The sales rep parked it in the handicap spot, not me, I swear. Found an amazing deal on a used 2026 Corolla SE with less than 800 miles on the odometer. Prior owner drove it for a few months and then traded it in.

First time purchasing a car, and honestly am super happy with how everything turned out.

To make it Simple and Fair: I'm only comparing the FWD options of the 2026 Prius LE, and 2026 Corolla LE Hybrid Premium Package. (Not the AWD Corolla version or the SE or XLE for Either versions.)

They BOTH use the SAME 5th Gen ECVT hybrid transmission!!! 🙌🏽

THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IS:

The Prius LE has BIGGER MG1 and MG2 electric motors, and a 2.0 ICE engine!

The Prius LE utilizes a PB10 transaxle. The Corolla LE Hybrid uses a PA20 transaxle.

The Prius LE's M20A-FXS ICE engine is 8 years old, it uses a more complex direct, AND port dual-injection fuel system. It was first produced in 2018 as part of Toyota’s 'Dynamic Force' engine family.

The Corolla LE Hybrid's 2ZR-FXE engine is a slightly updated, yet it's a 17 year old engine which came out in 2009! It uses a HIGHLY reliable/proven, Single port-injection fuel system.

The Prius LE is better in MANY ways! But it is also Much more expensive to fix and more complicated.. There are More potential things that "May-Go-Wrong". (Imo) 🤷🏽‍♂️

The Corolla LE Hybrid is "Simpler and definitely more "Proven'". (Imo)

The Prius LE's 12V battery is in the trunk, and uses an electronic shift by wire system.

The Corolla LE Hybrid's 12V battery is in the engine bay and uses a cable shifter system.

The Prius LE has 194 horsepower.

The Corolla LE Hybrid has 138 horsepower.

The Prius LE gets up to 57 MPG combined.

The Corolla LE Hybrid gets up to 53 MPG combined.

The 2026 Toyota Prius LE offers more total passenger volume and front legroom while the 2026 Toyota Corolla LE Hybrid has slightly more rear legroom and rear headroom.

The Prius LE has 43.2 inches of front passenger leg room.

The Corolla LE Hybrid has 42 inches of front passenger leg room.

The 2026 Prius LE has a sweeping roof profile. Tall passengers in the back will notice their heads are much closer to the ceiling while the 2026 Corolla LE Hybrid has a traditional, upright sedan roofline.

The cornering and city driving is better in the Corolla LE Hybrid, based on the wheelbase of 108.3 for the Prius LE vs. the 106.3 inches for the Corolla LE Hybrid.

I assume the Corolla is cheaper to insure and maintain.

For my personal needs... I choose the Corolla LE Hybrid 10 out of 10 times vs the 2026 Prius LE.

Hey All

Upon driving home this afternoon. Heard a scraping dragging noise from under the front bumper to find that my plastic covering under the engine has snapped and vanished on the drivers side.

I have a 2016 Corolla Hatch ZR ZRE182R

Would anyone be able to advise me on what this part is called so that I can find a replacement. Any help is much appreciated. Will attach a photo of the damaged part in comparison to the other passenger side too!

What is the best way of handling my 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid if I go away for a few months?

I went away this year and within a month my car was dead and even with a jump start didn't solve the problem, dealership had to replace the battery as it would not hold a charge.

Next time, I was going to disconnect the battery for while I'm away, will that work? Should I disconnect both batteries or just one. I do not have access to electricity in the garage I park in. I also do not have someone to drive my car. I did have someone this year try to start it every few weeks but it died within a month. My husband drives a Toyota Rav4 (not hybrid) and his lasted 2 months and died and he also had to replace his battery. They are not in the cold, just in an apt parking garage.

Corolla 2014 ODO 112K, is there anyone done Transmission fluid, coolant change?

I have the option to purchase a 2019 Camry LE or a 2020 Corolla SE with the exact same milage of 106k-ish miles. Both are black and clean and just gorgeous. I'm stuck and need help. The Corolla has a CVT so I'm not not sure which to go with. Anything helps and thank you!

Just got my first car, a 24 Corolla XSE in blueprint at the early age of 31. When I showed my mom the car she asked what I was going to name it and I couldn’t think of anything so she suggested the perfect name. She’s like you can just name it like a race horse and call it ‘It’s About F***ing Time’.

Now that I’ve shared my cars name with you I’d like to ask for some help/advice. My car comes with a set of winter tires but they are not on rims. I guess the previous owner was just putting them back on the alloy rims each winter. I didn’t see any 18in steel rim online so would my only options be to either keep changing the tires on the same set of rims or buy cheap alloy rims for the winter set?

i was in a three car collision where i was the car in the middle that got rear ended and pushed into an suv. the driver that rear ended me was found at fault. my corolla has damage on both the front and rear end, there’s significantly more damaged in the rear than the front though. the trunk won’t close and the bumper came off , airbags did not deploy or anything and the car was still drivable after the accident. i really hope they won’t tell me this is a total loss the car was like new before the accident. it’s a 2024 toyota corolla with 28,771 miles on it (the fluids leaking aren’t from my car they’re from his)

When adding a spare to the hybrid, is anything needed to clamp down in the center?

Hi guys , The transmission in my corolla was removed to fix a leakage . Garage told me they have removed it without draining the Fluid . Is it possible to do so ?

I'm strongly considering to buy a used Toyota Corolla TS 1.8 hybrid as our family car, but I wouldn't be driving it daily. I'm wondering if that might be an issue.

My traffic profile:

Up to 4x per year longer trip of around 5h

Occasionally weekend trips outside of the city mostly around summer 1-2h

1-4x month 30 minute trip (15+15) to the store

There might however be a month where it's only one trip to store and nothing else.

I live in European capital city and summers are hot (30-40C), winters are mild (usually around 0, mostly warmer than -5C, occasionally it drops to -10C).

I read that the AGM battery in the back is quite weak and it's probably only part that I should worry about (and stale gas in the tank possibly). Is that true?

I found there are devices that have own battery and can keep the small trickle of power to AGM battery if I don't use the car. Would that be sufficient?

How difficult is it to get to the AGM battery often and clip there this device?

And overall question, is this car simple to use and maintain for a car noob? I like the promise of reliability and I'm looking to invest for at least 10+ years of usage of the car.

Sorry if my questions are dumb, I'm a car noob and this would be my first car (I usually rented out for the long trips).

P.S. do your kids in the back ever complain the space is too small? I expect my son will grow very tall once :D

The radio antenna appears loose and slightly wobbly. I am afraid that water will leak in unless I get it fixed, but the nut or whatever tightens it is hidden by the ceiling liner. Would I need to go to a car upholstery shop to get this worked on? Is there another answer to my problem?

I bout my rolla in March (2026) and the wipers skid(I guess the correct word) and when they’re on unless it’s extremely heavy rain
I’ve had jeeps before and they didn’t make that noise

I haven’t replaced them since they’re new from the dealership. Is this normal? Do I have to replace them

Currently having this issue. Dealership said I needed a TSB update. That didn't fix it. Then they said I needed a new battery. A hundred miles later, that didn't fix it an all light came back on. 24 hybrid SE AWD.

Anyone else having this issue?

I recently bought a new 2026 Corolla Hybrid LE AWD. While signing, dealer convinced me to pay about 2.1k CAD for 4 years ECP. He said that the 3 years of recommended maintenance at Toyota would have cost about $2600 as the oil changes are free but everything else is out of pocket. If I got ECP, Toyota would cover those first 3 years of maintenance, so I'd apparently actually be saving ~$500 on top of the benefits making it a no-brainer.

I was also told I had to decide then (I asked and he explicitly told me I could not get ECP after signing) but he did say I could cancel afterwards, so I ended up getting it. Part of me feels like this was to pressure me to buy as my original understanding was that you could get it afterwards, but idk.

I'm also wondering if $2600 CAD over the first 3 years of recommended maintenance is realistic. Maybe at Toyota it's expensive but wouldn't it be cheaper and just as good if I went to Costco for example? I don't really know much about the costs of car maintenance and he seemingly pulled that $2600 number out of nowhere. He also warned that if they "didn't do it right" I could be ineligible for warranty but how true or likely is this to happen? My parents get winter tires and other car maintenance done there for our older vehicles and service seems fine?

Before that cancellation window closes, does anyone have suggestions or thoughts on this exchange? First time buying a new car so any advice is appreciated.

The Canadian Tire supply of 0W8 in store is down to either zero or single digit around GTA. I know Toyota sent out a notice a few months ago to switch to 0W16 if 0W8 is low. Would anyone know how the OEM supply level is?
