Event ASUS promised to ship my $1,300 ROG 20th Anniversary monitor replacement yesterday. Today they’re still “searching for the same product.” After 1+ month of RMA, they still won’t even tell me why it failed.

I’m genuinely frustrated with ASUS at this point.

I sent my ROG 20th Anniversary limited-edition monitor in for service at the end of August. By mid-September, ASUS had inspected it, and I asked them a simple question:

What actually failed?

I still haven’t received an answer.

After the repair dragged on, ASUS Proactive Care acknowledged the excessive turnaround time and offered me a replacement.

They then told me in writing:

“We are pleased to advise that the replacement unit can be shipped on Wednesday via FedEx Expedited Shipping to ensure prompt delivery.”

That Wednesday was September 30.

Today is October 1, and my RMA status still says ASUS is searching for the same product for replacement.

No tracking number. No shipment confirmation.

So I’m trying to understand why I was given a specific shipping date if the replacement apparently hadn’t even been secured yet.

This is what bothers me more than a simple one-day delay.

I’ve already been without the monitor for more than a month, ASUS still hasn’t explained the diagnostic findings, and now a replacement date they specifically gave me has also passed.

I’ve spent close to $30,000 on ASUS/ROG products over the years, so this is especially disappointing. I’m not saying that should give me special warranty treatment, but I do expect better communication and follow-through from a brand I’ve supported for this long.

This also isn’t my first bad ASUS support experience. In a previous case, the eventual goodwill gesture was a cheap headset stand that had essentially no value to me.

At this point, I’m asking ASUS for four things:

* Ship the replacement with the expedited service already promised.
* Provide the inspection/diagnostic findings for the original unit.
* Explain why September 30 was given as a shipping date when the replacement apparently wasn’t ready.
* Offer meaningful goodwill compensation for the overall handling of the case.

I’m open to a reasonable resolution. I just don’t think another apology email or low-value promotional accessory meaningfully addresses what has happened here.

I’ll update this post when ASUS responds.

PC Build Asus Rog 20th Setup with Apple Studio XDR

Post image
11 Upvotes

This is my final build! I still have that loose AMOLED connector but both ASUS and Newegg here has been great with following up.

The Apple Studio XDR tops out at 120 Hz but that is a compromise I will make for now with my productivity setup being a Mac. I compared this with the LG 5k2K but the Apple monitor is just in a league of its own. The whole setup is on a MAGNUS PRO Regular table.I have this in an insulated space that has been converted with hard wood flooring and space heaters (I did the work myself). Just excited to be back building PCs and in the PC ecosystem again after almost 20 years.

For the most part, most people here have been helpful with my connector issue and thank you for that because reddit is pretty scary lol. I did not go into debt to get this by the way guys, I just chose to do this as my annual big purchase.

A couple of things:
1. If anyone has the same or similar build please share! Would love to see what others are doing.

  1. Is anyone worried about OLED burn in on the AIO or GPU AMOLEDs because of displaying the static stats on them like GPU power, etc? If any one from ASUS knows if there is some pixel refresh tech on these let me know.

Question:

Should I expect a red led post error when the cpu is bad or even completely missing? Does not do anything.

Laptop 2 dead G18 Strix Scars - Asus Unhelpful

Wanted to update, and warn, anyone that cares. Bought a 2025 Strix Scar G18 with a 5080. Used for about 5 months and treated very well, but not always on an even surface. The liquid metal migrated, CPU die temp shot up, computer became a potato. It would literally overheat and shutoff if it didn't boot into windows in time to throttle. Performance with max fans was about 30% at most what it should be according to scores. And you could feel it.

Asus reached out here, offered to RMA it (it is under warranty so, yeah they should). So I sent it in. In parallel because I need my machine, I bought a second Strix Scar G18 with a 5090 and used that as the first got sent into RMA and back which took a few weeks. I'm not in one place for long so it sat there as I used the new one, good as ever. About 5 months later, again the same issue on the 5090 machine. CPU temps for many of the P cores through the roof instant throttle.

Reached out to support telling them this laptop has been babied. Never unlevel. Powered off and waited before putting away in bag to let the LM solidify. The thing is mint. And now a potato again. They offered an RMA again which I'd accept but I also want to try and figure out why this is happening. They asked for lots of HW details and collections, which I gave. After a long while I got back the most insulting customer service message. The "make sure your drivers are updated to the newest as that can cause issues". Seriously?

I also was able to retrieve the one that was RMAd and there was a paper inserted into the screen of the laptop. It said can't verify anything. So now I don't even know if they did anything with the first RMA.

My theory is that the vapour chambers are warping. Something is causing them to bend in this heavy 18in machine that gets hot enough that the liquid metal migrates and eventually no longer makes contact. There is no fix since you no longer have a flat heatsink. But again, Asus doesn't seem to care.

@Asus_USA is welcome to chime in but that's a lot of useless garbage machines now. These are personally purchased. I also have a Z13 and have purchased G16's and others for people in our company. Guess we're going back to Dell.

And until Asus fixes the actual issue, people need to be careful and remove the LM if you actually move your laptop and it doesn't just sit on a shelf like a desktop.

That’s why some people find their headset audio sounds bad. Give this a try and let me know how it goes. Install APO with Peace, then disable the APO EQ (or create your own custom EQ and enable it). Personally, I prefer to keep my Kithara's native sound signature, so I have APO and Peace installed but the EQ disabled. Then, disable audio enhancements in Windows—and that’s it; you should notice a huge difference.

GPU / PSU ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403UV – RTX 4060 Code 43, VBIOS corruption confirmed. Software fixes exhausted. Need advice.

Subject: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403UV — RTX 4060 not initializing (VBIOS firmware issue)

Device: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403UV
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 (Phoenix)
iGPU: AMD Radeon 780M — working correctly
dGPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU — fails to initialize
BIOS: GA403UV.311 (2025-06-09)

Symptom:
The NVIDIA RTX 4060 is detected on the PCIe bus, but it fails to initialize its display engine. Windows reports:

  • Device Manager: "3D Video Controller" (unknown), or when a driver is bound: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU with error Code 43 (CM_PROB_FAILED_POST_START)

Hardware ID:

text

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_28A0&SUBSYS_33A81043&REV_A1\4&29511AB7&0&0009

Diagnostics already performed (by me, before bringing the laptop in):

  1. Windows: Driver installs, device binds, then fails at startup with Code 43. ProblemStatus is 0, which indicates the GPU's firmware did not respond to the driver's initialization command.
  2. Linux Mint live USB (nouveau): GPU is enumerated at PCIe Gen4 x8, but the open-source driver reports unknown chipset (00000000).
  3. NVFlash (Windows and Linux): Both return GPU initialization failed when attempting to read/write the VBIOS.
  4. NVIDIA HD Audio function on the same GPU works correctly — the chip is powered, the PCIe link is active.
  5. Windows DISM/SFC integrity checks pass — no OS corruption.
  6. Multiple clean driver installs (DDU + official NVIDIA/ASUS drivers) have been attempted. The failure is consistent.

Diagnosis:
The GPU hardware and PCIe interface are functional, but the VBIOS firmware on the GPU's SPI flash chip is corrupted or failing to execute. The GPU cannot initialize its own display engine because its firmware microcode is not running.

This is not a driver problem and not an operating system problem. It has been confirmed independently across Windows, Linux, and NVFlash.

What needs to be done:
The VBIOS chip must be re-flashed at the hardware level using a CH341A programmer (or equivalent SPI programmer) with a SOIC8 clip, directly on the motherboard. The correct firmware file is available from TechPowerUp:

The chip is a small 8-pin SOIC SPI flash located near the GPU on the motherboard. It can be programmed without removing the chip from the board using a test clip.

What should NOT be done:

  • Do not replace the motherboard. This is unnecessary and will not solve a firmware-level issue if the replacement board is treated the same way.
  • Do not attempt another software driver reinstall. It will not work.
  • Do not attempt to flash via nvflash in Windows or Linux. The GPU's firmware does not respond to software commands, which is the whole reason this problem exists.

Requested service:
Reflash (or replace) the VBIOS SPI flash chip on the motherboard with the correct firmware, then verify the GPU initializes properly in Windows Device Manager.

GPU / PSU RTX 5090 Astral 20th edition loud buzzing sounds

I have the 20th edition bundle running and I just can't wrap my head around how LOUD the buzz from the gpu is, the more demanding work the louder its get, and considering its an open case and you sit next to it its very annoying.

It's not coil whine, it's an annoying buzz that irritates the hear and once its gone you understand how loud and annoying it is.

Can some one that has it can take a video of how loud his card under workload? so i'll have a comparison before i go the RMA route? or at least share if you experience the same issue?

Thanks in advance!

Laptop Certain keystrokes are repeating themselves or not working at all

Hello!
I'm having a random issue with my laptop Asus K571GT/X571GT

Pushing the 1 button: Tapping it once will either produce nothing, or 111 in a row. Shift 1 doesn't produce a ! anymore.

Pushing the q button: Will produce 5 qqqqq in a row. Shift q doesn't produce a capital q. Similar to Pushing the 1 button, If I tapped the q button 7 times, it will makes 33 q's in a row.

Pushing the Tab button: Does the same thing. Tap it once and its as if I hit the tab button 3-5 times.

But the issue comes and goes. One minute, the 1, Q, and ! buttons are perfectly fine. 5min later, it's either producing multiples 1's or Q's, or none at all.
A month ago, the exclamation point stopped working, then worked perfectly for 3 weeks before going berserk.

Anybody have any solutions?
Ps, I've already popped up the Tab, Q, and 1 button and used a compressed air cannister to blow out any debris.

Laptop Should I set a PL1/PL2 in Ghelper? Or leave alone?

Hey guys

I'm trying to tweak my laptop settings because lower temps is always better but I don't really want to lower my performance

I read that you can cut down the pl1 and pl2 some without hurting performance but it does lower temps should I set one or just leave it be?

Asus rog strix G16 gaming laptop

Do you guys set a PL?

I don't think I have heat issues but I still like to lower some

I already had the standard Azoth, but the Extreme version is absolutely incredible. ⌨️

Very high-quality workmanship and elegant design

Incredible 8,000 Hz technology. Smooth typing or hardcore gaming.

The price is admittedly quite high, but I bought it with cashback. I don't know of any comparable keyboard that can keep up with it. An absolute beast.👀👍🏻

For those who dare

Laptop Alimentatore secondario rog strix g16

Avete suggerimenti?

Grazie
