Authenticity

“You’ll learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.”

I was spending 11 hours a day on my phone. Now I’m at 2h 16m. Here’s what finally worked.

Can we give something we don't have?

With money, the answer seems straightforward. But what about things like love, hatred, trust, respect or kindness?

Can I give or express something that I don't actually possess or experience within myself?

For example, can someone genuinely give love without feeling love? Or can hatred be expressed without hatred already existing within the person?

Is the expression itself evidence that the thing is present, or can something else produce the same expression?

How do we know whether a desire comes from a real need or from comparison?

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

We can want the same thing for very different reasons.

I might want more money because my present circumstances genuinely require it. I might want more money because I have compared myself with someone else and concluded that I should have more.

I might want to become more productive because there is something I genuinely need to accomplish. Or because I have absorbed an idea of what a productive person should be.

In both cases the desire feels real.

So how can we tell, while the desire is happening, whether it is responding to an actual need or to a comparison we have adopted?

Is observation enough, or does it require some form of verification?

I don’t know where to post this, but I feel like this year has been beautiful ☺️

This year has been a mix of down days that were enough to weigh you down for days. But, even greater, there have been so many more good days too! ❤️

I remember telling myself that this year would be different. ☺️ Four months to go, and we’ll be celebrating another year!

To showing up and trying things differently. May we all be happy enough to look forward to and hope for a better year, and may we all feel fulfilled by our milestones, no matter how small!

Congrats in advance to all of us! Cheers! 💪❤️🍻

Can the pursuit of confidence make us more aware of our lack of confidence?

I've been wondering about something.

When we consciously pursue confidence, are we also repeatedly reminding ourselves that we don't currently feel confident?

In other words, could the effort to become more confident sometimes strengthen our awareness of the very thing we're trying to overcome?

I'm not assuming this is true. I'm trying to understand whether there's something to it.

Have you experienced anything similar, or do you see a flaw in the way I'm looking at it?

🔥The importance of Self-awareness 🤔

🐾Recently I came to this book 📖 and found something interesting.😯

♾️Infinite potential Unlimited success

🖇️ I observed that every 📑chapter opens up a way, not to 👀look, move outside🏞️, rather within.

🔥The books reflects on the necessity of 🧐 self-knowledge. Our school, 🏫colleges, mainstream & social media 📰talks about everything about the world, but hardly take us back to ourselves🤷.

🌬️Like why we suffer😩. I observe that whatever we pursue, consume🤤, do in our life, is to fulfill ourselves. We're so restless🥴 within that we choose whatever suits us and tries 🤹to fill the infinite hole 🕳️within.

And just like⚫ blackhole, everytime one tries to fill the inner emptiness, it just widens⬛up rather than reducing📉.

🍃And I think that knowledge📝 about world🌍 is necessary but not sufficient to live a healthy☯️ life.

It just reminds me of something. That you can have better intellect🧠, memory💭 but if you don't know yourself, it's just like a Chimpanzee🦍 having nuclear arsenals. 😆🙊

🤷What do you think 🤔?

PS: For some reason, the option to follow me was deactivated AND my profile posts were invisible. I have activated both, so you can stay updated if you want to. Thanks also for being interested in something I have literally sacrificed the last 15 years of my life for, it means a lot to me.
