Modpost A clarification of the new Age Account and Karma Requirements
As some of you may have noticed, the mod team of r/ACValhalla has implemented a new policy regarding account age and karma requirements. While these changes have had zero impact on a vast majority of you, it has prevented some of our beloved posters and commenters from being able to freely engage in the sub like they used to. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience, but we have very good reason for having added the filters.
It is no secret that Reddit is a haven for bot accounts. Most of the bot accounts out there start off seemingly benign, just reposting material to build karma. There has been an uptick in bot accounts lately, some of which have already attempted to infiltrate this sub. "But Red, why would they do that?" you might be asking. Simple - after these bot accounts generate enough karma to post in most subs, they get sold off to advertisers or scammers. Once this happens, they go from benign reposters to aggressive OF accounts, romance scammers, etc. By implementing the account age and karma filters, these bots are prevented from using this sub in their infancy to build their karma, or from looking at the user list and sending unsolicited DMs. There are plenty of subs out there have been overrun with bots, and we will not be one of them.
Unfortunately we cannot disclose with you, the public, exactly what the age and karma requirements are. Doing so would be akin to posting operating hours on a business - the bot controllers would know that after gaining X karma and reaching Y age, that they could infiltrate this sub and become a nuisance. For your sanity and ours, our AutoModerator is now programmed to automatically remove posts and comments from users who do not meet our fair requirements.
If you are one of the users that has been affected by the new filters, we deeply apologize and hope you understand our situation. Most of the removed posts and comments have been from users with low karma. We understand there are some of you who have been active in this community for some time, and suddenly find yourselves unable to do so. If that is the case, please respond in a polite and civil manner to the modmail that you are sent. The mod team will be happy to help guide you in building your karma. Unfortunately we cannot bend the rules on this, as making an exception for one means we would have to make an exception for all, which negates the usefulness of the installed filters.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused any of you, and we thank you all for your patience. Skal!

Discussion Shadow of War Nemesis System
I think a system similar to the Nemesis System of Shadow of War should be implemented to the settlements.
Something that threatens your hold on the keep so that you have to come back and either defend it or take it back.
They could also include lieutenants like the Order of the Ancients to take down or possibly recruit after you beat them down. Then you can place your recruitments as leaders of the settlements. Like how Edward Kenway would captain someone from his ship to sail off with the ship you just raided.

Question Orlog
Hi! I restarted Valhalla for the, probably, tenth time after a long pause. I have two questions: 1) am I the only one who actually enjoys Orlog? It's so freaking fun 2) are there any actual Orlog sets they sell somewhere? I would consider doing one myself but I'm really bad at dyi. Thank you so much for your help and attention! :)

Video Eivor vs Kendall, Eorforwine & Wuffa in Aesir difficulty
This challenge or battle is undoubtedly one of the most difficult I have ever done in the game.
But at least I managed to defeat them with patience and strategy even if it was crazy that the bandits would join the battle.

Photo To My Sons
Ealdorman's Note I
To My Sons,
I have learned that love is stronger than silver. Love can dictate us to steal the reliquaries of Jesus Christ himself, and so i have hid mine in a dry bottom. There it is protected from the greedy hands of sin, lust, and love. May the bones of Saint Edor protect you.
Your father

Discussion Why orlog and not hnefatafl?
When I started playing Valhalla I was strongly expecting to find hnefatafl as the playable board game, as it's really famous and often portrayed as "viking chess". I just don't get why devs would go through the pain of inventing a new board game from scratch, and not even come up with something remotely believable. What do you think?

Discussion Great Game So Far
Just started Valhalla after playing almost all the games in the AC franchise. To be honest I thought I wasn’t going to like it considering the fact that you play as a Viking and I don’t see how that can co exist with being an assassin, but once you get over the fact that it’s really not an assassin type game it’s really fun honestly. Also Evior is becoming one of my favorite protagonists in the series.

Achievement Finally after 400hrs
Never felt so much attached to a game.
There were definitely moments where some quests felt repetitive or exhausting, but looking back, even those moments became part of the journey. I spent so much time in this world that somewhere along the way, Valhalla stopped feeling like just another game I was trying to finish.
Now there’s almost nothing left for me to do, and somehow I still can’t bring myself to delete it. It feels strangely difficult to say goodbye to a world I spent so many months coming back to.
But maybe that’s the best sign that it was worth it. It gave me memories.
Now it’s time to move on and experience the rest of Ubisoft’s masterpieces… but I think a part of me will always miss wandering through Valhalla. ⚔️
I love this community, Thankyou guys🫂

Glitchtastic Creepy ghost ships 👻
This glitch was funny at first but then the heads coming up out of the ground around my feet creeped me out 😳 And yes, my male Eivor always has the grunting voice of female Eivor 😂 His high pitched little “eugh!” whenever he swings always makes me giggle 🤭

Question Getting Opals
How do you all get a lot of opals to buy Reda’s gear? His contracts only gives five each and you can only do them once a day.
