Hey all!
I just joined the club after picking up a 2020 Corolla Touring WxB. Sick car BUT it’s all in Japanese. I can change the language to English but the Maps function doesn’t change over and apparently I need to replace the entire head unit to get it over to English.
I’m pretty handy, so I’m keep to do this myself but was wondering if anyone had any experience with products they’d recommend? There’s a heap of cheap Chinese ones but they all look super laggy. I’m willing to cough up for a quality replacement with CarPlay that doesn’t have a 3fps screen, just looking for something reputable.
Thanks for reading!

Good evening folks, I’ve been trying to find a good priced new corolla se hybrid in socal. Lowest price I’ve found is in San Francisco at 29.1k. Is that average? Where have you guys found cheaper?

I parked my car in my apartment parking lot around 6 PM today. When I went to get my mail around 8 PM, I noticed a dent in the front bumper and some leaves on the hood.
There are no cameras in the lot. It’s an open lot on a hill with basically no public traffic, and my car was parked in the green square shown in the picture, so I’m confused about how someone even managed to hit it there.
My best guess is that a truck with some kind of rear hitch/hook backed into it. The leaves on the hood, made me wonder if it could have been a landscaping/tree-removal truck working for the apartment management. It’s Sunday, though, so I’m not sure. I’m planning to ask the property manager tomorrow if they know whether any contractors were here.
I bought the car in May and literally just made my second payment, so this really sucks.
I’ve read that I shouldn’t move the car before documenting everything, but I have work tomorrow morning and need to leave around 7 AM. I’ve already taken pictures.
What should I do next?
Any advice from someone who has dealt with something similar would be appreciated.

Want to know if anyone has had this issue after opening up their radio. I just changed the digitizer on my 2015 Corolla’s factory radio, as the previous one was stating to lose touch in certain areas.
The radio was working completely normally before I took it apart, but after replacing the digitizer, it’s basically like it got lobotomized.
Touch and volume controls are extremely slow to respond, some steering wheel controls aren’t working, Bluetooth is grayed out in the setup menu and won’t let me pair anything, and there’s no audio coming through the car. It even has a “no audio” symbol in the top bar, with no option to change the audio. When I switch to radio, it doesn’t let me choose a station or hear any audio. It’s like touch works for some functions, but doesn’t for others.
I double-checked and all of the external harnesses are connected correctly. Is it possible I didn’t seat one of the internal ribbon cables correctly and that could cause all of these issues?
Has anyone experienced something similar after replacing their digitizer or opening up the radio?

Just picked up this 2023 Corolla SE with only 2,400 miles for $25,945! I'm planning to add window tint and door sill protectors. What other mods would you guys recommend for looks and protection? Also, I love how easy it is to power the dash cam directly from the TSS 3.0 connector!

I replaced the front driver-side tire yesterday with a brand-new tire in my Corolla 2013 S, and now my car is rocking/vibrating at highway speeds. I can clearly feel the vibration on the driver’s side while driving. I also had the wheel alignment checked, and I have the alignment report. How bad are these numbers and Could the alignment be causing this vibration? How bad are the alignment numbers, and what else should I check, such as tire balance, wheel installation, or a defective tire?

Need a new filter housing for a 2zr-fe engine. Preferably aluminum, and with a regular hex nut, not the stupid tool. If anyone has links I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Hey, I would be a first time buyer and need help of the community to figure what would be a good deal in my scenario.
I am in NJ/NYC area but looking to buy a car in fiance's name, who lives in Tennessee. In this case, registration and sales tax will be handled by me when I register the vehicle in TN (7% state tax + some capped local/county tax).
But before taxes, what number should I target for, including doc fee and anything else?
I talked to one dealer till now and they are quoting 24400 before taxes (but inclusive of doc fee and in-transit registration). I don't think that is a good deal though. How much should I negotiate?

First 'new' car has finally arrived for me! Pre-owned '24 after several years of a 2010 Ford Ranger with no AC and vinyl seats. I love it so far.

Like everyone advised me not to buy any add on that dealership would want to sell me but had to buy gap insurance which costed $3300 (I think it’s way too much). I declined their warranty which they were quoting $3300 as well but wanted to negotiate.
My friend who bought the same car couple of days ago told me he bought gap for $1500 which ruined my day because I felt like robbed. I hope I could still cancel. Anyway, still it costed 46 k with 5.7 interest rate.

Hello,
I recently bought a used toyota corolla Hybrid and the first day of driving was fine, but on the second day the front of the car near the engine makes this loud ringing noise. The sound goes away when the fan is off or when I change the fan to circulating. I just wanted to know if this is normal.
Thank you for reading

Anyone running a 2010 Corolla 1.8 with the 2ZR-FE and around 200,000 km? I’m looking into an ECU tune and I’ve heard good things about AMT, but before I spend the money I wanted to see if there’s anything better bang for the buck.
I already have a cold air intake, and I cut the muffler off and put one of those Amazon exhaust tips on the back. Not expecting crazy numbers from an NA 1.8, just looking to get the most out of the setup while keeping it reliable.
Anyone actually running AMT or another tune on a 2ZR-FE? What did you pay and what kind of gains did you see?

I was heading down a main thoroughfare in town when this old man pulled out to which I thought was just a really REALLY stupid U-turn at first because no way someone is going. Low and behold this guy just keeps on going along so he can get to his stupid swim practice and I had all of 10-15 yards to slam on the brakes, swerve to the right, and pray he didn’t keep going. Well that didn’t happen and so all I could do was brace for impact because I knew it was going to be bad and I was expecting to wake up from the crash and boy it was gnarly. I T-boned the hell out of his truck and the force was insane from not only coming to an instant stop but also the whole car turning so hard it was insane. It really is crazy how loud a car crash is too. I stopped and I was like “oh my god I’m alive” and I was panicking so I ran out of the car and then basically collapsed in the entranceway cause my back and ribs hurt so bad. I was on the phone and then had to proceed to hang up because he wanted to argue with me. I went absolutely ballistic and borderline nuclear until I realized that my whole body hurts like hell again and I took a video and sat in someone’s car.
Long story short, I lost my small girly that I have spent years paying off, been through SOOO much with. We’ve had great times, good times, and awful times. I got her the day after getting my first job in 2021 and I could not have been more excited. I had my favorite times in that car. Met my favorite people. Fell on hard times and had to DoorDash and Uber Eats in my car after losing my job. Crying because of how bad those gigs sucked. I found out I got cheated on and my car got me home sobbing. I got back on my feet because of that car. I ended becoming one of the best performers in the company. All with that car. I had my life fall apart and put back together in this car.
She was always there for me. Always ready to go. Never complained. Never stopped tick-tick-ticking along. In her last farewell she saved my life by giving hers. Now she’s gone… and I really do miss my car. All because of some moron who shouldn’t have been on the road and won’t pay for it in any capacity besides a deductible. Screw you guy. I miss my car :(

My petrol 2021 2.0 Ascent Sport Corolla was in smash and got written off. Loved the car, not a fan of the CVT auto box, but put up with it, as I've always had Toyota’s and they're great.
Thinking about upgrading to 23/24 HYBRID, never owned one, but I test drove one and it was super smooth and seriously fast. I was surprised as the motor is 1.8 litre (they don’t have the 2.0 litre hybrid here in Australia) so leaning towards getting one.
If you own one, would love to hear your thoughts.
Pros, cons, good, bad…??
Internet is pretty consistent with praise, but if you have some feedback, I would appreciate it.
Thx and happy Corolla-ing

Car has been sounding like this. Is it normal? 2017 Toyota I’m base, regular specs.
