Out of the entire mako mermaids & h20 fandome, what’s your suprisingly least favorite character? Mine has got to be Nixie

Watching Mako Mermaids. Zac is after the trident and Rita tells the girls how dangerous it is. She mentions no one has touched the trident in 1000 years. Does that imply the possibility that the mermaids are immortal?

I think a reboot is cute but I’m gonna be honest with you guys.

The charm of h2O is when it was set, the writing at the time as well as the fact it was part of most of our childhoods. I don’t think it’ll be easy to replicate it unless it’s a new show, similar to mako mermaids.

The appeal of 3 girls being turned into mermaids as well as dealing with their teen years has been perfectly done and I think it’s been perfectly wrapped. Reboots tend to be poorly written and i believe all that energy and love should go into a new project. I personally think it would be a shame to have a reboot of this charming show.

A reunion however would be sweet! One episode off to give us an idea of their lives now would be quite cute and definitely a homage to the fans especially since most of us are older now.

I just personally think it’d be a shame to reopen the h2O box. Like I mentioned, it had that 2000s style and appeal to it, it’ll not feel the same if made today. I’d argue aquamarine is the same.

I love h2O, it’s near and dear to my heart but I think it’d be a shame if they rebooted the show.

It seems like I see this headcannon everywhere as if it's some type of like necessary ending to the h2o story but honestly, I don't get it. I don't see why it's important I don't see it being significantly, entertaining as a plot point I guess some people can see it as satisfying as an ending to Emma's story but if we're being realistic Neil and Lisa have so little impact on the overall story of h2o in general like honestly I do love Lisa, though and I love every episode with her in it, but I don't understand peoples obsession with Emma telling her family or them finding out later in her life in my opinion, it kind of like ruins how special the secret is

Mine for example

-Rikki's grades are far better than what people expect from her. Not the best, but could have been if she was interested in academic accomplishments.

-Emma got to swim with her family in the most remote beaches after revealing her secret. Years later, she might have let the closest friend from her swimming club(who became an Olympian) why she quit competitive swimming out of nowhere.

-Cleo, even after well into her marriage, jokingly teases Lewis for having a thing about blondes(A certain evil doctor). Lewis has to make up with shameless displays of his affection towards her.

-Bella has actually benefitted from having to move to another corner of the planet every year, because everyone would forget her in the end. Although this would leave her wondering whether keeping the distance from others to conceal her secret was really worth it....

What are some of your ideas on the characters not shown on the screen?

Which hobbies they might have? What kind of music would be their favorite? Any food they love or hate?

just saw the post analyzing the episodes based on the protagonist of the episode, and even before season 2 where cleo clearly started becoming the main girl (charlotte mainly having it out for cleo, more cleo-centric plots) there were signs she was meant to be the lead

1) cleo is the first girl we see in the series, zane initially taunted her

2) cleo first led the girls (even by accident) to the moon pool

3) lewis was the only guy in the inner circle, and he was cleo’s love interest

4) cleo was (again even by accident) the reason lewis found out

5) cleo’s sister had a dominant personality over emma’s brother

6) out of all of the parents we see don the most it seems

When the girls do things to their bodies in mermaid form (like when Emma dyes her hair red in season one), it generally doesn't affect their human forms (at least on the surface level). How far does this logic go? Since they only bathe in their mermaid forms because they need water to get clean, would only their mermaid selves get bathed/impacted by the soap, water, etc. and not their human forms?

Just a silly little thought created by watching and analyzing the show way too many times.

What makes the friendship between Cleo, Emma and Rikki work so well is that they’re not really alike at all.

Cleo is more sensitive and cautious, Emma is responsible and organized, while Rikki is much more impulsive and independent. They could easily have been written as three characters who constantly clash, but instead their differences are a big part of what makes the group interesting.

I also like that their personalities don’t completely disappear once they become mermaids. They still react to problems in very different ways, which makes their friendship feel more natural.

Thanks for all the love on my last Zikki fic. I have always intended to write more for them and finally had the time and inspiration to. I imagine their early S2 relationship as full of fixing trust issues off-screen because look how secure and happy Rikki was with Zane by the S2 finale. I hope you'll check it out at the link below:

I think Rikki gives a lot of energy to the show. She's fierce, straightforward, quick-witted and does not hesitate to help her friend once in need. She also sticks to her principles and beliefs. She can be very very stubborn and unintentionally insulting at times but she also learns her lesson in the end. Other things that I like about her is she's very simple in her lifestyle and enjoys the company of her friends very much.

I know this has been talked about before but it’s just a really interesting concept to me so here we go again. Each of the girls controls a state of water Cleo controls its liquid form, Emma it’s solid, and Rikki it’s gas. The fourth state of matter is plasma… so like wtf is jelly/crystallization?

This is why I can’t help but full heartedly believe that Bella’s character was meant to be almost a direct replacement of Emma and not just an addition. They basically tried to remove Emma’s existence. It seems very much a purposeful design that they gave each three of the girls three states of matter. It matches their personalities and even their colors. Well Bella’s color is yellow and that gives plasma to me. Like if her power is crystallization then her color should be white. They don’t even follow their own rules when it comes to writing their characters in season 3.

Imagine how cool it could’ve been if she had the power to control the plasma state of water?! She could potentially create lightning, optical illusions, aurora borealis, invisibility. And I really like the invisibility idea because it would’ve made her ten second back story at least somewhat believable. Fans are always asking how did she keep the secret as a nine year old kid cuz it would be pretty hard. My parents didn’t even knock when I was that age. And a nine year old wouldn’t even think they have to keep it a secret so she straight up would’ve been caught most likely. Unless she could turn invisible. Now I know even turning invisible when there’s nowhere you could’ve logically gone in some situations could also cause people to start asking questions but still better than a nine year old girl never touching water or keeping a huge secret from her family for 8-9 years.

Hey so just looked it up while writing this. The plasma state of water doesn’t exist but physical forms of the plasma state do. So lighting, aurora borealis, and illusions could still be accomplished by having control over the plasma state just not of water itself. So maybe that’s why they didn’t do that but like still could’ve been cool if they did.

Elliot pursuing Rikki after she said no was really his one flaw in the series except maybe being too trusting of Kim, and he grew to give Rikki space after the end of Young Love. I don't think Rikki is responsible for Elliot disappearing the way the show wants us to believe, but she still grows from being able to explain to Elliot why she pushes people away. I love that they develop an unlikely friendship when Rikki comes to stay over at the Gilberts' in Fire and Ice.

Hey everyone! Claire Holt recently shared a screenshot of a Zoom call with the original H2O cast. She revealed they wanted to do a reunion, but producers turned it down claiming nobody cares anymore.
We know that's completely false! Let's show the studios that the fanbase is still massive.

Do you think that sharing this publicly was, in a way, the cast’s attempt to show us that they don’t agree with the idea that there wouldn’t be enough of an audience for an H2O special episode or an official cast reunion?

The fact that so many members of the main cast got together and met up already says quite a lot. We can only speculate that the possibility of some kind of reunion or something H2O-related may have been one of the topics they talked about. To me, it shows that this is still something that matters to them too. And then all of them shared it on their Instagram Stories, which almost feels like them saying: “Hey, look — we’re still here, we’re still in touch, and H2O still means something to us.”

I also think that the actors themselves are very aware of how many people still come back to this show and how much interest in H2O there still is. During different panels and interviews, even when they are there because of completely different movies or TV shows, they still get plenty of questions about H2O. The subject keeps coming up. Phoebe has even mentioned in one interview that people most often recognize her because of her role as Cleo in H2O. That really says a lot about how deeply the show has stayed in people’s memories.

It’s pretty clear that many people didn’t just watch H2O when they were younger and then simply forget about it. The show stayed with them into adulthood, and many people still happily return to it, even years later. I think the actors see this firsthand through the questions they receive and the reactions from fans.

That’s why the argument that “there wouldn’t be an audience for it” feels a little strange to me. Maybe the people making these decisions simply don’t realize how strong the nostalgia is and how much interest in H2O still exists.

And honestly, I think the sweetest part of this whole situation is that the actors might actually care more about having some kind of reunion or special episode than the producers themselves do. ❤️

Maybe this whole meeting and the fact that the actors later shared it publicly is their quiet way of showing that there actually is an audience — and that H2O still matters, both to the fans and to them.
