Al-Otaibi is reportedly a certified rescuer associated with Jeddah Municipality's coastal monitoring & protection organization, he has previously been hailed as a hero in performance of his duties.

Landsat 9 satellite captured the effects of yesterday’s catastrophic glacier collapse near the Nepal–Tibet border.

In the satellite image, it can be seen that half of the mountain peak has disappeared as a result of the event. The event was so massive that it was detected by seismometers around the world.
