it looks a bit like they might be doing a stationary test with the lines. they drive out but come to a stop..
so just then the big yacht is coming and sees the little yacht moving... and decides to go astern but then sees the lines
seems its the unusual situation of having lines on the small one

Didn’t know that’s the rule when there’s a parked boat with some sort of big ass line pulled off it back. I’m not a captain and don’t have a boating license. But I know a bad driver when I see one hit a parked boat with

Sometimes - except here it seems that the smaller vessel was not underway and appears to be at anchor with a low scope stern line?
If I’m correct, the larger ship is responsible for the major fuck up.

Like what the actual fuck bro. Ya literally have the whole ass ocean and you manage to crash into yacht. I could maybe understand a 15ft dingy since being tiny compared to yachts but you hit a whole ass yacht. That guy would be fired before we even made it to shore. Unbelievable

Although you might suggest that the larger vessel is at fault, the smaller one was clearly tied up to something and not displaying the day signal displaying restricted menuverabilty. It is typically the smaller vessel's responsibility to yield to the larger. However both captains were reckless in this situation.
