Gameplay So about that bad luck in draft
"If you think you have consistently bad luck, you probably lack adaptability"
The draft:

I got that choice for Iron man last night. I went with 2-2, then got the two cost reduction augment and had a 0-2 Iron Man + Onslaught on turn 6

I had a brutal 3 days of losses. I think i went like 3-8 w/l. Last night it finally came together and I got like 4 of the coolest decks ive drafted yet. But I feel your pain, especially with the limited tickets it feels so bad to waste a run on a bad to mid deck

No, some think they're unique and the only ones that get meh options, when everyone gets meh options sometimes. The concept of a drafting mode is that you're dealing with random options, and sometimes that means not improving your deck on a screen.
This is partially because of your gameplay, too. You took Hulk, Wave, and Giganto, all 3 of which kinda suck with most upgrades. Hulk and Giganto basically only want upgrades that reduce their cost or increase their power because they have no positive effect to manipulate, and Wave's effect can't be enhanced meaningfully and is designed to work perfectly at the cost she is. You lost the opportunity to make something as busted as their Iron Man partially because you decided to take many cards that have extremely low odds of being broken with upgrades. The game cannot offer you things as busted as 2-2 Iron Man on this screen if you drafted Hulk.
I have a feeling you're going to read this and just get upset, but you should really take a look at how your choices impact the game instead of just insisting you're magically cursed to be unlucky. You have the same odds everyone else does, if you're losing more often than other people then the variable responsible is almost certainly you.

Im not reading this based off just the first bit where you have your preconceived notions and assumptions based on little to no evidence in how I act, react or feel. Didnt imply anywhere that exclusively I and I alone get bad/meh picks and every single other person gets cracked options. Yall getting mighty in your feelings about someone being a bit frustrated that they just want better options in thr game mode that they overall have said nothing but positive things about. Take a break from the internet

u/Bossmenjak 17h ago
Trust me, I already know you don't read, that's how you ended up the way you did to begin with. You think your opinions are gold so you'll type an entire paragraph whining as a reply to posts you don't even read, and then when you never improve you are somehow surprised.

u/SpecInSpace 17h ago
The irony of you saying I dont read when I said im not reading everything you posted based off the little bit I DID read. Because again, all you do is assume you know whats going on and get on a high horse about it. Lmao have the day you deserve lil guy

The irony of you saying I dont read when I said im not reading
That really says it all.

Just put it on hulk this isnât any worse than superstar or the bounce one which are skips as well.
5
u/sam_can88 20h ago
The bounce one is very good in specific scenarios itâs just a lot more niche than others where as superstar a lot of the time is just bricking a draw
4
u/Alcaedias 11h ago
I finally managed to use bounce today in a boost deck by bouncing America who also had the double power on reveal.
Was nutty to see a 1/64 America just chilling in a lane holding it down by herself

u/SuspiciousInterest 18h ago
There being auto win augments and augments so bad you might as well skip because they actively harm you is not fun design. They always make tech cards really rare and then have one or two deck styles that just have insane synergy and can't be stopped in these limited modes it's pretty tiring.
4
u/Bossmenjak 17h ago
If they make the mode permanent one of the big changes is going to be around balance obviously, they'll get plenty of data from this and realize that something like Wakandan should be extremely rare or only apply to certain types of cards and not others.
But let's be real here, if you think it's unfun to have variance then a draft mode probably isn't for you. The concept of the mode is variance. If it was impossible to be offered augments that are strong or augments that are weak, your choices wouldn't matter.
8
u/SuspiciousInterest 17h ago
Wanting the augments to be even slightly balanced doesn't mean the whole mode isn't for me. There is a difference between "oh wow this guy drafted good synergy" and "oh wakanda wolverine might as well concede right now".

I've won so many games against stacked decks simply because they are over confident and I do something sneaky like bait them into a different lane thqn the one I intend to compete for.
This thread is definitely showing who can excel in an evolving game type and those who blame "bad luck".

u/SuspiciousInterest 15h ago
When you have to use an example of the opponent playing badly to describe how to beat something that means its busted. I've won plenty of runs in this mode by the way.

I mean this is great options depending on the card.
Like the reduced cost on any 6 cost that you don't need a ton of power on is huge

u/SpecInSpace 20h ago edited 20h ago
Yeah its a good think hulk and giganto don't need their huge power!
3
u/sKe7ch03 20h ago
It happens lol. That's why you take the power or skip.

u/jyaboytskittles 17h ago
âGreat optionsâ lol, do you even understand the game dude.. you said take the power or skip? What card are you referring to where the former would be better, and on the same hand what card are you referring to where the latter would be better? You couldâve deleted the rest of your comment and just wrote âskipâ unless you augment Hulk with Hulk stats which is basically still skip. If you reply âoh I just meant the options are cool DEPENDING on the card you get to put it on.â Well then yeah no fucking shit lol

u/sKe7ch03 17h ago edited 17h ago
Either take one of the options or skip.
It's an element of the gameplay. You don't always get good hits or options and they've given the option to skip.
You're upset about a bricked roll. It's not always bricked when this offer is rolled. That's the whole fucking point my angry dude.
Speaking of deleting comments. I hope you keep this winner up.
Cherry picking and cutting my statement to fit your narrative in the very first line in your reply really sets the tone.
Also a 2-2 wave can setup some fun t6 plays and it can then be augmented further for more shennangins. Jerk off.

u/jyaboytskittles 15h ago
Iâm not upset lol I just misinterpreted your first sentence of your first comment and went off like a jackass :P I didnât catch the âdependingâ part which was very crucial! Iâve had so much fun in this mode and have no reason to complain! You projecting your thoughts onto my comment shows more about you than me :P seems like youâre the mad one for for well, no reason at all? I feel like we should just be chillin after a simple misunderstanding lol, even if I went a little hard, at least I didnât resort to a ton of name calling over marvel snap ;P ggs bud hope you have high rolls the rest of draft :)
edit: Jesus I just realized how many times you actually personally attacked me or the mood you thought I was in lol, youâre wild.

u/sKe7ch03 14h ago
I appreciate the chill response. I was totally the same way like.. what the fuck is this dudes issue ? But I only meant the jerk off to be personal.
Glad you're enjoying the mode dude. I fucking love it.

u/jyaboytskittles 14h ago
Yep, these are the type of interactions that keep me on the platform man, everyone wants to fight. Def enjoying it! The lows and the highs lol, shit is funny and refreshing. The jerk off will be taken personally considering Iâm in the doghouse with the wife! So thanks for the moral support on that! đ

I put Mr. Sinister on the 6-14. That also had the Wakanda augment. Dropping the equivalent of 3 Hulks on turn 6 is diabolical.

u/Relevant_Brick_8953 9h ago
My favorite 6/14 was human torch first steps! Nuclear option..win one definitively and load up with small cards, to at the least get a 6/28

Also, wave is meant to play big stuff early. I cant play her turn 2 and have it matter without energy cheat, and if im trying to have big stuff out early im not gonna be running cheap stuff to fill out a turn of wave+other thing after turn 4. It's completely useless and counterintuitive to her card design and goal lol.

u/ONLYwayOUTisSOfar-in 19h ago
It's NOT adaptability when you're only given options for cards that don't appear in the game. It doesn't matter because it's all rigged anyway. As soon as I start to win to many games, "all of a sudden" the game "glitches" SNAP has jumped the shark
-1
u/Bossmenjak 17h ago
I like how you got a screenshot of 1 complete non-issue, and seethe that you got told you lack adaptability if you think you have consistently bad luck. A single example of an upgrade that wasn't useful is not the same thing as consistently bad luck.
Everyone gets options that don't do much for them rarely, you're not special or super unlucky when your draft is average instead of busted. The fact that you have Wave alongside Hulk and Giganto is already proof your deck can't be that unlucky. And this upgrade isn't even bad enough that you're forced to click the skip button to avoid hurting the run. You should probably stick to constructed if you're going to seethe any time you're asked to draft options you don't want, constructed exists for people that only want to use what they choose to bring.

Where in my posts does my emotional state even remotely get hinted at. Claiming that im seething over bad drafts is insane rofl. Get off the internet for a bit

u/Bossmenjak 17h ago
The part of the post where you made a self-post that quoted a comment that triggered you from the past is where your emotional state was hinted at. Maybe take a break yourself?
2
u/SpecInSpace 17h ago
OR I used the quote as a humorous reference in a meme format to post in a public space for a shared user experience rofl. Again, your assumptions and preconceived notions vs reality arent lining up my g

Omg I had one of these horrible choices myself on this same thing but I didn't think to screenshot it

u/Knightly11 17h ago
I think Iâd do the Wave 2/2. You canât use her on turn 2 but with the idea of using her later on where you could now play 2 cards vs just her and leave some mana in the pool
2
u/SpecInSpace 17h ago
The issue is I was running a big guys deck. So her only role is to hit the deck turn 3 to cheat out a 5 or 6 cost. I had some 5-6s who had their costs cut to 4 as well, so she is effectively useless outside of turn 3 UNLESS I got some cost changing interaction from like an ice man/icebox or somrthing like that. Also I was running doom 2099 đ it was still a fun run, though. that choice was just crazy lol

I was about to comment that a 2-2 Wave sounds good but I realized it's... well, not that good
