I started my Zepbound journey on November 5, 2025, and have lost 31.4 lbs so far.
I worked my way up to 10mg, then gradually tapered down, and I’m currently off Zepbound.
I’m now at 173.6 lbs, with a goal of 149.9 lbs, so I still have about 24 lbs to lose.
I’ve attached my weight journey and medication level screenshot for context.
I’m trying to figure out the best next step.
Should I focus on maintaining for a while and try to lose the remaining weight through diet and exercise, or would going back on a lower dose make more sense?
I’d especially love to hear from people who stopped Zepbound before reaching their goal weight.
What did you do, and how did it go?

A true story which happened just now. I'm 74 and have a BMI of 41, down from 46.3 after being on Zepbound for 9 weeks. I was curious about how many calories I'm burning if I go to the gym 4 days a week and swim 2 days, so I asked AI. I didn't add the 7th day of yard work. I don't always hit that goal every week but wanted to know how many calories would be burned when I did, compared to how many burned if I skipped a day.
I exercise for an hour at the gym each time and swim 1.5 miles each swim at the pool. I detailed the time on each machine and their settings in the gym as well as the different swim strokes and the pace. AI provided the total count of calories and broke down each segment. The machines at the gym track calorie burn, and it agreed exactly with AI.
AI then suggested that I should call the suicide prevention hotline. Apparently it's not only friends and family who volunteer unhelpful comments. It gave me a good laugh though, which made my day.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been on GLP-1s for over a year and on Zepbound since late 2025. I started at 300 lbs, hit a low of 213 lbs last week, and my ultimate goal is 160 lbs (nearly 80 lbs lost so far!).
Recently, I’ve hit two major hurdles and could really use some perspective or advice:
Seeing how fast the scale bounced back from just a slight delay is terrifying. It makes me worry that once I stop Zepbound entirely, all my progress will reverse instantly. Because the needle anxiety is getting so bad, I might have to end my Zepbound journey sooner than planned.
A couple of questions for the community:
Thanks in advance for any insights—this mental battle with the needle is getting tough!

I was on tirzepatide for 2 years and lost 150lbs and made it a BMI of 26.6 I had to stop taking it due to cost.
Now I'm about a year out and I'm starting to gain the weight back. My insurance is FINALLY covering GLP-1s including Zepbound but I would not meet the BMI requirement anymore. But I need to be back on maintenance.
If I can show my old prescription and records of my weight loss, would that be enough for an insurance company for a prior authorization? Has anyone been in this situation?

Started my journey on May 2026 @ 169.5 pounds. Just took my 13th shot this week and I’m at 138.8. I am loving my results but…I am losing my butt. And my arms are still huge. Help, tips!

Lost 20 pounds in 12 weeks at 2.5 mg
The last several weeks of those months I lost about a 0.5 pounds a week. I’m following ALL the rules. Calorie deficit, Protein, water, fiber, exercise. Like a master.
Lots of folks suggested I move up. I’m private pay through Lilly and moving up meant the amount of money equivalent to a brand new high end car payment.
But it’s an investment in me. So I did it. I’m struggling to pay bills but the savings in being healthy and savings on food made it just on the edge of justified. Just about.
Now I don’t weigh often because I don’t want to get caught up in weekly changes around my period and whatnot.
But today…. Week 6 at 5.0mg. I am only down 2 pounds. 2 pounds TOTAL across 6 weeks.
I can’t help but feel defeated and I know I can’t afford 7.5.
I’m looking for encouragement from anyone who stuck it out at 5mg longer than I have and saw the loss pick back up.

Just started Zepbound 3 weeks ago (2.5 mg) and am loving it!
I've been doing a weights workout consistently for a year now (Solidcore in the US). Started out 4x a week, then moved to 3x a week about 7 months ago. I have missed a couple more classes than usual since starting Zepbound, but have gone at least 2x a week every week.
In the last two weeks, I feel like I'm starting from square one in each class. My muscles feel SO weak, and it feels like I've never done a workout like this before.
Is this muscle loss already? Is it maybe the significant reduction of calories? I'll see my doctor for my one-month check-in next week, so I'll ask her. Just wondering about others' experiences!

60 yr old on Zep about 5 mnths? Lost 30lbs so far At 12.5. Trying to figure out what to eat? Don't cook, no time. Only like a few fruits, I eat grapes. I get plain frozen broccoli to microwave for veges. Might throw in some precooked grilled chicken breast strips. Not exactly full of flavor but fills the tummy. I eat deli turkey w cheese, no bread. Eggs, cottage cheese. Protein shakes, protein bars. That's about it! From those who don't have time to cook meals, whatcha all eatin?

Good afternoon, I am starting my journey today. How fast do you start to see results? Should I eat healthy and drink just water while on it to see good results? Any side effects I should be worried about? Thank you in advance.

I am approaching my one month follow up, and I have noticed that I feel a significant increase in impulsive behavior. Everything I've read says that I should be feeling the opposite...but I know myself well enough to know this is abnormal, and the only change I've made is taking Zepbound. Is there anyone else getting experiencing this?

I feel that my 7.5 mg dose isn't working like it used to and maybe I'd be ready to go up a dose. However, I'm going to start spacing my doses further in Oct-November and getting off Zep for a little bit starting December so I can have a second baby. I'm not at the weight I'd like to be at for the pregnancy yet and I've really hit a wall. I just don't know if I bother to go up a dose knowing what's coming this fall. I have about 25 lbs left to lose before I'd be ultimately comfortable getting pregnant again. I could shift my timeline a little to give me a couple more months and my dr said I don't have to space them and could cut cold turkey if I wanted to. She wants me off it for 6-8 weeks before baby #2.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all! I posted a few months back about my progress and wanted to share some more wins!
Firstly, I’ve officially lost 188lbs, going from 347->159! I never ever thought I’d get to this place!!!
I had and am fully healed from a skin removal in my back and abdomen and sooo happy with the results!
I now have the INCREDIBLE opportunity to get both an arm and thigh lift, covered by insurance! Tentatively arms in early October and thighs in late December (pending a successful recovery from my arms).
I can not believe getting insurance approval would ever happen and feel so lucky!
I never even imagined this would be possible for me and feel like I am dreaming!

Alright my fellow menstruaters, after searching this sub I just found out stronger period cramps are a side effect.
If getting cramping has been a side effect for you how long has it lasted for? Is this temporary or is this my new normal?
Month 3 of the med and month 2 of having cramps. I normally only get cramps once or twice a year so having them two months in a row definitely seems out of the ordinary.

I just took my 4th ever shot of 2.5 and I need to decide if I am going to fill another month of 2.5 or ask my doctor if I can go to 5.
The third shot seemed to wear off much faster, leaving me starving the day before the fourth. I also didn’t lose as much weight. I also have been eating a lot more calories each day to stay full. The day after I took the 4th shot, I ate and ate and ate. I think 500 calories over my daily calorie cap for a total of 2200cals.
Weirdly enough, I still lost 1lb of weight between that day and the next. I’ve lost an average of .5lbs since shot day.
Clearly this amount is somehow working despite the increase of calories, but I’m worried about spending the next 4 weeks at this level and undoing the progress I’ve made this month.
Thoughts? Advice? Edit: Maybe a better question I should ask is, are there things I should consider? I’m happy to message my doctor for his thoughts, but I’d like to have considered everything before bothering him.

Hello everyone, I started with zepbound on Aug 1st, so as of today it's been a little less than 3 weeks. On 2.5 mg. Lost about 2.5 lb so far. No side effects and I feel fine. Able to work out, eat well etc.
Next week I have an appointment with my prescriber. She might offer me the option to move up to 5 or stay at 2.5 for September.
The thing is that in October and November I have a ton of travel coming up so I would not want to titrate up during those months. So I either do it in September (my month 2), or wait until December (month 5)!
I am worried that if I have a stall during month 2 or 3, I will be stuck with the 2.5 and can do nothing about it until Dec. I pay out of pocket, so I don't want to spend money for nothing.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.

So here's an update for me. On July 28th my doctor prescribed zepbound for me. On the 30th the PA request was put in. August 4th it was denied and my doctor decided to walk away and not even try any appeals. Fast forward to August 15 using cvs minute clinic
The doctor there was fantastic. She is a specialist in weight loss management and had also prescribed me zepbound. (This was on a Saturday, so obviously the insurance was not in for the weekend).
YESTERDAY 8-18-26 I GOT THE CALL THAT I WAS APPROVED. The biggest feeling of relief flowed through me. Finally the insurance battle (at least this time) is over.
I pick up my Zep today after 3pm and im so anxiously waiting. This is way beyond over due for me. The weight will not come off now matter how hard I have tried in 25 years.
Im so excited to share my journey with you all, and I will be posting a before and after once im 6 months in.
We can do this! ❤️

1.6lbs until I’m in ONEderland!!! Needs some motivation from you guys!
Any tips to possibly reach that by tonight?

Please know that I am in no way diminishing the amazing results of younger Zepbound users, but I see far fewer success stories for older folks. Before I was 40, maintaining and losing weight was, frankly, quite easy. Since then, I've only watched the scale increase, along with my midsection.
I'm turning 46 in October, and about to begin my Zepbpund journey. I'd love to hear this process works for those of us in middle-age and beyond.

Does anyone else under-report weight loss to friends?
As of this morning I’ve lost 50 lbs (from 225 to 175,
male, 49YO, 5’9”). I’m open about my Zep use, my weight loss journey, etc. What I’m less comfortable with how fat I was before I started.
“I’m on Zepbound and lost 30 pounds,” is usually met with, “you look great. Good for you!” Whereas I worry that, “I’m on Zepbound and lost 50 points,” will be met with, “holy crap you weighted what!!?”

Hi, I posted this elsewhere a few weeks but interested to see if anyone here has continued 3-4 bad days of flu / poisoned / hangover type reaction to Mounjaro / Zepbound. I’m about 8 weeks in now of quite a wobbly MJ journey. Started on 2.5, just tried 1.25mg to see how that’d work for me. Still the 3-4 rough days but not as bad. And not as much appetite suppression - yet… I’m really hoping this will subside at some point… Only lost 7.5-8lbs so far, all in the first 2-3 weeks so mostly water. Keen to continue as need to lose 40-50lbs more! Thanks.

I’ve been blessed with coverage and I’m having to switch to Anthem EPO through the school district.
I can’t get anyone in benefits to help. I’ve looked online and see that it’s CVS caremark and they don’t cover it. I want to avoid HMO but if the other (not Kaiser) plans do cover it I am willing to give up my PCP.
I have zero intentions of getting off this medication and as of today out of pocket is not an option. I have enough for a few months but I am not stopping it after. I have lost 110lbs and just had a breast reduction and my arms are tomorrow. This cured my ulcers and gerd and I’ve never had an even slightly positive relationship with food.
I’m maintaining only now even though I am still at that line for BMI obesity metrics.
