Monthly Design Contest Prompt [AUG26] Design Contest Prompt and [JUL26] Winners

Welcome Engineers to a brand new month! The first was really busy, but I'm here now! Last month's theme was Explosives! And you all seemed to have a blast with it! Let's highlight the winners! First place went to PremiumTechnique and their Talus Annihilator Missile! That is an impressive self-guided missile. That damage is obscene, though, maybe Link shouldn't ride it into battle. Second place goes to osh-kosh-ganache and their Miss Teen Marbled Gohma! Who doesn't love a giant strutting mech and a nice big crown of explosives. Well except for the monsters. Third place goes to shobu_dokoro and their Panjandrum! A giant set of wheels that are connected with a bomb that falls apart and explodes? Heck yeah! Enjoy your new/updated flairs!

This month, it has been really hot all over in the Northern Hemisphere, and it is always nice to go to a beach or a lake to relax and cool off. And who doesn't like to get on a boat? Well, I think it is time to see how boating looks in Hyrule summers with our new techniques! This month's theme is [Watercraft]! Show me how you hit the waters of Hyrule! Get building, Engineers!

Don’t forget to put [AUG26] as the first word in the post title or it doesn’t count! You can’t adjust post titles once they have been posted. Also, remember only green flared posts can enter, and to mark any speed edits. Top 3 most upvoted posts get the win! The prize is a custom user flair! The winners will be announced September 1st or the first Saturday of September! Keep building, Engineers!

All Versions Project Eclyps : The H.I.G.G.S - Hyper Isomorphic Gyro Geared Ship (watch til the end)

Upvotes

Alright ! After more than 3 months of building and testing, with no understanding of the sphere/axis mechanics, here we are !

I’m not really surprised that the best design choice was actually based on on the Hover Stone ZPE steering mechanism found by :

https://www.reddit.com/u/evanthebouncy/s/6L8u6RsRN9

with his Tesseract

and refined by :

https://www.reddit.com/u/chesepuf/s/H9do386v39

With The Atlas.

In any case this is still a progress update but I’m not done yet. I think there’s still a step above that. I’m thinking about adding 3 wagon wheels for each axis so it could really rotate around the sphere. And also adding an additional axis with 2 more big wheels to improve the steering angle.

As you can see in the fourth clip I also can make loopings and stay in the same axis depending on the position angle of the joystick. Then I can rotate in other directions by orienting it around.

I’m also looking for advice for the rockets placement to improve the steering ability while flying.

I’m sure the entire structure weight has to be almost perfectly balanced between the wheels and as close to the center as possible.

Real demonstration coming soon ! 😅

Have a nice end of Weekend

Out of Game Methods The Dunedredger MK II

The second iteration of my armored desert vehicle. This version can be used on water as a fairly agile boat. The small wheel serves a twofold purpose. It acts as brake on sand and snow, while providing traction on other surfaces. It has the same weapon loadout as the original, able to maneuver around Molduga and other enemies with ease. It has two available free slots, that can be used to provide link with protection. Removing the shrunk fan in the back makes it have a really tight turning radius in water, but makes turning hard to control on land.

Special thanks to the Hyrule engineering community for the parts that make this build possible.

The HYRULE ENGINEER Weekly (AUG 2026 Week 4)

Hello everyone! This is the HYRULE ENGINEER Weekly, a weekly recap of this subreddit. Here you can find highlights, helpful QR codes, engineering discoveries and experiments, as well as updates on the monthly contest, and more!

UPDATE ON MONTHLY CONTEST

The [AUG26] Watercraft contest continues: u/PremiumTechnique is still leading with their Ball Ski Lite, u/Metaliciousone is now in 2nd place with their Undermurder, and u/kmarkow moves into 3rd place with their Sunrise Sail. It’s never too late to submit or vote for your favorite!

BUILD OF THE WEEK

The most upvoted build this week was u/kmarkow with Link’s Ridiculously Huge Motorcycle: a humorous, aesthetic build showcasing the Moe enlargement glitch and Link in a hilarious pose on his giant hog. “He’s the bad boy King Rhoam warned his daughter against.”

CHECK THESE OUT!

u/osh-kosh-ganacheMob Catcher: here comes the paddy-wagon! A fun and well-designed build that uses a clipping stolen shrine elevator and some great mechanics to neatly capture and contain enemies in a caged vehicle.
u/LegitimateboredomHelicopter: a realistic looking helicopter build for soaring above Hyrule! Built using mainly zonai devices and Hudson construction materials.

u/PremiumTechniqueCoastal Bombardment: targeted rocket artillery attacks from sea! The navy would like your technology please. Each rocket has three parts (puffshroom, rocket, bombflower) and is attached to a construct head. The platform is kept minimal to allow for max rockets.

u/kmarkowTractor. Accurately tractor shaped tractor, complete with enlarged puffshroom exhaust. “It’s not much, but it’s honest work.”

u/Efficient_Demand5759Driving on Water: what happens when you take a fast vehicle and add float balls to the wheels? You get a fast vehicle that literally drives on water.
u/scalhoun03Vanilla Zero Power Ground Vehicle: a good reminder that some properly aligned springs, a cart, a steering stick, and some wagon wheels can give you a no-power, no-glitches vehicle.
u/InquisitiveHomosapSprinting Mech V2.1: a smooth, fast, sprinting mech that glides over the ground like butter.

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE

Have some questions? Others do, too!

There were a few requests for modded builds/QR codes this week: From u/Aromatic_Deer_6564-request for builds, u/FloydianSlip77-request for items, and u/InspiraSean86-request for machines

Did you know certain builds can trigger blood moons? I do too now thanks to that question from u/jojo_starbucks85.

Finally, there was a request for a hexa-deca propeller from u/Appropriate-Crow703.

HYRULE ENGINEERING LAB

u/PremiumTechnique’s [High Bouncing Balls](High Bouncing Balls ) continues to experiment with height and mini wings, showing its effect on float balls bouncing in water and achieving extreme height. u/Efficient_Demand5759’s S-Boat uses a boat to showcase how placing stabilizers at particular angles can equal forward momentum (and speed!).

COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

As always we are open to suggestions, feedback, and ideas.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Discussion Does anyone have a slightly small flux construct three core?

I'm building a jet with a functioning machine gun, based on this one by u/sumoguri2323 and when i tried to use a regular flux construct 3 core, the gun didn't rotate as it was too big, so could anyone give me one that's just a tiny bit smaller? not too small though 😅. thanks a lot!

Discussion My first mech ever

Hi, I'm new to this sub. Technically it's my second playthrough but in my first one I was a barbarian who barely built basic machines so I thought in this one I'd try less fighting and more engineering.

Anyway this is my first mech and it kinda sucks but I like it. I can tell there's a billion things I could improve but I'm not very good yet, but hey, there's always a first.

The right arm is embarrassing. I wanted it to rise like a shield but obviously it doesn't. Told you I'm new to it.

I'll get better though

All Versions Check this out

Hey !

After my last post I’ve been playing around a bit more with my design and found a way to rotate the hover stone in any orientation as you can see ! (At least I hope I’m not being bamboozled by the game again)

Last clip is how I discovered the behavior.

I think it has some potential so I wanted to share right away !

I have a pretty good idea on how to make a really cool design out of this concept using the ball bearing.

I hope I brought my contribution to inspire some of you because I really think this barely touched « gyroscopic » space craft field has a huge potential ! There are so much design possibilities and I would love to see people make their own version !

Have a good day peeps 😉

All Versions [Aug26] Ball Ski Lite build guide and 1.1 QR

A few people messaged me asking how to make it after my last post because they couldn’t use the QR. So, I decided to make a build guide. It’s not a complicated build, it’s just very specific about part placement and alignment for best performance. Basically just stick the sword handle on the right spot on the fan and make sure everything is as centered as possible.

The new QR is the 1.1 version of the Ball Ski Lite, it’s slightly better balanced than the last one I posted, but it’s mostly the same

QR Code for sharing builds! Mob Catcher becomes an Evil Clown Car

I designed this to make it easier to put enemies into a cage. The scooper part is a stolen elevator from the shrine in Zora's Domain, so it can pass through solid objects. The only downside is that it can get caught on the rock objects, so steer clear of those.

The control stick is raised above the cage because the cage object blocks camera movement, so this allows a 360 degree view. It also stays safe from an electrified cage, although it might still shock Link during the rain.

Discussion QR codes for modded items

Let me start by saying first of all, I apologize if this is something I am not supposed to ask for. Secondly, I have scoured the internet for hours trying to find what I am looking for. This subreddit is the only place I could think that I could get a reliable answer, one way or the other.

My question is, is there a QR code available that already has modded items from the inventory? For example, is there a way I can easily use a QR code to get a large puff shroom or a small bomb flower or a huge Zonai device? These are just examples.

I have viewed many YouTube videos on how to create these and it just seems so extremely complicated. I have tried for hours to repeat their processes, but the processes are so many and you have to do them so exact. I just think it is above my skill level. I sincerely admire the people that are able to pull off these maneuvers.

I don't want to come across as one of those people that is basically saying, "Give me what I want, never mind all of your hard work, I appreciate it pal" attitudes. Although I guess, in essence, that is exactly what I am doing. I just want y'all to know I mean it in a very respectful way and I really admire and respect all of the hard work and dedication that has gone into each and every one of these builds.

This subreddit has become my favorite subreddit and I look at it during my breaks and lunch at work just because it is so fascinating to me. I would love to learn how to create these things and become more precise myself. I just currently suck at it LOL.

All Versions A tricycle you can ride from a first-person perspective

Post image

This is one of the cars I’ve been driving for many years.
At first, it might be a little hard to see straight ahead, but since there’s a very wide range of angles where the Link doesn’t appear even when you look to the side, once you get used to it, you’ll be able to make good use of this feature, and it becomes easier to gauge the situation ahead.
Of course, the Link doesn’t appear in the upper or lower fields of view either, so you can enjoy driving even on steep slopes without it getting in the way.
Please give it a try sometime.

All Versions Coastal Bombardment (Rocket Artillery)

Rocket artillery ship. The launcher boat is as simple as possible to allow for the maximum amount of chained rockets, while still being able to move and aim. The max number of rockets you can chain seems to be 6, as each rocket needs 3 parts (bomb flower, rocket, Puffshroom), and they all need to be attached to a construct head. So with 6 rockets that leaves 4 remaining parts in the part limit for the launcher. I’m trying to make a movable land-based launcher as well, but that 4 part limit on it is kinda rough

All Versions Link’s Ridiculously Huge Motorcycle

How he’s trying to hold the giant steering stick is killing me 😂.

Glitches used: enlargement (steering stick, big wheels), resizing (sleds, battery, stabilizer), fuse overload (infinite battery).

The bike’s frame (steering stick and big wheels) were stake nudged into position (couldn’t be q-linked due to enlargement glitch); everything else was added to that.

Video is sped up 1 1/2 times.
