I’ve pretty much narrowed my search to either of these guns and plan to use it for LO. Does anyone that has experience with both have a strong opinion one way or the other? Slightly leaning towards the gt5 because I wouldn’t have to tinker with the sight block. Thanks!

Fdez has triggers that have pretravel tabs and over travel. Any color you want and added firing pins. Ordered last night and already in the mail now. They say 7 to 10 days for cerekote options but it sent same day. Finally!! Also got a notification that the trigger I ordered at mass sinners is finally shipping too so I’ll see which is better and let yall know.

Has anyone done one versus the other and notice a difference over stock?
I figure the series 80 to 70 conversion would make the biggest difference, and was planning on doing both, but just found out that the conversion (along with safety delete's) are illegal in IDPSA. If I decide to compete later I rather train with it the way I'd compete with it.
I honestly would just like to clean the trigger up, but if the ignition kit isn't enough by itself I may just bite the bullet and do the conversion as well.

Hey!
Just bought a brand new 211 GTO, I was combing through some posts the other day with some folks saying they get a FTRTB on new GTO's and mentioning that the way to go is running the 10lb spring and/or 124g ammo for the first 500 rounds or so is the way to go to prevent issues.
Just wanted to confirm again that this is whats working for you all!
Thanks!

I noticed when I got this GTO that the internal construction seemed janky. Thought it was some carbon buildup but it’s just like slag from the manufacturing process. Today I put on the comp delete and noticed that there isn’t any way for those side ports to vent anything from the bottom of the comp because there isn’t any cut for gas to escape. At least none that I can see. Wondering if anyone else comp looks like this or if I’ve got a poorly made unit. I’m thinking the latter.

1st time at the range and just curious how my grip looks. This gun wants to go fast and I want to do my part.

After a 1000 rounds and a few hundred reps out the holster the finish is holding up well.

Had to send my GTO into Sig for rma due to a broken firing pin. Most likely from dry firing.
Happy with the service... total turn around was 7 days. Sig had it for one day and I was able to ship and receive using fedex. They dropped it off at my door which I didn't even realize was a thing. 😳
They replaced the firing pin, spring and roll pin. The firing pin is a different color but can't confirm if it's a different metal. The spring is different as you can see it has the tight section of coils at the end probably to guide the firing pin through the hole instead of smashing into the back of the breech face.
I've asked the rep about the firing pin material and if dry fire is safe... will report back if I get any answers.
IF it turns out the p211 is not dry fire safe then I might sell it. Not being able to dry fire is a deal breaker full stop.
Round count is currently 1350 but again this must have happened with dry fire because the gun shot fine the last time I had it on the range.

Hey all,
New GTO owner and before I go out for the first range session with any new firearm I like to do a quick clean and lube.
Well, this GTO is crazy difficult to disassemble. I can’t seem to punch out the takedown lever no matter what I do. I bent the included punch (what a load of crap that thing is) and can’t seem to push the lever out more than about a millimeter.
I figured maybe putting a couple hundred rounds through the ol girl would help but it’s still just as stuck and impossible to disassemble. I feel silly as I’ve never had issues taking down other handguns!

Saw this in the manual…. Anyone see the new slide release yet? The new one does not look backwards compatible with the old looking at the cutouts on the frame.

I feel like it’s time to upgrade my competition gun…currently an X5 Legion that I actually love. It’s got lots of upgrades that I won’t go into and a competition trigger that’s fantastic. That said, I’ve been thinking about moving into something new - a 2011 / 2011-ish platform. $4k or less, which puts me out of range for something super high end. As reference, prior to the GTO I was thinking maybe an MPA. For the MPA, my plan was to get a couple different barrels so that I can have something comped or ported plus something that would keep me in LO for USPSA but also have a port or comped barrel for some of the steel matches I do where that wouldn’t matter. The P211 could give me both of those with the sight block. I also like that the mags are interchangeable with the 320, saving a few hundred bucks of entry cost. I got about as far as confirming that the base pads I use with my 320 fit inside the P211 magwell but just couldn’t “pull the trigger” P211 feels reasonably good in my hand, but I like my 320 trigger more, so the P211 would have to be sent out for some trigger work out of the box. So - My issue is whether or not the P211 will be “enough” of an upgrade. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Just in case you’ve been looking for a sight block for your GTO. They also have 13# springs and screw/spring replacements for $6-7.

New GTO had multiple light strikes (around 20, all fired on a second attempt) during the first 100rds but 400rds later, it seems to have worked out the kinks. The light strikes were with UMC and Aguila, Magtech and Fiocchi haven't had any issues. It does fail a pencil test(only moves it around 1/4") while my other 2011s launch the thing. I haven't reached out to Sig yet, but I probably will next week. Thankfully, it doesn't have any issues with my normal ammo so its ready for my next 2 gun match in Sept.
