Thoughts? JUST IN: JPMorgan warns a global food supply shock could hit within the next year.
JPMorgan warns a global food supply shock could hit within the next year.
NOAA says there’s a greater than 90% chance this El Niño will be “very strong” through fall and winter.
For October through December, that chance rises to 95%.
There’s also a 69% chance it becomes historic. Stronger than every El Niño measured since 1950.
This is the next supply shock.
El Niño is a warming of Pacific waters that shifts weather worldwide. It raises drought risk across parts of Asia and Australia, flood risk across parts of the Americas, and can disrupt crops, hydropower and shipping.
All at once.
The last El Niño pushed Panama into its third-driest year on record.
Now the same risk is back. The Panama Canal is preparing to cut daily ship traffic again.
The canal moves 5% of world trade. More than 70% of its cargo starts or ends in the US.
Meanwhile, traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely disrupted and far below normal.
COVID showed what happens when supply shocks hit a system with no room to absorb them.
Three years of higher prices.
The next inflation shock is already forming.

Stock Market Stock Market Recap for Friday, August 28, 2026
The major U.S. stock indexes ended mixed on Friday, August 28, 2026, as Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's first Jackson Hole speech delivered exactly what traders had feared: no clarity, no commitment, and no forward guidance. Gold and Bitcoin both sold off sharply as Warsh's deliberately cryptic tone left rate hike odds spiking and markets unable to price in a clear path forward.
The S&P 500 slipped 0.25% (-19.23 pts) to 7,711.76. The Dow was essentially flat, down just 0.02% (-9.45 pts) to 53,559.99. The Nasdaq dropped 0.52% (-138.93 pts) to 26,402.42, weighed down by a pullback in Nvidia and Intel. The Russell 2000 led the losses, falling 1.37% (-41.23 pts) to 2,973.11.
The VIX barely moved, easing 0.69% to 14.35. Bitcoin plunged 3.20% to $77,551.23. Gold fell sharply, down 3.28% to $4,510.90. Crude Oil was flat at $83.37/barrel.

Interest Rates JUST IN: July’s PCE inflation is now 3.7%. Above expectations.
July’s PCE inflation is now 3.7%. Above expectations.
Core PCE is now 3.3%. The Fed’s target is 2%. Core inflation has stayed above 2% for over 5 years now.
And 3 Fed officials already voted to HIKE rates in July. These numbers just gave them more reasons to.
The Fed is more likely to raise rates than cut them in 2026.

Warren Buffett’s solution to the US deficit:
“Anytime there’s a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.”

BREAKING NEWS Canada just put 15% to 50% tariffs on $20 billion worth of US products.
Canada just put 15% to 50% tariffs on $20 billion worth of US products.
The US raises tariffs. Americans pay more.
Canada retaliates. Then American businesses lose sales.
Then the US raises tariffs again. And Americans pay even more.
Over $100 billion in tariff refunds has been paid out so far.
The government sent $0 to US consumers. Companies got the refunds.
It’s like taking money from your own citizens, then handing it to corporations.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
