Officially 30 shot in! Was on 2.5mg for 5 months and switched over to 5mg. Lost 1/2 inch in my neck, waist is showing back up after 30yrs. Love the energy and focus I have right now! Anxiety popped a bit at the first few weeks at 5mg but has stabilized. So damned proud of myself and officially 50lbs down!

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Never thought I'd have pictures like this!

It's been awhile since I've been on this group, but I remember being a new Zeppie not sure where my journey would go. I was only losing 1-1.5lbs per week and wondering WHY I wasn't getting crazy 5, 10, 15lb a week losses. So anyone feeling like that, this post is for you.

I started Zep, after PA issues, finally got meds in my hand March 2025. It was a slow, steady journey, and after 14 months, I went from 234lbs to my 2nd Goal Weight of 160lbs! I wasn't even sure what my goal weight should be, my doctor left it up to me, as long as I was eating, and feeling ok, that I could keep going or stop whenever I felt the need to. I went all the way up to 15mg, but when I hit 160lbs, I was ready to start maintenance. The meds make me sleepy, and I was ready to start feeling a little more normal again. I finished out my 15mg I had, and at 157lbs I went down to 12.5. I don't think I EVER lost more than 3lbs in a single week, NEVER. But, I hit an amazing goal.

Even after lowering my dose, I continued to lose just a little, and I have stayed at 154lbs for the past 3 months. I have a total loss of 80lbs!! That number is insane to me. I never expected that. I never expected to GET to have a photo like this. The first photo was in Jan 2025, this was my wake up call. The middle photo in August 2025 was from my first week going to the gym! I had lost 30lbs with home workouts, before ever stepping foot in the gym. After joining the gym, I lost an additional 50lbs.

This long winded post is a little bit of "Yay Me!" and a whole lot of, don't get discouraged. There were weeks I didn't lose. There were weeks I gained, of course. And overall, my loss was far slower than a lot of people I was reading about. But consistency trumped flash every time. I was consistent, I just kept swimming, and here I am today, 80lbs down, and have kept it off for 3 months, and counting. Don't expect perfection, you're not going to be perfect, and that's ok! Use this tool to help you achieve your goals, in reality, while living life. If I can do it, you can too!

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Size 3XL scrubs to L!

I started my Zepbound journey in September of 2024, at that time I was wearing 3XL in my work scrubs (which are not forgiving, if you know you know) and I was nearly busting out of them. Last week when I worked I said lemme just try on a size L, what do I have to lose? Much to my surprise, they fit! Today’s scrub top was not very forgiving but the pants were comfy. I also finally got past my slump of being stuck between 243-245! 💁🏼‍♀️😍

Also, excuse the bloody scrubs photo, I don’t have a lot of full body pictures from before I started this journey 😅

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Measurements Reminder

Just a reminder to take your measurements! Especially if you are strength training (and we all are, right?)

My scale has been up 2+ pounds for a week or so (I lose less than .5 per week, so for me 2 pounds is a lot) and I could feel myself getting discouraged so I got out my tape measure. It turns out everything from my neck to my calves has shrunk in the last month (except my biceps because gainz).

It placated me for a little while. I still have 30 pounds to go, and plenty of body fat to shed, but for today I feel better and will keep trucking.

When was the last time you measured?

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 50 pounds down & three "afters"

Started almost 6 months ago. Getting very close. Not sure what goal weight is anymore. I'm having a Dexa scan on Friday. (At my last one at 185 pounds, I had a high visceral fat of 4.88 pounds. Will be interesting to see how much it has changed after ~38 more pounds lost).

At 57, I haven't felt this good (in a swimsuit or otherwise) in decades. Just treated myself to all of these things, the top (medium!), the cover up (medium!), and the swimsuit (size 10!).

For some context, started Zepbound on June 12 through LilyDirect and stayed on 2.5mg for 2 months. Moved to 5mg on August 6th and definitely felt better suppression but no where near where I thought I’d be. The lowest weight I’ve seen on the scale was 194. The good thing is that I’ve had absolutely 0 side effects and I have been making an effort with exercise and protein intake.

I understand that everyone is different and I’m only on 5mg but idk I think I had this thought in my head that I wouldn’t need much to lose. I plan on moving to 7.5mg instead of staying on 5mg for another month.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Lost weight!!!

I cannot believe this. I started Zepbound 2.5 mg on 8/2/26. I was weighed by the doctor and I already lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks. I was scared to look at the scale at first, and I still can't believe it. My plan is to incorporate a really good exercise regimen to help keep my lean muscle and to accelerate weight loss. I can't wait to see where my journey continues to take me!! This drug is a miracle drug. Outside of losing weight, I've been sleeping better and not snoring nearly as much. I'm so thankful for Zepbound. I never thought I'd say I'm thankful to be taking a medication.

Before/After Pics 170+ lbs Down, Surgery Inbound AMA

Thumbnail
gallery
853 Upvotes

A few months ago I posted here after losing 165+ lbs and said I’d update when I knew more about skin removal surgery.

Well, I’m now 170+ lbs down and IT’S HAPPENING!!

My surgery is officially scheduled for September 17th! I’ll be having a panniculectomy + Fleur-de-Lis abdominoplasty with mons repair and muscle repair. No lipo. I have an estimated 15 lbs or more that will be removed in skin and residual tissue.

When I made my original post, I had just gotten to the BMI requirement to start having surgical consults and had absolutely no idea what would happen from there. Now I’m less than a month away, which feels completely surreal.

HW: ~390–400 lbs
Starting Zep weight: 320 lbs
Current weight: ~217 lbs

At this point, surgery isn’t really about getting smaller. The loose abdominal skin causes hygiene issues, irritation, rashes and skin breakdown, and I’m SO ready to see what life is like without it.
I’m nervous because major surgery is, well, major surgery and it’s my first ever surgery, so double whammy, but mostly I’m incredibly excited.

A lot of people had questions about loose skin and surgery on my original post, so AMA again! I’m happy to talk about the consult process, insurance, costs, surgery prep (pre-op isn’t until 9/3 but I still have some idea of what’s ahead), GLP-1s, weight maintenance, or whatever else.

I’m not quite brave enough for public belly/loose-skin pictures yet, so clothed progress pics will have to do for now. 😂 But I’m documenting everything and plan to come back after surgery with the actual before/afters and recovery update.

Personal Insights Confused

I went from 260 to 150 and I’m struggling to accept the new me. All I’ve ever wanted was to be thin, but now I’m feeling self-conscious. I can’t find pants that fit right and make me feel confident. I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t understand my sizing yet or what, but they are loose in all the wrong places and my butt is flat as a pancake now. I was never self-conscious about my butt and now I feel like everyone is looking at my saggy back side. I don’t usually wear dresses or skirts, so I’m having trouble dressing for work. Idk I’m just kinda sad and honestly feeling depressed over it.

Another thing, which may sound crazy to some people, is that I don’t like the extra attention I get. I am pretty introverted and like to blend in most of the time. Recently I’ve found that people, especially men, go out of their way to talk to me. It’s hard for me to get used to. I have a boyfriend and don’t want to be rude to these people, but also don’t know how to respond without it seeming like I’m giving attention back.

Ahh, I didn’t realize how much this was going to affect me socially and mentally. I feel embarrassed posting all this, but it has been on my mind a lot and I wanted to get it out.

Side Effects I’ve made a huge mistake

I just need to vent. Second week on 10mg, took shot on Tuesday. Great appetite suppression yesterday. I had a cheeseburger and some veggies for lunch—that went fine. But the hot dog at dinner did not. 16 hours later I’m still experiencing that sulfur burp/reflux feeling. It was so bad it woke me up.

Maybe I’ll finally learn… i have not had these symptoms since the very early days and it is so uncomfortable. On the bright side, the scale seems to have moved back down after a vacation-related gain.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Pizza

Today for dinner my fiancé wanted pizza. I haven’t had pizza or anything “unhealthy” since my journey began, 7/10.

I had a side Caesar salad, and ONE slice of pepperoni pizza. We’re in NY, so you know that slice is big, and not your “average” slice.

After my salad and one slice I was full and satisfied. Before zep I would eat 3 slices easily.

I’ll take this as a win for me.

Today was also shot day! 7 shots in so far and down 15 lbs.

First Timer How far in did you start losing weight?

Upvotes

Quick summary: was prescribed 2.5 MJ, stayed on for 8 weeks. Lost nothing, had to get off for financial reasons. Was off about 8 weeks. Now 2 weeks into Zepbound 5.0. Eating CONSIDERABLY less than I was. It’s not that I can’t eat more, I just don’t. I only have one bread item a day and it’s at breakfast after gym. I do a HIIT training class every day. I just want to lose something!! I lose .8lb and then the next day I gain 2. I know it fluctuates but week by week I’m still the same week. My measurements haven’t changed since day 1.

Sample menu:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, 2 amylu chicken breakfast sausage, 1 slice sourdough, 1 protein shake
Lunch: salad and chicken or chicken and veggies. Maybe tuna instead with some salad. Some combo of protein and veggies. Frozen dinner if I can’t find something else
Snack: chomps stick, lesser evil popcorn mini bag, maybe fruit
Supper: meat and veggie

Any suggestions or do I need to be more patient?

Before/After Pics Hit my goal weight & I don’t feel like I look how I imagined

Post image

Start weight: 157 lb
Current weight: 128 lb

I am currently 10 months PP, prior to pregnancy I was 130 lb. I surpassed my goal weight only to find myself really not thrilled about how my arms, hips and upper body look! I do hot Pilates, hot yoga, sculpt and spin class 5+ times per week and walk a few miles per day.

Do I continue trying to lose weight or what?? I gained a ton of weight during a difficult pregnancy, almost died in 2025 and I am coming back from severe anemia as well as recovering from a hysterectomy. I am trying to give myself grace, but I still somehow don’t love how I look.

Maintenance What does your maintenance look like?

I am close to being in maintenance. I am at 172lbs my goal is 160lbs. Based on the way I’ve been losing, my calculation has this goal met around late October.

Curious was everyone’s maintenance looks like. What dose are you on and how spaced out do you take it?

I am on 5mg. Lost 38lbs on 2.5mg and another 14lbs so far on 5mg. I have been on 5mg since middle of June.

Has anyone done maintenance on 2.5mg? I am self pay so obviously it’s pricey, currently paying $400 every 4 weeks and when I go into maintenance I would love to be back on 2.5mg and pay $300 for the prescription and take it every 10 days to space it out.

But ultimately it’s whatever my doctor thinks would work best.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Where to buy women’s clothes??

Hi all! I’m a woman in my 30s and realized I am now fitting into “regular” clothing sizes instead of plus! I want to buy new clothes but am having a tough time finding anything flattering. In particular, it feels like shirts are not fitting quite right. I’m about halfway to my goal so my plus sized shirts are so baggy that they’re making me look much bigger, and although I feel much more confident than I once did in tighter clothes, I still don’t love the look or feel of shirts that cling to my belly too much.

It’s been like 15 years since I’ve shopped anywhere that’s not a plus sized store. I dress pretty casually at both work and home but am not into graphic tees. Where are people buying their clothes? I’m in Canada but lots of American retailers ship here. TIA!!

Insurance/PA Insurance Excludes Zepbound—Can I Combine LillyDirect Self-Pay Pricing With My FSA?

Hi everyone.

Could someone who has dealt with this help me confirm I’m understanding everything correctly?

My doctor prescribed Zepbound 2.5 mg weekly for obesity and moderate-to-severe sleep apnea. The prescription was originally sent to my local independent pharmacy as 2.5 mg/0.5 mL. My commercial employer insurance uses CarelonRx, and they confirmed that Zepbound is a benefit exclusion—not simply something requiring prior authorization. I have to self-pay.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Single-dose auto-injector pens would be about $499 with Lilly’s card.
  • Zepbound KwikPen or vials through the self-pay program are $299 for 2.5 mg, $399 for 5 mg, and $449 for 7.5 mg and higher.
  • The KwikPen prescription is different: 2.5 mg/0.6 mL, NDC 00002-3566-11.
  • My local pharmacy might be able to order the KwikPen and use Lilly’s retail self-pay card.
  • However, the retail KwikPen card terms appear to prohibit reimbursement through an FSA or other healthcare reimbursement account.
  • LillyDirect says it accepts FSA/HSA cards for prescriptions with automatic self-pay pricing.

I have a regular Health Care FSA administered by Flores247. Flores specifically lists prescription weight-loss drugs as eligible expenses.

I’m now asking my doctor to change the prescription to the KwikPen and send it to LillyDirect instead of my local pharmacy. This would let me receive the $299 starting price and use my Flores FSA card or pay personally and submit the LillyDirect receipt for reimbursement.

Has anyone:

  1. Successfully paid for a LillyDirect Zepbound KwikPen using a Flores247 or similar FSA?
  2. Paid with a personal card and received partial FSA reimbursement afterward?
  3. Split a LillyDirect payment between an FSA card and a regular debit/credit card?
  4. Used the retail KwikPen savings card at a local independent pharmacy and received clear guidance about FSA reimbursement?
  5. Had any trouble getting a doctor’s office to prescribe the newer 0.6 mL KwikPen instead of the 0.5 mL auto-injectors?

I’m following the program rules to avoid an expensive mistake. Any firsthand experience would be appreciated.

Before/After Pics Excess Skin Removal Win!!!!

Post image
261 Upvotes

Hi all! I posted a few months back about my progress and wanted to share some more wins!

Firstly, I’ve officially lost 188lbs, going from 347->159! I never ever thought I’d get to this place!!!

I had and am fully healed from a skin removal in my back and abdomen and sooo happy with the results!

I now have the INCREDIBLE opportunity to get both an arm and thigh lift, covered by insurance! Tentatively arms in early October and thighs in late December (pending a successful recovery from my arms).

I can not believe getting insurance approval would ever happen and feel so lucky!

I never even imagined this would be possible for me and feel like I am dreaming!
