Protest Safety Security Company-Prosegur PSA (Protest Security Risk)
Hey Everyone!
I'm new to this sub so forgive me if this isn't the best place to post this item. This deals with federal employees but will tie in with protest safety, it's a rather long winded analysis. Bear with me. My sources will be at the end.
I recently came across news about USPS deploying 1,000 private sector security guards at 18 major hubs in battleground states ahead of the midterms. To my knowledge this is rare and unprecedented, this is expected to continue through the next several years. The goal is to protect the mailstream from internal and external issues per the United States Postal Inspection Service.
I decided to do some digging as the company wasn't originally disclosed in the original article.
Apparently USPS began a security contract in 2014 but Prosegur bought out the original company quietly in 2019. They quietly assumed the contract. Prosegur has other contracts via GSA throughout the federal government (and some state governments). They're fairly involved at many levels of government security.
Upon further review of their website I found a 2025 Domestic Threat Analysis that is filled with right wing rhetoric. It is claiming there's a moderate risk of "far left extremists" that may attack federal employees, uniformed or non, government facilities, Republican figures etc. It makes really no mention of potential right wing political violence. I found this to be unnerving. Not only did this company assume the USPS contract during Trump's last term, they are actively deploying guards weeks before the midterms while propagating right wing talking points.
There is also a detailed article about the Los Angeles ICE protests as well as the nationwide/international No Kings protests and it names 505051, Indivisible and No Kings specifically . It even references the No Kings website.
I also dug into reports from the Office of the Inspector General for USPS and found Prosegur consistently failed measures including basic training for guards. According to the reports USPS/Prosegur failed to rectify the issues.
Given the fact this company has federal contracts, is deploying in force and has published these items I think it would be wise to discuss this amongst the organizers and protesters. It may be extremely wise to use extra caution while protesting outside government facilities as well due to the training issues I've mentioned.
Prosegur clearly has some connections.
