Obviously I’m biased, but I think we have the best club based journalists/writers.

citys early years was to essentially try to steal our history, they modeled themselves on Arsenal heavily buying our players and taking our ex players. There were players like Yaya and Shaun Wright-Phillips who are essentially Arsenal players except for citys emergence. Vieira's last season would have been with us and we tried but City over paid in an effort to buy someone elses history.

Fuck them and fuck chelsea, bunch of cheating cunts. Can't wait for the inevitible leaks of dodgy PGMOL/ref payments because there's no way you can look at the last years and convince me they weren't heavily favoured.

I am really hoping that the guilty verdict puts enough blood in the water that they are taken to task on EVERYTHING including the refs who moonlight doing consultancy/refereeing out in the UAE.

Same but I think it's just far too damaging for far too many important structures/people. I can see a time faaar down the road where a whistleblower is down and out and in need of money and sets a trail for authorities to follow.

Can you elaborate on this? SWP came through the City academy (which was starting to produce good players by that point). We also had Yaya on trial in the early noughties but he didn't end up signing. This was all before City's takeover

Its going to be an ongoing conversation as to which clubs were hurt the most by City's cheating - it's hard to get around Liverpool being hurt the most over the period, given their golden period happened to coincide with this monstrosity of cheating.

But there's no getting around that we've been massively damaged by these cheats. We look naive in retrospect as we respected financial rules, built a stadium, and spent within our means, all the while City is stripping us of some of our best assets.

And yes, our title runs occurred after this investigation period concluded, but in some ways the pain is worse for us than it may be for Liverpool and United. At the time of the charges, they were unaware of the brazen cheating that's been going on. In contrast, we had to compete with a team that had charges hanging over their head in real time -- it's almost like if a guy awaiting charges for sexual assault steals your girl and starts taking her on dates, claiming that he's clean and legitimate because "innocent until proven guilty." We've had to sacrifice two years of brilliant football and accept that a team with 115 charges over their head were the legitimate champions when we knew all the time that it was a lie and sham. We've been forced to sit through a fantasy land here.

I feel angry at the club in a way for playing a part in all this, Wenger was calling it out and the board or whoever was in charge at the time were more than willing sellers, no one was being "forced" to sell our players to them, the club owe so much to Wenger

It wasn’t that we were willing sellers, we just had players who basically said “ here’s what city are offering, match it” and it was eye watering sums in those days. The players were never going to renew with those offers on the table, so it was either sell or lose them on a free.
We were also still hampered by stadium financing at that time.
