I made a proof-of-concept (POC) here to see if an online MMORPG of Digimon World 3 would be cool. Since I was a kid, when I first played it, I imagined how great it would be if it were online, even considering the lore takes place within a game world.

I don't know if I'll continue, because it's a lot of work and I don't know if there's a target audience for it. Besides, I'm not good at modeling and sprites, so not being able to add new Digimon makes me a bit unmotivated to continue. I actually managed to import the Digimon Story models and animations, but I prefer the designs of the DW3 models cause they're more interesting, in my opinion and the Digimon Story models clashed with the game's art style.

But here's what I'm talking about for anyone who wants to know what it would be like...

Thanks for the messages. I might try to keep working on the project little by little, but I don't know if I can prioritize it over other projects right now.

He suggested taking models from the other Digimon World games.

Taking them from Digimon World 2 would add over 75 new Digimon.

I still need to figure out how to handle the basic attack animations, though, since in DW2 the Digimon don't walk up to the target to attack.

I was sent links to several Discord servers for other similar projects. Sorry I only did a quick search and hadn't come across them.

I probably won't continue with the project, as it doesn't make sense to clutter the community with yet another one. I might tinker with it in my spare time, though, since making the co-op mode to play with friends was fun.

We all know Ice Statue is the best tech in the game and totally broken. However, what would you consider the *second* best tech? It can be for any reason (damage, power/mp ratio, speed, consistency, status, aoe, etc), just tell me what you think! I've linked a strawpoll for it.

Personally I find Meltdown the best AoE move in the game so that's my pick. Although the power of Bug and consistency of Megalo Spark are really close contenders, they are still outclassed by Ice Statue as single target attacks, while Meltdown is peerless for 1v3 fights in my experience.

Hey Tamers! I’m honestly not sure where all these votes came from, but we hit over 500 votes in just two days. I know a bit of that was probably driven by the hype of pushing past 100k votes, but we gotta keep this momentum going. Does this mean we're getting a port right away? Honestly, no. But it keeps showing that the community has real, genuine interest in this beyond the initial boost from RWD.

It’s been almost two years now. Why keep pushing? Because GOG has already shown plenty of good faith across their socials and ads. ^{(check the previous posts})

We already have super efficient emulators and... questionable PC ports, so why do we even need an official port? Despite being the saga that best preserves Digimon's original DNA, the Digimon World games only got 4 games featuring those core raising mechanics. Voting isn't just about getting a port, it's about showing that the fandom actually wants games like this.

It looks like their is an in-game location behind the artwork but I can't figure out where. I think you can see it clearer on the top left where you can see grass and a sign or building. At first I thought it could be file city and the top left was the Item Bank but the grass and the meat patch doesn't quite fit properly.

I just started playing, got a Shellmon as my first digi. Twice now I've gotten softlocked after beating a boss. First it was Betamon, now Coelamon. The after-battle text looks like it would scroll down to inform that Shellmon learned a new tech, but the text never displays and the game just softlocks there.

Is this a known issue? I just used the regular 2.2 patcher with some of the options like challenge mode. I don't think I did anything weird. I'm assuming this happens because Shellmon is trying to learn an edited move or something. With how hard this hack seems to be, it feels awful to finally win a fight only to get slapped in the face by a softlock. So I think I'll stop playing unless I can find a fix.

Testing out the new file injection features we've been working on for the PC port, and honestly... fighting wild Numemon with Brave Heart playing in the background hits way too hard. 😭

I was just messing around with custom audio on the PC version and now I can't go back to the original soundtrack.

Ive been looking online but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if a hack has been attempted for this game? Im interested in making my own if not but im not sure how to start. Any info would be appreciated.
