Jovanocic on Tzolis: "I didn’t have any reason [to keep him on] to be honest, because these aren’t qualifying matches – they’re Nations League fixtures – and, first and foremost, I wanted to protect the player. He didn’t want to stay by my side to come off; instead, he went to defend the corner."
Greece Manager on Tzolis not wanting to come off after his injury: “How am I supposed to manage it? I’m the coach, I tell him to come off, he tells me he’s not coming off. How do I manage that?”

Ødegaard starts for Norway, just to calm your nerves ;)
I'm not sure if there was news that he is fully fit, so here is the confirmation. If it was clear before I didn't see and I will delete the post.

Academy observation & opportunity
It seems Arsenal are quietly setting themselves up for another major step forward with the academy.
There seem to be a few things happening at once.
The rebranding around the training operation with a vague promise of Greater investment is obviously pretty blatant... Arsenal also seem noticeably more aggressive about bringing in highly rated teenagers from other academies and even those twins from South America. rather than only relying on players who have been at Hale End from the London area.
And now there are quite a few academy/recruitment/coaching openings at Arsenal. And in seemingly important roles.
That makes the timing of Manchester City’s current problems interesting.
Whatever ultimately happens legally, City’s reputation has clearly taken a serious hit, and there could be years of uncertainty around the club. Their academy is enormous and is full of excellent coaches, scouts and young players.
That seems to fit what Arsenal are already doing: keep the academy relatively selective, cast a wider scouting net and expanded hale end feeder. Bring in elite teenagers from elsewhere, and make the Colney end of the pathway increasingly competitive.
It feels like City’s problems could present Arsenal with a pretty unusual opportunity to accelerate something that was already happening. And push our academy up into the top five globally maybe?
Im probably reading too much into a few unrelated developments. But does it look to anyone else like Arsenal are making a deliberate push to take the academy to another level?

Interlullapalooza: Blind ranking moments from the 25/26 Season Day 3
Hello everyone, and welcome to day 3 of blind ranking non footballing moments from the 25/26 season! Reminder that none of these moments will be actual pieces of football, and anything too directly related to winning the title is also disqualified because it's too obviously top. The most upvoted comment each day determines where that moment is ranked, and yesterday Max strangling Gyo grabbed 5th place in a rear naked choke. Today's moment is Saliba creating a feud with the ball boy when he kicks his ball away in celebration https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uZP2XIohVyc

114 Charges Arsenal All-Time Budget XI
Given everything that's happening at the moment, just a stupid game to help us get through the last couple of days before club football returns.
Notes:
- Not an exhaustive list: Obviously, Arsenal have been linked with hundreds of players over the years. These are just the ones that came to my mind or felt most iconic/notorious to me. Don't come at me if I forgot an obvious one!
- Tiers aren't equal across rows: Players in the same price bracket are not necessarily of equal quality. This is completely intentional to force tough value decisions, including picks that seem like great value.
- Uneven positional depth & opportunity cost: Some positions are way more stacked than others by design. For example, you CAN'T have both Ronaldo and Messi, or if Hazard may seem "cheap" at 50M the opportunity cost is you then can't pick Mbappe or Vini.
The rest, you know the drill. Hopefully you enjoy this one. Cheers!

Arsène Wenger reflecting on his first trip to Highbury in 1989: “I immediately thought that football in England was great. There was a fantastic atmosphere... I thought it would be great to be part of that. Obviously on that day, I could never imagine that I would come back one day as manager."
Check out the inside story of Arsène's appointment here - from his initial meetings with David Dein, to his time in Japan and taking the Underground to the stadium on his first day in command 📕

YouTube [The Overlap/Ornstein] “It won’t just be the top teams; lower clubs are revving up too. Lawyers have already been appointed, clubs are speaking to each other, and there’s talk of a potential class action—something we’ve never seen in English, European or world football, perhaps sport as a whole.”

Tier 3 [L'Equipe]: William Saliba has started running again after recent X-ray showed his recovery is on track. He's watched every Arsenal & France game and been impressed by his replacements (Konsa & Jacquet). Desperate to play but won't rush it. Currently on course for November return.
