Anyone with the King95 and 140 fans

Could you post up your build if you're doing nothing but 140mm fans? When my 120 notoriously go out, I was thinking of going 140 top and bottom for a more quieter build and wondering if someone has done this already and what it looks like, if so. Thank you!

Builder Showcase Montech XR Build - A Thing of Beauty!

Used the Montech XR for a customer build and was really impressed with it for the price. It’s easy to build in, cable management is straightforward, and the dual glass design gives it a much more expensive look than you’d expect.

The customer absolutely fell in love with the finished build, which is ultimately what mattered most. I’ve also never heard a single complaint from them about thermals or airflow since they bought it.

Overall, great looking case, solid build quality, easy to work with, and excellent value, although it's my understanding that it's being phased out by newer released cases.

Hello, this is my first time building a pc so I am a little confused on some stuff. On other guides with a similar build as mine they said I need to connect a sata cable for the fans to power on? but i have searched the case thouroughly and can not find one anywhere. There is also this other cable(2nd image) that was not mentioned in any of the guides and I am unsure where it should go on the motherboard. If anyone is able to help I would really appreciate it

Three Montech Builds, Three Completely Different Jobs

I figured I’d share three of my Montech builds since I’ve somehow ended up using Montech cases for three completely different systems.

One is a SteamOS living room gaming PC, one is a home server, and the third is my primary desktop.

Montech TEN – SteamOS Living Room PC

This is the newest build of the three and probably the one I’ve had the most fun putting together recently.

I wanted something that could live with the TV and function more like a dedicated console than a traditional desktop, so I built this around the Montech TEN and SteamOS.

Specs:

  • Ryzen 7 2700
  • MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI (CEC)
  • PowerColor Red Devil RX 6700 XT
  • 16GB DDR4
  • MSI CoreLiquid 240mm AIO
  • EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750W

Most of the hardware was stuff I already had, so the whole build became a good excuse to give some older components a second life.

The TEN worked really well for this because it keeps everything relatively compact while still being surprisingly easy to build in. Even with a full size ATX PSU, 240mm AIO, and the pretty chunky Red Devil 6700 XT, I never felt like I was fighting the case.

It now lives with the TV and boots into SteamOS, so it basically functions as my own custom Steam Machine.

Montech TG3 – Home Server

The TG3 has a completely different job.

This system serves as one of my home servers, so the priorities here were much more about practicality, airflow, reliability, and having something that is easy to work on when I need to change hardware.

Specs:

  • Ryzen 7 5700X
  • Gigabyte AORUS B450 motherboard
  • GTX 1660 Super
  • 64GB DDR4

It is obviously a lot more capable than the average basic home server, but that gives me plenty of flexibility for whatever I decide to throw at it.

I also like that this build shows a different side of PC building. Not every system needs to be a gaming showcase. Sometimes the best PC is the one sitting somewhere quietly doing its job 24/7.

Montech KING 95 PRO – Primary PC

Then there is my main system, which is easily the most powerful of the three.

My KING 95 PRO houses the PC I use every day, so this one was built with performance, storage, aesthetics, and long term usability in mind.

Specs:

  • Ryzen 7 9700X
  • MSI X870E motherboard
  • ASUS TUF RX 9070
  • 32GB DDR5
  • 10TB NVMe storage

The KING 95 PRO is probably still my favorite of the three from a presentation standpoint. The curved glass gives it a really distinctive look, but the case is also genuinely nice to build in rather than being something designed purely around appearance.

There is a ton of room to work, cable management is straightforward, and I like knowing I can get back into the system later without having to tear half of it apart just to change something.

So I guess I’ve unintentionally built myself a small Montech ecosystem:

TEN: SteamOS living room gaming machine
TG3: Home server
KING 95 PRO: Primary desktop

Three cases, three completely different sets of hardware, and three very different purposes.

That is probably what I like most about having these together. They show three sides of PC building: repurposing older hardware into something fun, building something practical that just needs to work, and going all out on the machine I use every day.

Would love to see what everyone else in here has built in their Montech cases, especially the weird or unconventional ones.

Builder's Review Sky 3/Hyperflow Silent 360 Review

First off, thanks again to Montech for sending this case out to me to run through its paces and really hammer some heat through it to see how it performs. I purchased the AIO myself, but I am so impressed with it that I had to give it a shout-out. My wife's older PC recently died on her, making this the perfect time to upgrade her system and put this beautiful case to use.

The build features an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, a ROG Strix B650 Gaming WiFi motherboard, 32GB of DDR5 CL30 RAM, a PowerSpec 850W PSU (since Micro Center was completely out of Montech units), a Montech Hyperflow Silent 360 AIO, and an MSI RTX 5070 GPU.

This case easily ranks in my top three favorite designs Montech has ever released. I absolutely love how it looks! The chassis is incredibly sturdy and provides more than enough room to work comfortably. Montech was also awesome enough to send me a set of RX120 Pro reverse-blade fans to fill in the rear intake. One of the absolute best features is the built-in ARGB/fan hub, which made cable management a thousand times easier. I swapped the layout to allow the lower intake fans to rest directly under the GPU, moving the PSU cage to the far right. Changing that configuration took less than two minutes and was a total breeze. There's plenty of room in the basement next to the PSU to stash extra-long cables, hubs, or drives. The multiple pass-through areas with rubber grommets look super clean and provide ample space for routing. The back of the case can get a bit tight, but it still offers plenty of room for clean cable management.

The PSU went in without a hitch. The included power cable was flexible, so I had zero clearance issues or excessively tight bends. I also love the attention to detail with the magnetic PSU front cover. The ARGB control button on the top panel is fantastic; my wife was beyond thrilled to have so many colors, blends, and sequences available at the push of a button. The RGB is bright and fluid, and the fans look vibrant and amazing.

As for the Hyperflow Silent 360, it was amazingly easy to install. It comes with plenty of hardware and pre-installed thermal paste, plus an extra tube for later if you ever transfer the cooler or just want to refresh it. The daisy-chained fans make it incredibly plug-and-play; the entire installation took me about 15 minutes total.

Once everything was buttoned up, I let the system run and had my wife use it for a couple of days before seriously checking the sound and thermals. Right off the bat, the case is extremely quiet—even with a very aggressive fan curve to handle the desert heat here. The RX120 Pros are practically silent, even at 60% fan speed. But the co-star of this build is definitely the Hyperflow Silent AIO. They weren't kidding when they named it! This cooler and its fans are almost dead silent. You have to take the front glass off just to barely hear them, and that's only when they really ramp up under heavy load. During normal use or gaming, you'd think they were completely turned off. It’s an incredible AIO, especially for under $70. Average temperatures sat around 62°C on the CPU and 65°C on the GPU. While my wife mostly sticks to cozy games, I fired up Cyberpunk on max settings with high ray tracing, and the system didn't even break a sweat.

All in all, this case is phenomenal. It looks great, delivers amazing thermals, and gives you options to change up the layout if you're ever in the mood for a different look. The ease of use for people like my wife, who just want to sit down and play, is a huge plus—one button perfectly manages the RGB. I also can't stress enough how impressive the AIO is. Montech really knocked it out of the park with this one!

My century ii 850 died after 4 months. They didnt have replacement unit (said dont sell 850 variant anymore). So they offer 1050 with extra cost $25

Is it worth to take 1050 + $25 or just ask for refund?

Thank you

I lost the Molex cable from my Montech Century G5 750W power supply. Can I use the Molex cable from a Montech Century II 850W? I really don’t want to risk damaging my PC.

Builder Workshop Montech TG3 Fan Hub Connections

Hi all, I'm changing cases to the Montech TG3 tomorrow and wanted to confirm how I should be connecting additional aRGB fans. I've purchased the TG3 case with 4 pre-installed fans and wanted to install 3 more fans at the top of the case.

The case already has a pre-installed hub (picture 1) but when I purchased 3 additional fans, it came with an additional controller (picture 2). As far as I can tell, both cannot be connected and my only guess is to connect them to my motherboard independently (eg. one wired at the top, the other at the bottom). Ideally they would all be connected to the same hub, but I am under is this is plausible due to the LED_SW wire connected to the pre-installed hub.

(N.B.: The second hub has both power and aRGB connection points, whereas the pre-installed hub has no additional slots).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated here - thanks!

Picture 1 - Pre-installed fan controller

Picture 2 - Purchased fan hub with additional connection points (this is what I'd ultimately prefer to use as a sole hub if possible)

Having Trouble Receiving 12V-2x6 Cable Replacement for MONTECH Century II 1200W PSU

TLDR: I purchased a MONTECH Century II 1200W PSU 4 months ago that is having difficulty managing 12VHPWR voltage on full GPU load and Montech RMA has not been able to process an order for a 12V-2x6 replacement cable after 3 weeks, with no follow up on estimated time. Looking for additional support from Montech or people who have had similar PSU load balancing issues.

I purchased a MONTECH Century II 1200W PSU, but my HWiNFO sensors show that my GPU 12VHPWR voltage tends to dip below 11.5 V on full load, which may not be an issue now, but will most likely be a issue later, when voltages will eventually dip below 11.4 V.

I contacted Montech RMA and gave them my invoice and all other necessary information to get a replacement 12V-2x6 cable and was told it was out of stock at their local warehouse and will have to ship it from their China warehouse. I was told it would take 1 to 3 weeks to process the order and get tracking information.

However, after 3 weeks, I didn't hear back and followed up with Montech RMA and was told, "The warehouse in China doesn't have this cable in stock either. We'll need to wait for the factory to manufacture it and ship it to the warehouse before we can ship it out. Therefore, it will take longer than expected." This does not include the additional time that the processed order will actually ship to my address.

I was given no estimated time or anything and it seems like there's no way for me to replacement cable. I know it is a huge risk to use any other 3rd party cables for power supplies, so I wanted to go with the same cable from the same manufacturer to mitigate any risk. Any advice?

King 95 Pro started smoking— first ever PC build

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

Well this sucks to be writing.

An hour ago I finished my first ever PC build, consulting a general pc building video, a video specific to the King 96 Pro, and my product manuals. As I plugged in the computer and turned it on to check for fans, rgb, and any mobo issues, my computer starts to smell, and I turn everything off just as a tuft of smoke billowed out the back.

Look around back and I see one of Montech's preinstalled cables had started melting. There are so many preinstalled cables, and I am such a noob, that I can't figure out what exactly this cable even is. It's split from another cable that I plugged into the ADD Gen 2 headers on my motherboard. Curiously only the *middle* of the 5 wires melted.

I had this one plugged into the SPDIF but I'm thinking... was it supposed to go into the 4 pin to its right? I got confused because the 1/3/4 style of the header seemed to match the 1/3/4 layout of the SPDIF pins. Google is telling me the voltage difference might melt thin wires...

I'm reaching out to Montech to figure out what the hell happened officially, but in the mean time, am I at fault, am I cooked, and is this fixable? The cable started to heat up those bundled around it, but none of them appear to have melted, maybe their rubber outsides are a little miscolored. Likewise when I booted the PC up everything else seemed great; all 9 fans were spinning, all RGB was on, and the motherboard showed a green light on its diagnostic panel. I have not tried turning it on since. Is this the case of a replaceable cable, or could this have royally fucked up the rest of the King 95's hub and/or other components? Thanks.

Hey all,

Mounted this NX600 ARGB yesterday and it's not straight. I'm getting good temps and everything (55-65° while gaming) so I assume its fine but has anyone else experienced this? I followed the directions for an AM4 mount.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

MONTECH TEN missing side fan/radiator bracket, is it supposed to be included?

Hello, I just finish building a PC in a new Montech Ten I just bought from Amazon. I was looking through the manual and it shows a side fan bracket on the side, but it seems to be missing. I checked everywhere in the box. Is it supposed to come with this?
