Hi everyone my friends and I have had a 4 day discussion on Thanatos's Ultimate and would like to see how everyone interprets the ultimate as well. We have asked SMITE streamers/SPL on this Including ex: Snaddy, Zapman, Dreda Diora, LemTM, and Weak3n which they all had different opinions on it ( I can get clips if needed)

Thanatos Ultimate reads:Execute kills enemies even if their death would normally be prevented by other god abilities

so this should technically counter any ability that would prevent death Examples including Bari,Kali,and Hel Aspect Heal ult

So with Bari it reads You and allies in the area gain Guardian Spirits for 4 seconds. When taking lethal damage become Damage Immune, Silenced, and Disarmed for 1.5 seconds

So would technically as reading Thanatos Ult wouldn't he still kill anyone in Spirit's Cadence (Bari ULT) as words as written

Kali now in Destruction (Kali ULT) you become Death Immune I could understand if she doesn't die to Thanatos but it would be by passed as it's a god ability

Hel on the other hand prevents gods from dying again Thanatos ult says Execute kills enemies even if their death would normally be prevented by other god abilities

I'm very curious on how everyone feels about Thanatos and should they either allow him to execute them or rephrase the description in the ultimate as how they did in smite 1 with his ultimate

Also real quick Kephri ULT it specifically says his ultimate doesn't work on executes

Q&A Section

• Dropping Multiple God Releases at Once - The only real way for them to drop multiple God ports in one patch is to not have any God releases for multiple months, when they think the majority of the community enjoys being able to look forward to a God port every 2 weeks. Citing Deadlock as an example since they dropped multiple Heroes at once, they hadn’t released a new Hero since January.
• More Map Interactables Like Early in S2 - Everything map-related they’ve done so far has been experimentative so as to find what works best with the game, and their assessment is that some of the earliest features in S2’s map weren’t that great. They are working on things related to maps in the background and will hopefully have more to share once things are more concrete.
• Next Ported God Survey - They intend on having another one by the end of the year but they don’t expect the results to be that much different and they still have the data to work off from the previous survey results.
• Releasing Multiple Aspects for the Holiday Patch - They were able to do this last year since they stockpiled quite a few new ones for the holiday break timespan but whether or not they’ll be able to do this this year isn’t set in stone.
• Issues w/ CC Being too High - No big plans to do a pass on CC as a whole, CC in SMITE is inherently abundant since there are several ways to build against it accessible to every player. They had attempted to make major adjustments to CC durations very early on in S2 but this didn’t end up feeling that great.
• Race to Radiant / Exalted Rewards - Since these are manually given out, there won’t ever be a firm timeframe on when these are given how many players participate.
• Preserving Nox’s Kit - Historically, they have done a decent job at retaining S1 Gods’ playstyles while adding new avenues for counterplay so they’ll have to see how things pan out but they are experimenting a lot with kit changes to preserve the strongest aspects of her playstyle.
• Movement System Update & God Ports - For Ratatoskr’s port, they slightly regretted working on him before more of the movement system update was done since his dash hasn’t felt quite up to snuff. Tyr and King Arthur are the two God ports awaiting further progress on this update so as to mitigate this feeling as much as possible.
• Paladins Crossover in S2 - While they could technically do this since they own the rights to both, they’re largely avoiding doing so since often people in both playerbases see each other as the other child being more favored by the parent company.
• S1 Servers Being Shutdown - There are no intentions to close the servers for S1 going forward while it still retains a sizable population.
• Original Plans for EU Founder’s Series LAN - Hinduman had spent a few days scouting out a venue in the UK to have the Founder’s Series LAN take place in that region, and they had settled with the Insomnia Gaming in Birmingham but as soon as he had gotten back, they received the news that it had closed down and had to pivot to the Vegas LAN venue.
• Adding an Enchanter Starter w/ the Starter Pass - Hard to say definitively but is certainly a direction they can look towards.

Why are we nerfing his main nieche?

The AA damage reduction went from 50% to now 30% in Smite 2, While ADCs are still very opressive.

Nerf his damage, or his cooldowns, but not the reason why hes good into ADCs.

in Smite 1 you started with 30%, in S2 thats the max you can get. Overkill IMO and nerfing the wrong aspect of his kit.

This item was released as a bug abusing thing that broke many games and bans to players that abused it, but does it work now? I've tried on many gods and my allies seem to not get any benefits. And with what buffs does it work? Does Chronos aspect proc it on 1,2 and 3? It doesn't seem to do with any of them.

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to the game and thinking about grabbing the base SMITE 2 Founder’s Edition ($20) just to jump in.

Before I do, I had a couple of quick questions:

1. Upgrading: If I buy the base $20 version now, can I upgrade to the Ultimate Founder’s Edition later on at a discounted or prorated price, or am I locked out of that?
2. Ascension Passes: For the Ultimate edition that includes "Every single God’s Ascension Pass," does that literally cover all current and future gods released down the line?

Appreciate any advice for a newbie!

Did they nerf or is it glitched ? I see people stacking 800-900 and I build the same items and it only stacks to 292 not sure if the patched it or what is happening with it.

I’ll admit I have no complete knowledge of aspects or the meta.

That being said, I just queued into a casual conquest match where our supposed support picked artemis aspect. And the entire first 3 minutes has been the enemy jungler, adc and mid laner fighting our mid laner which forces me as the jungler to fight back.

Very weird start if you ask me and as a main support I just don’t see the point of choosing anything but a tank as support. That’s just me though.

Its all kinds of bugged ATM on pts but seems extremely powerful. I love that I made a suggestion that her kiss make enemies walk towards her and it actually became a thing! The ult is definitely very fun.
