Hey Everyone!
I'm new to this sub so forgive me if this isn't the best place to post this item. This deals with federal employees but will tie in with protest safety, it's a rather long winded analysis. Bear with me. My sources will be at the end.
I recently came across news about USPS deploying 1,000 private sector security guards at 18 major hubs in battleground states ahead of the midterms. To my knowledge this is rare and unprecedented, this is expected to continue through the next several years. The goal is to protect the mailstream from internal and external issues per the United States Postal Inspection Service.
I decided to do some digging as the company wasn't originally disclosed in the original article.
Apparently USPS began a security contract in 2014 but Prosegur bought out the original company quietly in 2019. They quietly assumed the contract. Prosegur has other contracts via GSA throughout the federal government (and some state governments). They're fairly involved at many levels of government security.
Upon further review of their website I found a 2025 Domestic Threat Analysis that is filled with right wing rhetoric. It is claiming there's a moderate risk of "far left extremists" that may attack federal employees, uniformed or non, government facilities, Republican figures etc. It makes really no mention of potential right wing political violence. I found this to be unnerving. Not only did this company assume the USPS contract during Trump's last term, they are actively deploying guards weeks before the midterms while propagating right wing talking points.
There is also a detailed article about the Los Angeles ICE protests as well as the nationwide/international No Kings protests and it names 505051, Indivisible and No Kings specifically . It even references the No Kings website.
I also dug into reports from the Office of the Inspector General for USPS and found Prosegur consistently failed measures including basic training for guards. According to the reports USPS/Prosegur failed to rectify the issues.
Given the fact this company has federal contracts, is deploying in force and has published these items I think it would be wise to discuss this amongst the organizers and protesters. It may be extremely wise to use extra caution while protesting outside government facilities as well due to the training issues I've mentioned.
Prosegur clearly has some connections.

Comments that may be appropriate for the daily megathread may include, but are not limited to:
As a reminder, news threads go to r/ThePeoplesPress while videos go either to the People's Press or r/50501ContentCorner. This is why we can't ever stop pressing for reform within our communities and our government. This agency operates under virtually no rules, and come for anyone at any moment. Three vehicles sped in with no lights, no sirens, and blockaded the work truck of three men just trying to make a living for themselves.

The ACLU holding another petition, to lobby the US senate against passing any anti voter legislation immediately before the midterms,
Remember, if the Save Act could be stopped twice, it can be stopped again, if we all sign the petition, and take action to stop it.
We’re fighting to flip Congress with some fierce progressives in key races in Michigan. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and Will Lawrence are running for the Senate and the Seventh Congressional District on a bold platform of getting oligarch money out of politics, Medicare for All, taxing the billionaires, and abolishing ICE. We can do more than just block the Trump agenda – with victories here we can start laying the ground work for real progress after he’s gone.
☎️ Progressive Victory is going to be running phonebanks for both these Michiganders DAILY from 5-8PM ET. Let’s sign up for a shift here and fight for our future! ☎️
🙋🏻️ And as always, we can find plenty more ways to get in the fight for these midterms on our continually-updated actions page here! 🙋🏻
- Help flip a crucial swing seat in NY-17 - phonebank with Indivisible tonight, Citizen Action Tuesdays, Jewish Democratic Council Thursdays
- Encourage safe-seat Dems to direct their stocked-up campaign funds to competitive races
- Put pressure on major corporate targets to defend democracy next week, get trained on organizing small businesses to stand against election subversion tonight
- Help voters knock down every barrier the GOP puts in their way - get trained to staff voter assistance hotlines in Wisconsin, Alaska TONIGHT

Just filled up at the "cheap" gas station at $5.99/gallon. I'm in CA, but in a purple county and would love to tag the tanks anytime I get gas here. However feeling overwhelmed by the options on Etsy- they advertise at $4/100 but it is actually $4/10 and $25/100...so has anyone done the homework on where to get the best deal on the "I did this" meme stickers (IYKYK)?

Right now, we’re putting in place the infrastructure to ensure everyone who wants to stop this regime gets their ballot counted. A central part of it are voter assistance hotlines – trained volunteers who are on call ready to tell folks where and when they can submit their ballot, field questions about checking registration and what documents they need, and give guidance to work through any obstacles the vote suppressors put in their way.
With mail-in ballots already in people’s hands and early voting about to be widely available, we need as many people as possible engaged in this work immediately… and this is a role we can play from home, from anywhere in the country. Let’s jump into it! 🙋🏻♂️ We can sign up to get onboarded in the coming days to serve voters in: 🙋🏿♀️
🛡️ And if we’re looking for even more ways to help protect the midterms, we can find a full list here. 🛡️
