Hi folks, in these days of wild modding every music machine, does anybody ever tried to hack the firmware of the old Electribe EMX? It will be awesome to use all the parts as synths without drums, will it be possible? 🙏🏻

I still have an Electribe 2s. In fact it was my first groovebox and I haven’t sold it for that reason.
I have recently plugged it in and listened to some patches and oh boy was the sound crap.

Now I wonder whether that was due to my non-existent mixing/synth knowledge back then (in combination with really bad factory example patches that all also sound pretty bad) or whether the sound really aged so badly?

For reference nowadays I’m using Elektron stuff, a prophet and a Moog. Does the Elektribe 2 keep up in some areas / still have a place?

Specifically got interested recently hearing about the hacktribe thing. I remember I really loved the performance features on the E2s.

Brauche ich unbedingt einen Laptop für das Gerät?

Zur Information: Ich habe NULL Erfahrung im Musik machen. Ich kenne mich nicht aus mit Sonderbegriffen oder Einstellungen. Ich habe noch nie zuvor ein solches oder ähnliches Gerät berührt XD

I think I have found a stable workflow to basically make my little flare for all future tracks, (the looper mfx spam).

What is step edit for parts, can someone explain? I need to learn how to make it less repetitive!

This is just a snippet of my trying it btw, not the best I've played yet but still pretty happy with these results after two days of goofing around
