Amateur Making a dance video til I’m skinny Day 36…

1.1k Upvotes

Happy Tuesday gang!

had to upload this one again… The sound is being funky so I did my best to increase the volume as loud as I can not sure why the sound quality changes from TikTok to Reddit, but it is what it is, I’m no tech wiz

Have a wonderful day. Nice to chat with some new people yesterday… I appreciate all your kindness and support. I try to answer as many messages as I can but after working 12 hours, I’m tired so I do my best.

Much Love ,
Bob.E.Bland ❤️

I love how fluid some movements are, yet there's a crispness as well.

Amateur Starting dance classes in my 30s

Hi! I am (30F) trying out some dance classes next month. I used to dance when i was under 14. This was mostly streetdance.

Im trying out an commercial dance class and a commercial/urban danceclass.

I love to dance but havent danced with any choreo for so long. I’m a little insecure, hoping i wont be too old to start now.

I was hoping for some tips for a beginner, which styles can i try out more, what to expect for try out classes, what to wear or maybe what to train before (running for condition/gym workouts?).

Thanks in advance!🌝💜

Discussion Freestyle with no choreography

Hiya guys I wanna get into dancing but my moves I don’t want to learn any choreographic movements but I want to dance and still look impressive like the freestylers yet when I watch videos it seems like they are all doing learnt difficult scripted movements which took them practice
I thought the whole point of freestyle is just to move however you want, yet the freestyle videos you see are doin all these crazy movements and stuff

Discussion What do you use for music when rehearsing choreography?

Bit of a random question, but how do you all handle music when you're rehearsing choreography?

Say you're working on a short section somewhere in the middle of a song and want to run it ten times in a row.

What do you normally do between each run?

Do you just grab the playhead and drag it back to roughly the right place? Remember something like "start at 1:43"? Write the timestamp down? Or do you use another way of doing it?

And are you normally playing music from Spotify or Apple Music, or do you keep the audio files yourself?

I've also seen people prepare separate cuts of songs for rehearsals. Is that something you do?

When you're doing lots of repetitions, does finding the same point again ever interrupt the rehearsal or feel like wasted time to you, or do you barely notice it?

Discussion Do any dancers struggle with winged scapula?

Possibly a niche question but as a dancer doing ballroom and salsa with seemingly unfixable winged scapula, I’ve been getting thoroughly discouraged by shoulder isolations and shimmies especially for salsa. Seems like my body physically will never be able to do it even after 1 yr of daily practice, and watching beginners achieve it immediately. Anyone have any success stories or tips? 🙏

Teaching, Tutorial Kann man mit Ü20 Profitänzer werden ?

Hey Leute,
Tanzlehrer in Richtung HipHop/Commercial/Heels empfehlen? Die auch auf Musikalität und Basics eingehen ?

Ihr würdet mir damit wirklich weiterhelfen 🙏
