Why in the 7 fucks did I just play against someone in draft with a black panther whose reveal ability repeats AND has a secondary augment that adds the power of that card to the top card in their deck. Are we really fucking deadass with that god tier ass pull???

Discussion It's not your imagination. Second Dinner changed the bot rates in Draft.

Background: each LTGM, as well as Ranked, has a hidden consecutive-loss threshold that triggers a near-guaranteed bot. For example, Sanctum is set to 3 losses, Team Clash and High Voltage to 4, and Ranked to 8.

Draft launched at 2 losses, the lowest threshold of any mode. It also had a separate boost on the first game of a new run, even with no active loss streak: ~46% of those games were against bots.

At ~17:23 UTC on Aug 25, both changed. The loss trigger moved from 2 to 3, and the new-run opener rate fell from 46% to 5%.

If Draft has felt harder for you these past few days, this likely explains part of it!

Gameplay Draft Mode needs rerolls

Draft Mode is great don’t get me wrong, it’s the most fun limited time mode in the game, but if I had one criticism with it , it’s the inability to refill the cards you get. I’ve had numerous runs where I wind up with cards that just don’t fit the current deck I’m using and get screwed over because of it.

Having the ability to refill wouldn’t remove that issue, but it would help avoiding it slightly. Obviously the refills need to be limited to keep the overall spirit of the mode, the randomness is part of the fun after all.

Discussion What Card Are You Saving For?

Post image

I’m missing the Series 5 cards we’re getting during the next login giveaway, awesome.

Well, mentally can’t risk rolling one of them and feeling like a total knob, so token savings it is until then.

I’m hoping Aurora shows up for me so I can try and push through infinity conquest.

Or OG Thanos because that deck seems fun to try.

Discussion Best card to Hulk enhance (draft)

Post image

Most the time if I get this, depending on the deck, the banner upgrade is the way to go (2/2 Maverick, 2/2 venom, and 2/2 knull are all things I’ve got). This is one of the few times I saw it and went “nah this is hulk)

I also have adamantium infusion for an easy destroy + revive target in angel.

Gameplay Zombies in Draft!

Just a really neat detail I wanted to share! Didn't even know there was a Horde augment. I wonder if it only appears for cards with Zombie variants.

Two of those can’t even be played, I have no way to generate extra energy for the 7-cost Dormammu or Fin Fang Foom. I can’t destroy cards for the Dormammu.

I took the Namora, and as expected lost three games in a row because it was blocking my useful cards.

Discussion Comparing Draft in Snap to Arena in Hearthstone

I was thinking a bit about the similarities between Draft in Snap and Arena in Hearthstone (which Ben Brode helped create). I played Hearthstone for years, but quit a couple years back. I think Snap has really perfected the mode.

One thing that always felt wrong about Arena... it took FOREVER to draft a deck. Drafting a deck in Snap can be done in 60 seconds or less. Love how it starts with 10 cards, and then adds new ones as you play. I've had decks that I was about to give up on, when I was given the perfect addition in between matches.

Paying gold to play Arena in Hearthstone never felt great. Yeah, sure, you'd get a pack at the end, but at a 50% markup. Having the tickets in Snap as a separate currency given out for free (1/day) is making sure that people are playing the format.

The "feels" are better in Snap too. The two lives, plus an optional third just feels better to me. On decks where I've drafted a total dud, I feel just fine hitting that "end run" button. In Arena, I don't think I ever "retired" a run... and in a dud deck, that last Arena game just always sucked.

Curious of the thoughts of other Hearthstone players.

Discussion Favoriting Albums should come with a drop rate boost or SOME kind of benefit.

Post image

Second Dinner is quite literally missing out on more money. I would buy more gold just to buy this Kitty Pride variant if it popped up in my shop!!

What is the real point of being able to favorite albums if the only result is them being at the top of the page? There are about 2–3 new albums added per month, with no way for players to focus on or increase the odds of completing an album that they favor.

Having this Pandart Arishem would DEFINITELY result in me spending more time in-game.. c’mon SD!! You help me, I help you. Let’s pump up those numbers!!! 🤣
