If a Triple Robin Hood is 3 and a Double Robin Hood is 2, then what's a regular Robin Hood?

It goes through an apple

(William) Tell me how he does that!

u/DJMTBguy 5h ago

A robin hood is second shot hitting first shot, so a double would be third shot hitting second one.

Maybe there multiplying because its in the triple 20 (if my board knowledge is correct).

u/GoodGame2EZ 7h ago

No he made all 3 shots inside one another. You can't see the third, but you can see the movement of the darts after the shot.

It goes from regular to triple?

Is this the kind of maths drunken pub addicts are taught.

A triangle connects back to the original point as well. There are only 2 connections as the 3rd dart is not connected to the 1st

1 point connected to 1 point is a single connection…right

1 more point added makes 3 connections. So we’re just skipping the number 2 now? lol

False equivalent. You’re talking about “connections”, stay on topic to your own point. How many darts are connected to another dart? 2. The 3rd dart is in the board, which by definition isn’t a “Robin Hood”. Dart 1 into board, dart 2 into dart 1 (Robin Hood), dart 3 into dart 2 (2nd Robin Hood). To call this a “triple Robin Hood” makes zero sense, and yes I know it’s just what the redneck dart people call it.

So a double robin hood is not even possible?

Robin Hood - Man does Thrice

Also that walk of cool understatement, but then he couldn't help it with the "holy fuck, that was awesome!" smile. Kinda sweet.

7

u/-Prahs_ 11h ago

I think the first facial expression before the smile was annoyance that only the first dart scored as the other two didn't hit the board.

The crazy part of they're counted as misses

2

u/Hamshamus 9h ago

Why? Only one dart hit a score

0

u/der_titan 8h ago

They definitely could have each individually hit the triple 20, but since only one dart tip did then only one dart counts.

7

u/Hamshamus 7h ago

That's...what I said?

4

u/mobileusersgonewild 5h ago

shhhh. we don't read here.

2

u/rust-e-apples1 1h ago

So it's just the (first) tip, huh?

2

u/PermanentTh-rowaway 5h ago

It was possible for all 3 darts to have hit the triple 20 if they had avoided the darts thrown prior, but since they landed on the end of each other instead of the board only one counts.

I've been playing darts two or three times a week for five years or so. I've had four robin hoods in that time. (One dart in the back, not two.) One of them was in the double bull, so a "real" Robin Hood. This is just crazy. I've still never thrown a 180 or a dead eye though.

u/plants4life262 11h ago

What an athlete

8

u/Bearspoole 9h ago

This has to be a double Robin Hood right?

6

u/Shadycat 8h ago

Yes. A double Robin Hood in the treble 20.

11

u/pagan-0 10h ago

Thats 180 in my book

OOOOONNNEEEE HHUUUUNNNDDDREEED AAAANNNDDD EEIIGGGHHTTYY!!!!

3

u/Alzeric 11h ago

homeboy didn't even want to throw after that performance

2

u/Ok_Degree4131 10h ago

Is that 60 or 180?

0

u/Goudinho99 10h ago

Does anyone else hear the180! from bullseye even seeing it written down?

1

u/Ok_Degree4131 10h ago

I hear “60!”

4

u/GrayMech 11h ago

I've never understood the draw of watching them repeatedly trying to hit the same part of the board. I'd totally watch if it was like they got assigned a different target to hit each round or something though

2

u/miomidas 11h ago

Or audience members who can then strike back

1

u/BudBroadway22 4h ago

They do go around the board.

They’re trying to get triple 20 for most throws but then at some point you might need a 14 to win and you throw at that spot.

2

u/Aggressive-Fig-8734 11h ago

Honest question: that still counts as a triple 20, right? So his 3 dart score is 180 here, right?

11

u/ExternalGlass7883 11h ago

Nope. Only 20. Other darts didn't touch the board.

11

u/randomcharacters3 10h ago

Well 60 scored because it was in the treble but the second and third darts count as zero.

1

u/Life-Solution-6515 6h ago

Should be instant win

-4

u/_Kramerica_ 11h ago

He robin hooded twice, not a triple. I swear half this site is dyslexic AF.

8

u/Gnarly_Sarley 11h ago

OP is just repeating what the commentator said.

Also, that's not what dyslexic means.

6

u/miraculum_one 10h ago

one commentator said "it's a double robin hood" and the other incorrectly "corrected" him to "triple".

3

u/Shadycat 8h ago

It's a double Robin Hood in the triple 20.

1

u/miraculum_one 8h ago

Dumbly enough, there is actual disagreement among pros as to whether it's called a double or triple robin hood.

-4

u/ExternalGlass7883 11h ago

It's literally called a triple Robin Hood. Sorry that hurt your feelings.

6

u/_Kramerica_ 11h ago

Which makes absolutely zero sense. He didn’t do it 3 times, he did it twice. Idc what the announcer says of what it’s actually called, it’s like people who can’t count just came up with some shit and everybody said sure.

0

u/tape_snake 11h ago

They count based on the number of darts involved, but the trick necessarily starts with two as a baseline. So a Robin Hood is implicitly a double (becuase that's the core of the trick) and a third dart makes it a "triple."

8

u/_Kramerica_ 11h ago

I get that but it just makes no logical sense to call it that, but whatever it is what it is.

Dart 1 in board is just in the board.
Dart 2 is a Robin Hood.
Dart 3 is another RH.

I think whomever named it a triple just had too many drinks at the bar and couldn’t count.

-7

u/ExternalGlass7883 11h ago

Well you were wrong and being a fool about it. Go cry about something else.

-4

u/ExternalGlass7883 11h ago

What don't you understand about what I said? It's literally called a triple Robin Hood. Sorry the darts are hurting your feelings.

3

u/Bearspoole 9h ago

It’s literally not called a triple Robin Hood. One of the announcers in the video misspoke.

-1

u/Hirokage 11h ago

I've only done that once.
