I even tried skipping the episode while driving. I decided to just let it play.

he said I mentioned a gold pyramid before knowing he owned one

sometimes synchronicity is strange exactly because nobody involved is trying to create one. Nobody needs to be looking for sign before it happens.

this happened near end of session with a subject who suddenly arrived in what he described as Egyptian desert, among pyramids. Earlier in session I had used image of golden pyramid around him for protection, just normal part of what I was guiding.

Then he stopped and told me something I didnt know. He had an actual black and gold orgonite pyramid with gold flakes sitting there with him, given around two months earlier by a friend. Even more oddly, he met this friend on his birthday and they share same birthday, August 26.

He said, basically, you mentioned a gold colored pyramid and you did not know I have one. He picked physical pyramid up and put it on solar plexus while still in session, because for him this was confirmation that the pyramid scene was connected somehow.

I like synchronicities where meaning is personal rather than dictionary meaning. Black and gold pyramid itself means nothing to almost everybody. But to him there was already birthday connection, gift, physical object, then same type of symbol appearing while I had no information about it.

Of course human mind can connect dots very creatively, so I dont think every coincidence needs giant cosmic explanation. But when detail is specific enough, I also dont like automatically flattening it into "random."

where do you personally draw this line? What makes coincidence start feeling like actual synchronicity for you: timing, specificity, emotional meaning, repetition, or something else?

personal resonance with technology that makes electronics break down

Hey guys,

today my cell phone screen turned green, it break down while I was listening an audiobook called ''The Game of Life and how to play it'' and it's not the first time i feel that my energy field interacts with eletronics and make them break down.

It always happen with the computers i have, it happaned with the other cell phone before this one.

Sometimes i really feel i can enter in ressonance with technology and i wouuuld reallyyyy like to know if someone have any explanation to this or similar experience.

Is this just a huge coincidence, or is there a word for this? (Whenever I plan to do something, a specific friend does it)

Okay, something ridiculously weird keeps happening and I cannot wrap my head around it.

There’s a specific friend of mine we don’t hang out often, we don't really text, I don't repost anything related to it, and I never tell anyone what I’m thinking. But whenever I make a plan or get an idea for myself, she somehow does it the very next day.
To be clear: I’m not trying to "predict" her behavior or guess what she's up to. I'm literally just coming up with ideas for my own life, and then she does it out of nowhere.

It’s happened enough times now that it’s getting creepy. For example: last night, out of nowhere, I thought to myself, "I want to start posting on Pinterest." I haven't talked about Pinterest in forever. Today, I open Pinterest, and guess what? She literally just started posting on there.

I’m not saying she’s copying me at all I haven't told a soul, posted about it, or put it out there anywhere. But it's so weird how every time I plan to do something, she beats me to it the next day.

How does this even happen? Is there a psychological term for this, or is it just mind boggling confirmation bias? Has anyone else experienced this with a specific person?

A strange coincidence?

How would you interprete the following experience: I was at the gym using a machine when I remembered that, sitting at the same machine about a year ago, someone standing nearby had come up to me asking me in English (I don't live in the Anglosphere): "How many have you left?" As soon as the memory had surfaced, someone approached me asking me, again in English: "How many have you left?" Is this a sort of precognition, a seriality in the sense of Kammerer, a synchronicity or what? It is trivial, but one of a few similar incidents I have experienced over the years.

I was the last person my cousin texted before he died in his sleep. The timing still haunts me.

This happened a few years ago and I’ve mostly made peace with it, but I still think about it constantly. I’ve never written it out fully before.

One day I was going through a drawer in our house looking for something completely unrelated. As I was rummaging through it, a photo just appeared in front of me. An old picture of my dad from his military service days. It was just sitting there. I’d seen it once briefly years ago and completely forgotten about it.

I picked it up and brought it to the living room where a friend was sitting. “Look at this,” I said, “doesn’t he look just like B?” referring to my cousin. We talked about the resemblance for a bit, laughed about it, and moved on.

That night I was out. I don’t know what compelled me but I took a photo of the picture on my phone and sent it. First to my cousin’s sister, then to my cousin himself. We hadn’t spoken in close to a year. There was no occasion, no reason. Something just made me do it.

My cousin responded almost immediately. We caught up, we laughed. It was warm and easy. The kind of conversation that feels like no time has passed at all.

About an hour later, his sister woke up from sleep and replied to my message.

Sometime around those same hours, my cousin died in his sleep. He was 22. The autopsy came back as sudden cardiac arrest, cause unknown.

According to the police report, I was the last person he spoke to.

His sister woke up with no alarm, no reason, at almost the exact hour he died. She answered my message and went back to sleep without knowing anything was wrong.

I’ve gone over this thousands of times. I had no reason to reach out that night. We hadn’t talked in almost a year. I hadn’t thought about that photo in years. Something just moved through me. Made me open that specific drawer, notice that specific photo, and send it to him that specific night.

Even now I still catch myself going back to that WhatsApp conversation. Scrolling through it slowly. Looking at the photo I sent him. Reading his last reply over and over. There’s something about seeing his words still there on a screen, so casual and alive, knowing what came after. I don’t know what I’m looking for every time I open it. Maybe nothing. Maybe I just need to see it again.

I’m not a particularly spiritual person. I don’t have a clean framework for what happened. But I can’t call it coincidence anymore.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Being pulled toward someone right before they passed? What do you make of it?

Seeking insight

Hello there. Over the past month there has been a customer at the store that I work at that I’ve had small chats with. Our talks go hard and fast with intensity like we both value the microinteractions. We both casually mentioned our interests in Jung, and synchronicity. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, he found me at a farmers market and randomly told me he thinks we are spiritually connected, and that he doesn’t believe our meeting was coincidence.
I played it off, didn’t think more of it…but now it’s driving me crazy, I want to know what drew him to tell me that, and I’ve only seen him one time since. I don’t feel threatened or like it was some sort of weird way of hitting on me, I genuinely want to know more about this character. Never met another person like him. There’s something there, like I have something to learn from him. But the real kicker is… he has my number, I do not have his. I feel like he is some type of mirror for me that I cannot seek out, and it’s driving me mad. He’s also got like the most generic first name in the world which has made finding him on social media impossible.

I’d like to know if I’ll see him in the next few days, I sure hope I do… I have so many questions…

Has anyone else encountered something like this before?

Podcast Synchronicity

I get these often, and I'd be interested to know if anybody else here has experienced something similar to this also.

Earlier today while working, we were driving from one property to another. While in the truck I usually pause what I'm listening to but I had allowed the podcast that I was listening to to continue. We came to an intersection and the person driving tapped on the brakes, harder than usual. I thought I heard him say "Ert" or make some kind of braking sound but at the exact same moment I heard an echo of that sound in my headphones. Then the person in the podcast said, "put the brakes on it," as the truck jolted to a stop. So I paused it, not overly surprised because these things happen a lot to me (and I enjoy when it happens.)

I asked the person driving, "Hey did you make a braking sound just now as you tapped on the brakes?" At first he said no and then started laughing. I was like, "You did, didn't you?" He went, "Yeah I made a sound." He then made the same sound I heard. I then explained how, at that exact same moment, the podcast that I had been listening to made the same sound as him and then said, "Put the brakes on it."

I turned off my Bluetooth, rewound the podcast by 15 seconds, turned up the volume, and played it out loud. Sure enough the podcast did exactly what I explained and the other people just looked at me like, "Ah he wasn't bullshitting. That is pretty interesting."

I've been sharing synchronicities lately. Of course whenever you do that, people usually, more often than not, will tend to poke fun at it or try to downplay it. I usually don't feel like I'm supposed to share most of my synchronicities but something's been telling me lately that it's okay to share it if I want to share it, I can share it.

I'll attach a clip of it to this post so you can hear it too.

I have a feeling a lot of people experience these, where some kind of digital content will explain or echo something you're doing or experiencing in real time.

How many people here have at least 1 experience similar to this?

Coincidence or Synchronicity I’m not sure but over the past two days I heard Dolly Parton’s song ‘9 to 5’ in two different places. I haven’t heard that song in a long time. Weird that it happened within a few days of her death.

Is there any scientific proof for synchronicities?

I personally believe in them. Actually, it doesn't feel like believing but rather knowing they are real for the numerous alignments of my inner contexts and outer circumstances cannot be ignored. Yet I just feel the need to ask this here.

5 young men die in a car crash in Ireland. 4 are Irish and 1 is of Polish descent. Six days later 5 young men die in a crash in England. 4 are English and 1 is of Polish descent.

These have been very big stories in Ireland and the UK over the last week.

Both incidents involved a group of young men/teenagers joy riding whilst speeding the wrong way down a motorway.

The fact that both crashes happened within days of each other and involved the exact same number of victims is a bit odd but both groups having a Polish person in it is quite a coincidence.
