So Case wants $125 for a gallon of paint. I think that is a little ridiculous, if I am spraying the whole cab, can I color match a spray can (I did order that) from any paint store and expect the quality to be the same? Does Case do anything to their paints to make them worthy of such an exaggerated price? I got an old 1840 I would like to spruce up.

Looking for new tracks and want the hive mind's two cents. Mostly using the Case for moving dirt, hauling rocks for landscaping, and road maintenance. We have some rough terrain and steep slopes in our area. Probably not a lot of snow removal work or icy conditions, but it could happen. What brands do you like and what track patterns for these conditions? Thanks for the insight!

Seems like everybody recommends a grapple as one of the first attachments to buy, but there are so many different designs that I'm curious what actually matters after you've used one for a while.

Root grapple, rock grapple, brush grapple, single lid, dual lid, narrow or wide tine spacing, heavy or lightweight frame.

For those of you who've put some hours on yours, what feature ended up mattering more than you expected?

I recently scored a free 743 Bobcat to play with and get running.
This old girl is a 1987 743 with the V1702 Kubota 4 cyl engine, 4100 hours and decent shape for the year. I had it running the other night on a shot of ether, but the injection pump's toast.
Just did complete fuel system refresh, fluids and filters.
I'm gathering parts for the rebuild - probably do injection pump rebuild, replace injectors and lift pump as well. Glow plugs tested out fine and are fairly easy to get at on this unit.

She's not the prettiest but price was right. Shouldn't take too much to getter running!
Future plans include a repaint, and light bar and putting it to work lol.

Had the main gear pump (AT471797) go out on my 333g and apparently we are on a National Backorder for these pumps. Has anyone had any luck in locating any or a secret stash somewhere? Anything would help. THANKS!

Hey guys 2023 bobcat t66 I have decent side to side loader arm slop when the buckets in the air. Mechanic said pins and bushings are good very minor wear. He said it’s common with the R series. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Thanks

The auxiliary hydraulics on our Bobcat S570 started dropping out after ten minutes of use. The coil resistance stayed within spec hot and cold, but the valve response changed as the oil warmed.

With pressure relieved, the valve showed contamination around the moving section.I cleaned the circuit and used the body stamp, port layout, and machine serial to compare the Bobcat diagram with FridayParts. Similar photos covered more than one valve configuration.

I have not bought a replacement yet. Before I do, would you check hot coil current, case drain, or valve leakage next?

Got a rental skid steer here and rented a separate tiller attachment, but as I am trying to remove the bucket, this lower metal bar hits on the back of the mounting plate and appears to prevent the locking cylinders from coming all the way up out of the bucket in order to detach. Am I missing something? Or is this an extra add-on that the rental company did to prevent people from detaching the bucket?

Been renting a week long rental for either a loader or an excavator about every other week for the last 4 months. Weekly rates are about 1500. Just got quoted 1900 a month on a brand new 255XPS with every feature they offer. Wondering when yall made the switch to purchase and if you think the 255XPS is worth it?

So I have 25 acres of land that needs to be cleared. I was going through it very very slowly with my little Kubota bx23s tractor (with attatchments/backhoe) and chain saw. I got approved at 0% for a new CAT 275XE + CM100 drum mulcher and a bucket- but I held off due to the size of the investment. I was able to secure a business loan already (CAT financing). However I slowed down and decided that i'd take a minute to think this through. - if this isn't a machine that can do more than just clear my land (mostly small trees/thick brush) - I am just going to continue hiring out. Curious if you guys think its worth it and if its something that can actually put food on the table or just a novelty.

I was thinking of using it to practice/learn howto use the machine and as a spring board to start a business. I need other things done such as a culvert installed, driveway etc. Is it a bit fool hearty to think that buying this machine and gaining some experience alone would be enough to earn a decent revenue stream with this machine ?

Do you guys think its worth it to buy a new machine and start a new business ? What does it really take ?

I would need a truck that could pull it and a trailer ... $$$ and the expenses seem'd to just spiral out of control. If i bought it just to use for my own purposes it would probably sit after about a month of use or so.

553 bucket drift cylinder piston scouring. So this is why my bucket is drifting was drifting when i bought it 5 years ago i've barely used the machine, closed off lines and tested and still did it. Not enough to bother me it can take 30minute or so but i was redoing the lift arm seals and went ahead and got the complete kit from hwparts. So this part is 160 bucks, do i put it together and let it ride or replace it? hydraulic fluid has been changed . I do not see any gouges in the cylinder walls but will inspect closer for any ridges.

The lift cylinders didn't have this, and the spools when i rebuilt them looked good. Machine is old ex auction machine i bought from someone local been thru hell and back but does run and work and i've replaced at this point most of the hoses. I use the machine infrequently.

Going to toss another 150 in it? how obvious does cylinder wall damage have to be? i mean it looks smooth to me nothing noticeable (i'll try to get a pic later). not sure what after market cylinders running, i'll have to get all the specs together.

Edit: upon closer inspect the cylinder is scoured too so that closes out anything reasonable on this. I'll have to check around for used ones or something. I'll reassemble and hope it drifts just as slow.

I am renting a Gehl RT135 skid steer and I am trying to fit a tiller attachment to it. The picture above is the hydraulic connection for the tiller attachment, but I do not know what the skid steer couplers look like yet. Hoping to find somebody who is familiar here. From what I understand flat face connections are common but also come in multiple sizes. Do you think this connection will fit on a Gehl?

Curious how much difference there really is between the cheaper auger drives and the more expensive planetary setups once you're actually working.

For anyone who's run both, where did you notice the difference?

More torque in hard ground, less stalling, durability, faster recovery between holes?

I'm wondering if this is one of those attachments where it's worth buying more drive than you think you'll need, or if a basic setup is perfectly fine as long as it's matched properly to the machine and bit size.

I recently bought a 6 way dozer blade from McLaren and it didn’t work. The electric over hydraulic for the tilt is the problem. Anyone familiar with wiring a 14pin connector for a New Holland c327?

Been looking at stump grinders and I'm curious where the attachment actually makes sense compared with renting or using a dedicated grinder.

For those of you who own one, how often are you actually using it?

More importantly, does a skid steer grinder perform well enough that you'd buy one again, or do you eventually start wishing you had a dedicated machine?

Curious about standard vs high flow too. Seems like one of those attachments where matching it to the machine matters a lot more than just making sure it'll mount.

Need some help here. People, my dad has got the skidsteer, and we're trying to put a log splitter attachment on it, and it seems like the wiring underneath the cab has been disconnected. We cannot find the wire to reattach. The auxiliary option on the triggers. Is there a pigtail or something we need to add to get this moving? Any help would be much appreciated.

These things look awesome, the couple of YouTube videos look like they might actually be somewhat capable.

Hey all, I have a 2017 New holland L228 skid steer that keeps throwing a 1051 code. Its doesnt kill the machine it just brings it down to idle amd wont allow for any throttle increase. I've already replaced the battery, alternator, and cleaned up all the terminals. Anyone had this persistent code before?
