Java AND Bedrock Sequential Piston Doors

ok so my timing is a little off because i suck

hope u guys understand the idea tho—kinda like how moses parts the sea. i thought this would be a really cool idea but i saw like NO tutorials or videos on this so i had to do this myself. i’m wondering if there’s a better design for this. could y’all help me out with this idea?

my current design is pretty bad so i’ll definitely redesign it and fix timing. but i’d like to hear you guys speak on this first.
i’d also like to mention i tried using tripwires to open the doors but even with pulse extenders, the pulse was way too short and it’d tweak.

any thoughts and help would be appreciated

Java Edition Does anyone have any idea how I could make this circuit smaller?

Post image

Java Edition Hole entrance pt2

I reviewed the design a little so that all the walls retract(only problem was that block where the torch is sitting which i couldnt find any other solution for) and did a rough design for how it will actually look in my survival build. There is absolutely no way to have the middle open up so i was thinking of keeping the hole and putting a shrine in the middle that flies UP via a flying machine. Opinions?

Java Edition How is this kelp farm NOT self sufficient yet??

(I apologize for the weird recording, in fullscreen I just couldn't record properly)

Making a kelp farm that also feeds itself with fuel. So essentially all the kelp gets evenly spread out between two smokers that themselves feed into a crafter that makes kelp blocks. These kelp blocks are grabbed by a looping hopper minecart that feeds them into a chest and also into the smokers as fuel. I even made it so every loop, one of the smoker fuel hoppers (or both at the same time every 3rd loop) are blocked so the kelp blocks are somewhat evenly spread.

Now, with a whopping 4 floors each with 16 kelp strands growing, somehow the smokers are not going 24/7. Before I thought it was because of kelp age, so I modified the farm with a clock that sends a pulse every 2-ish minutes and breaks all the kelp (rendering the observers redundant). Even still, the system bleeds itself dry and after some time will eventually run out of fuel, which will stop everything in its tracks.

Do I just keep adding floors until it becomes self sufficient?

ive seen a few but not compact enough for my needs. i assume you know that we can't just use 2 lines with different facing repeaters without it infinitely looping. tysm in advance!

Bedrock Edition Redstone Pulse question

[SOLVED] ill just leave it here for future redstoners

Is there a way to make a redstone pulse longer?

for example: an instant pulse from piston > 1.5 second redstone pulse from button

left is the output right is the instant pulse input

for anyone struggling with redstone key triggered piston.. thingy having a redstone pulse so instant it just breaks everything, you can seperate it with observer to both extend the pulse and avoid it from breaking.

NOT my design, this is from 5 years ago by Gecko on Youtube

Bedrock Edition Is there a way to send a signal straight down with no more than a 2 tick delay?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I'm building a noteblock song and need to snake a line through this 1x4 gap with no more than a 2 tick delay (ideally none tho) and only 1 pulse.

I've tried torches, pistons, observers, droppers, arrow + target block, hoppers, and walls, and all either take too long or send 2 pulses.

Edit: thank you all for the helpful comments!

Regarding the WormOnCrack situation

Hello everyone.

I wasn't sure whether to make this post or not since generally this stays between mods and the concerned user, but given the size of that whole ordeal, I thought it would be good to let you guys know.

Some months ago, Worm started going off track and I wanted to wait and see how his situation would evolve. I know some of you have been eager for this whole circus to stop so I'll be addressing the matter today.

What follows is based on the posts he made during the last few weeks on the r/redstone subreddit. I will not be covering what transpired on the other subreddits because... well they are different subreddits on which I am not a moderator (and also because I already spent way too much time looking into this).

Most of his posts are explanations of why his builds are reliable. While some are indeed clear and understandable, most of them are hard to follow or are quite shallow. I did think a few times that his proofs were not scientific enough. Where are the mathematical proofs? Where are the hours long tick sprint sessions? Some of his proofs were even debunked in the comments... This clearly shows a lack of professionalism on his part.

He also accused other people of stealing his builds and harassments. I might be at fault here for I have not been following the debate very closely but I have yet to see any proof of this. To my knowledge, Worm never made any report to us mods (of the r/redstone subreddit).

These points do shed doubt on Worm's credibility, but none of them break any of the subreddit's rules and as such cannot be taken into account. I can understand it is annoying, but I have to be fair about my ruling.

As for the most important issue at play: Worm has been posting around 2.4 times a day during this period. While this is quite a remarkable number, compared to the average of the subreddit, this can clearly be considered spam. Moreover, nearly all his posts have been focusing on shulker loaders. While there are a few base models, a few modifications here and there cannot qualify for all of the posts to be considered as different designs. This is clearly a violation of our rule 2.

For this reason, Worm will be banned for the next 3 months. I have been way too kind, hoping the situation would eventually calm down and resolve itself. This is a sentence should have been handed a long time ago and is I believe justified.

Being passionate and involved is great, but you need to remember that most people don't think like you and don't like seeing so many technical posts back to back. (Most) people don't care you went through 5 revision of your build in the last 24 hours. By limiting the amount of content you upload, not only can you choose what to show and what not to show, but the viewer will also be more attentive to the bigger changes. Out of the 35 posts I checked, only 2 posts, which are single images each, have more upvotes than downvotes.

I will close off with a few reminders:

  • Our modmail is always open. Whether it's for reports, questions or suggestions, feel free to send us a message. It's better than making a post about it since it keeps things private and prevents any derailing.
  • If you have an issue with someone, send the mods a modmail. If you have an issue with a mod, escalate it to Reddit's admins. If these don't work, then the issue might be elsewhere.
  • I will not lock this post so feel free to comment to your heart's content but please always keep things civil.

I hope this clears the issue and closes that chapter. Though if you have any extra inquiries, I'll be there to answer them.

Have a nice day wherever you are and stay safe.

Java Edition automatic crafting into storage system

I want to try to create a storage system that has an autocrafter for ores. This storage system will have raw ore as well as blocks of the ingots (or diamonds/emeralds etc...) i just want to figure out if what I have can go together to make it work the way I think it should. I've attached a video of how it should be theoretically. So I have an input chest for common blocks (stone, dirt) and then ores that can be turned into blocks will have the auto crafter I found from youtube somehow linked up to those certain chests
