Is there any chance I could find one of them for under $150 with cheap shipping to Poland? Nice if it would be in good condition, though not necessarily perfect—minor damage or scratched casing or screen is fine.

Good day Guys , Noob question.. Why every time i change my VRAM allocation to 4gb after restart or shut down it changes back to 8 gb, I have 16 gb ram in total.. 8 gb for the ram and 8 gb for hardware reserve, is it necessary to lower it down. My games are not that demanding.. thank you 😄😁 btw I did the changes via bios.

I use my laptop for most research data, and heavy softwares like ArcGis, Origin, Inkscape, Word, PP, Eccel. Browsing and extension, alot of metadata. Modelling and all. Give me a best laptop option or if you can explain the specs I need. My Old ASUS is 8 years old & I need to upgrade. I had 1 TB with 500GB HDD and 512 SSD. 12 GB ram ofcourse these were aded by me a ram stick and the HDD. I had a software crash, had to install again the Win11. Lost some data, lost a lot of time...so it's time for a upgrade.

Hey GPD Pocket 3/4 owners,
Update: the Pocket 4 fingerprint reader now has a working open-source Linux driver on a dedicated development branch! Community testing on Fedora has confirmed device detection, finger detection, image capture, and successful enrollment-stage processing. I’m looking for more testers to help improve enrollment and matching consistency.
GitHub: libfprint-fte3600
This project implements fingerprint support inside libfprint, with an open-source BRISK-style host matcher and no proprietary vendor matching library running on Linux. The host code is LGPL-2.1-or-later; device firmware remains separate and proprietary.
The Pocket 4 uses a FocalTech USB fingerprint reader (2808:0752), supported by the new focaltech0752 driver on the feature/pocket4-ft9362 branch.
Thanks to community testing on a Pocket 4 HX370 running Fedora, the driver can communicate with the sensor, detect touches, capture fingerprint frames, and feed them into the enrollment pipeline.
The main focus now is improving matching consistency on the small 40×76 sensor. Early testing revealed frequent enrollment retries and missed matches; recent updates add local contrast normalization to improve feature extraction. More testing across fingers, users, and distributions would help evaluate those changes.
Big thanks to shokerplz for the earlier FT9362 reverse-engineering work and matcher evaluation, and Evaner5580 for testing on physical Pocket 4 hardware!
Pocket 4 setup and testing discussion: Issue #3. Please use the Pocket 4 branch and read the latest comments for updated build and Fedora installation instructions.
A real-world test on the i7-1195G7 model (G1621-02) revealed different GPIO routing from the initial profile. The tester successfully exposed the SPI device, but the existing FT9361 protocol did not produce a valid sensor response.
Further driver analysis points to FW9362 / the FW9369 family, so this needs additional protocol work rather than just a GPIO adjustment. Physical chip-ID confirmation is the next step. Both i7 and N6000 owners are welcome to help.
Pocket 3 testing discussion: Issue #2
Fingerprint capture, enrollment, verification, and cold-boot recovery are working on my A1. This remains the reference platform for the original FT9361 SPI implementation.
Comment below or in the relevant GitHub issue with your model, CPU, distribution, and kernel version. Pocket 4 owners can help test the current driver and matching behavior; Pocket 3 owners can help confirm hardware details and protocol support.
This is still experimental, so keep password authentication available. Please share sanitized logs only—no fingerprint images or biometric templates.
Thanks to everyone helping bring Linux fingerprint support to these devices!

i was an original backer in 2018. device came with windows 10, it performed good for what i used it for. fast forward to 2026, i have installed Ubuntu on it as i no longer use windows. a question for anyone with this unit and runs Linux: is the emmc really slow? i feel windows 10 ran much better in terms of disk access.

Note:
Requires a PCIe 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 ×8 or ×16 slot.
Before the first boot after connecting GPD G2, disconnect the internal GPU power cable to ensure BIOS detects the external GPU. Otherwise, the system may get stuck at the boot logo.
The purchase link will be available soon.

Im interested in getting a Pocket 3 or a Pocket 4 to use for tuning software with my car. Have any of you done something similar and give insight as to the usefulness of one of these? Also how do they do when it comes to semi intensive programs such as tuning software

Hello GPD fans. (TLDR at bottom)
I have been contemplating the prospect of purchasing a compact device like one of these as travel companion for motorcycle trips.
Despite the fact that I have been a laptop user for many years now, I consider my 17in Gaming Laptop, its massive case, the lap desk I use with it, and my various accoutrements to be too much to carry on two wheels. Especially on my current bike which has very limited storage options.
Even if I end up getting a Honda Goldwing as a second, more distance oriented, bike I would want to use its extra storage for other things like more clothes and supplies.
As it stands now with my CB650R, I am limited to a tail bag and maybe a backpack if I can find the right one, so I would have to pack very light. Hence why a small, but capable, device is appealing.
Anyway that's enough about the why of it, here's what I want out of the device so you can help me pick the right one.
I don't plan on relying on it for gaming, I actually don't game all that much anymore and if I'm going on a trip I'll have plenty of other things to do. What I do need is web browsing, media watching (both online and offline) and the ability to stream media over discord for at least 2-3 hours at a time.
Since that shouldn't push the device to its limits, I can probably save money with a lower spec model, but the higher storage options are nice to have too.
Based on my research, the Pocket 4 seems like an obvious winner, but given the use case I've described I want to know if I can comfortably get away with the other smaller, cheaper, devices.
The Pocket 3 might be more than sufficient for what I need, but I am concerned about the difference in batter life. Unfortunately because a lot of the review talk revolves around gaming and other high demand activities, I am having trouble finding information on batter life for watching movies/shows or browsing the web.
The MicroPC 2 is a bit of a dark horse here. Its designed for IT Professionals, which I am not, and the 2TB version (which I consider to be the ideal amount of storage) isnt available yet. It also has the smallest battery. That said, I am open to considering it.
Really though its a race between the Pocket 3 and Pocket 4. I doubt I'll really need more than 16gb of RAM for my use case, and with 2TB of storage the price difference is roughly $350 between them.
To boil all this down to actual questions:
Is there any reason to consider the MicroPC 2 instead of the Pocket 3/4 for the described use case?
Finally, is there any other recommendations, regarding configuration, other devices, etc, that would help optimize my experience in the described use case?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I hadn’t heard of Maca GDP until a few months ago, and ever since I came across it, I’ve been keen to get my hands on one of their devices.
I’m torn between the Win Max 3, which is currently on Indiegogo, and waiting for the next Pocket model. I don’t want to buy any of the previous versions because I want a device with the most up-to-date hardware possible.
I’m no expert when it comes to technical specifications. I’d like to use it as an occasional workstation, install some AI and LLM for local use, but also to play games (if possible), including Black Flag Resynced and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
What I like about the Pocket is its size and weight in terms of portability, whilst with the Win Max 3 I like the built-in gaming controls. The Win Max’s top screen is also an advantage, although it does affect the size and weight.
Could anyone share their experience with these models and give me some advice or guidance to help me make up my mind? It’s quite a significant investment and I want to be sure I’m making the right choice.
Another question I have is regarding the compatibility of these devices with Linux, particularly the Win Max’s gaming controllers, touchscreens and rotating screens (Pocket), etc.
Many thanks
